Posada La Torre de La Quintana was steps off the Camino del Norte and provided lodging that was welcoming and homey at the conclusion of a long hike day. The room was part old, with rustic beams and stone walls, and part new, with a spacious bathroom (including a double sized walk-in shower) and modern fixtures. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at a popular restaurant in the village plaza located just around the corner. Though there were few services in the immediate area, we had everything we needed to refuel and rest. The grounds and ambiance were lovely and we hated to leave! In fact, the hostess said we could check out later since it was sprinkling outside on the morning of our departure, but we decided to push on. Would definitely include a stop here on any Camino journey!

What a stunning Posada, the property and garden around it are well cared for. The inside was spotless not a speck of dust anywhere, beautiful furniture in the bedrooms as well as the public areas. There’s even an honesty bar with all sorts of delights for those that wish it. There are areas for socialising inside the house as well as dotted around the beautiful gardens. There’s no air conditioning in the bedrooms but there is an amazing ceiling fan that does the job. Unfortunately we weren’t able to enjoy the amazing breakfast as we had to head of early. The Posada is located very close to the Camino, there is a shop and restaurants close by.

Absolutely nothing!

We decided to stay here while walking the Camino Del Norte and whoa!… it exceeded all expectations. Wonderful property, calm and quiet. We splurged for the Terazza suite and it was the epitome of comfort and relaxation. Kitchenette, bathroom with great toiletries, very clean, living room with so many thought out details. Comfortable sofa (that opens up to a bed, which we didn’t need to do), chairs, coffee table, fold out dining table and fold out chairs. Bedroom has a huge bed and a spacious built in closet. Awesome touches of art, unique light switch fixtures, decorative hanging tapestry, lamps in all the right places, built in radiators and even portable radiator. Sunny terrace with table and chairs and a sun umbrella. This place made us feel so comfortable and we didn’t want to leave. The breakfast (12 euro) had a nice spread. Interesting history, impeccable architecture, friendly staff, honesty bar that we didn’t get to use. Highly recommend it if you want a place to treat yourself with a generous check out time of 12 noon.

That we didn’t get to spend another night here!

Mara was incredibly welcoming and spoke amazing English, letting us relax as soon as we arrived. She gave us a list of recommended restaurants for the next Camino locations we will visit. This boutique Posada has a very unique and luxury feel to it - we had beers from the honesty bar and sat in the beautiful courtyard. We really loved seeing the old family ownership of the Posada and enjoyed the history a lot! Our ‘economy’ bedroom was perfect - the beds were extremely comfortable and the shower was hot and powerful. This Posada is located ideally between the ‘plaza’ bar where we could have drinks in the square and El Roble restaurant where they served delicious huevos rotos. Our breakfast here was the best we have had the whole Camino - eggs, tortilla, homemade cakes, delicious breads honeys and jams, and lots of coffee! Situated in the beautifully Liendo valley, we could not have asked for a more perfect stop off during our Camino del Norte travels - hugely recommend!

The property is a beautiful building in a lovely setting. It was a quiet and relaxing place to stay. There were communal areas although we did not use them. A nice bar to eat at with outdoor speaking was nearby. We travelled by bicycle and this property offered secure bike parking behind their gates which were locked when staff were not present, given the rural and quiet area this felt very safe, and we could access the bikes 24 hours. Our room was a quirky attic which was very comfortable and quiet and had a nice bathroom. Breakfast was a buffet and great, good fuel for an active day ahead.

Wifi was quite slow.

This is like a breath of fresh air after corporate hotel stays. Located in a very pretty area the building is old and beautifully presented. We stayed in the annex which was a large suite including small kitchen area with microwave. Room remained cool due to the very thick walls. There was a nice short walk to local restaurants in the village and beach at Laredo was a short 8 minute drive away. (We ate lunch at the end of the spit of land and enjoyed an afternoon on the very sandy beach with some huge shells.) Breakfast was outside in garden under the trees - all very lovely!

Nothing!

A great location if you’re looking for peace and a safe environment. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The bathroom had a very good magnifying mirror. Lovely outside spaces to sit and relax. Very easy free parking right outside the hotel. The little village is beautiful and has a couple of restaurants. A short car ride to the seaside resort of Laredo. Fabulous walks from the hotel to some beautiful deserted beaches.

The suite had a well equipped kitchen (which is why we booked it) but the details mention a coffee machine. This isn’t the case. It is actually a very small cafetière, enough for only one cup of coffee. A minor point but it worth mentioning for coffee lovers!

I’m walking the El Camino del Norte. Like WOW! The room was incredible in a refurbished old estate house. Just felt like, I shouldn’t be staying in a place like this when I am a pilgrim! Loved the shower, it was a walk-in with one of those overhead shower heads. Sure felt good after a day of walking. There were beer, wine, and cocktails available at the Honest Bar. Not far up the street was a fit for purpose restaurant and the incredible Iglesia de Maria de la Asuncion! Did I mention there was in-room instant coffee and tea?

Breakfast started at 9am, but I hit the road at daybreak (7:30). That’s OK, the routine of a peregrino.

I really liked the stay in this place, the town is wonderful and very quiet. The inn is a very charming place, everything is very clean, the decoration is fabulous and the staff is very nice. It is very close to Laredo, about 10 minutes or less by car.

The only bad thing we could see was a little dirt under the toilet lid. Also that despite the fact that they have a kitchen (a pleasant surprise for us) is that they have an induction hob but they did not have a frying pan to be able to use it. Otherwise, everything is great. The fridge, utensils, toaster, etc...

A very good stay in a very special place. This is a lovely and historic property with a unique charm. Everything was clean and in perfect condition, and the room was quite comfortable. The location is right on the Camino, which is terrific, but it’s quite residential so there are just one or two dining options nearby.. the little bar near the church was just fine for a light meal. We especially enjoyed the shared lounge on the first floor, where you can meet other peregrinos and have a chat. Would recommend to others, and would also say that ending the day in Liendo (vs going on to Laredo) worked very well for us on that day and the next.. cheers
