Everything! The staff were very polite and helpful - breakfast was excellent with a huge amount of choice. Very good location as you were away from the main tourist area in a modern Plaza but only a couple of minutes walk to the busy Balcon de Europa. My tip when eating out is not to always go down to the Balcon where it’s very touristy and most restaurants have the same menu but to turn left out of the hotel and walk up the hill where you will find some of the quieter, better and less touristy restaurants - La Posada Iberia is a tiny gem famed for its amazing steaks, also Colosseo, a lovely Italian just up the road and Oliva, which is actually next door to the hotel for fine dining. Pizza Bar on the corner just to the right of the Museum is also excellent and far more upmarket than its name might suggest.

Nothing whatsoever although if you book a room at the back it will be less noisy if you want to sit on the balcony as the ones at the front overlook the Plaza where there are sometimes children’s parties going on.

We paid 15 euros extra per night for a superior room with a terrace looking over the square and it was well worth it, room was lovely and big, air con was good, very clean, comfy bed and all staff were so friendly. We had room only but they do a very nice continental breakfast for 4.80 euros which included a coffee, orange juice, baguette with either ham and cheese, tomatoes or jam also with a bowl of fresh fruit, well worth it and we had this a few times. Location of hotel was amazing a couple of minutes walk to the Balcon. Definitely coming back here to stay again.

Had noisy people above but didn’t ruin holiday

The property is just exceptional, the location is perfect. Staff are very friendly and the rooms are spotless. This was our second year returning and will definitely be returning next year. Highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was in a very lovely position and 2 minutes walk to Balcon de Europe plus numerous beaches.From entering hotel at reception it is spotlessly clean and the staff are very helpful.The room we were in had a balcony and had been decorated this year with new furnishings etc.There were a few small minor teething problems with room regarding curtains and bathroom door which amazingly fixed within minutes which was excellent service because I worked as maintenance man in Uk hotels and I know problems.The maids were friendly and excellent at their job and kept room spotless.For a 3 star it is very good value and the breakfast was good value for 9.90 euros or around 4 euros at restaurant at front of hotel for a continental.

The cleaner was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, a young Spanish lady. The receptionists were amazing , the lady who works most days again is very accommodating and friendly and provided me with an iron, and the other lady with curly hair had no issues providing me with a new key card when I had forgotten mine. The balcony with a view over the spanish plaza was beautiful both in the day and the night The location Can not be beaten! So many good food places and so close to the beaches/balcon de europa All in all this was a pleasure , and certainly not a chore

No irish breakfast option (I joke)

The hotel was brilliant. Spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and room. Location was excellent looking out onto the square with easy walking access to all locations. The roof top pool and sunbathing area was an added bonus, with fantastic views. We booked room only but opted for the continental breakfast (€4.80) in the cafe at the front of the hotel which was well worth the money with brilliant service overlooking the square. It was our first time in Nerja we loved it and definitely would recommend Mena Plaza as a base. Added bonus was we requested a kettle for the room so we could have a tea or coffee when required. Thanks to all the staff for an enjoyable stay and we definitely will be back.

great location, great room, everything you need and warm and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was great. (not happy had to pay double price due to system error)

I have 1 niggle. Booked on booking.com, 2 rooms with buffet breakfast for 4 persons. The booking was then changed prior to visit to 2 rooms, only 1 room with breakfast (2 persons). We were friends travelling for a special birthday and wanted to share our time. On arrival the hotel could not honour the breakfast price (they said) at the rate it was on booking but happy to charge the 9.90€ per person per day not the 4.80€ (the booking rate) There were many other people complaining of the same problem. Wether its an issue with booking.com or hotel seems happens often.

Location overlooking Plaza Espana was lovely and it was good to be able to park securely under the hotel. We enjoyed breakfast and our room was a nice size with balcony facing the square. We enjoyed drinks at the gastrobar at the front of the hotel, lovely staff and service. The staff in the hotel were incredibly kind and patient, too, especially with our parking issues!

Finding the hotel. Be careful what you type into google or similar, the full address is better than the hotel name but our car's sat nav couldn't locate either! But better still use the Plaza Espana municipal car park as the hotel's secure parking is through doors from that. Good to have liquid soap available in the shower but had to use so much as it was ineffective. Wished I had taken my own soap as I usually do

This is the third time I have stayed here now and it is such a lovely hotel. The staff are wonderful and the amenities such as the restaurant and rooftop pool and bar are fabulous. The rooms are always very clean and I have never had any problems with them. There is a Carrefour literally next door now so that is handy for bits you might have forgotten. The hotel is literally 2 minutes from the beach and the Balcon - I hope to always keep coming back here!

Nothing, it's wonderful.

Location was perfect. Nice and quiet, especially during festival week. Staff lovely. The outdoor cafeteria served basic simple but lovely food and staff very accommodating

For a very small pool, that opened at 09.30am when planning on spending the day up on the roof all loungers were saved already by 09.30! very rude and selfish. Some people didn’t come and sit on them for 4-5 hours later. Some couples saved 4!!!! You should not use a bed until you actually sit on it. People were sitting for 2 hours then going for lunch for 4 hours then returning???? Rude. Otherwise happy with the space
