The location is perfect. We had a 4th floor room, with a balcony and country views to the horizon. The beds were comfy with nice bed linen. The bottom half of the hotel is old and grand and the top half is modern and fairly austere. The bottom half felt like a very expensive hotel without facilities. Reception was very professional and the staff were just lovely. Breakfast was a little expensive but well worth it. They had quality things for my gluten intolerant friend.

There were places to sit and read downstairs but it was chilly and someone was doing a teaching session in the same room. But overall, we really enjoyed staying there

Absolutely perfect location for a short walk to El Escorial monastery. Near to bus station and lots of restaurants . A large spacious hotel. On the 1st floor …..Our bedroom was large, warm , spotless and very contemporary for an older hotel . Huge, comfortable double bed and large 2 sink bathroom. Excellent shower area . Mini bar too.

Unfortunately, there wasn’t a bar area for drinks after a day of sightseeing. There was a business dinner the evening we were staying and the music … though recorded-was loud and played until 1am . Could not get to sleep! Pity as it took the shine off our stay and we needed a good nights sleep for a long drive the next day.

Room was very comfortable with nice towels and a shower. We were walking distance from the famous El Escorial Monastery. The Hotel also has a good Restaurant, and we were walking distance from most Restaurants in the old city. (We would have loved a kettle in the room to be able to have an early morning coffee !!) Parking was outside the Hotels premises in the street, but we found parking very easily.

It's not such a problem, but communication is not that easy --some of the staff (in the restaurant and outside Bar do not understand English well)---but we appreciated the gesture of a free drink on arrival !!

This was a lovely, well-maintained hotel and met our needs perfectly! We traveled as a family of three. No need to pay for their breakfast -- it was easy to walk to a cafe for a croissant or pastry in the mornings. Perfect location in walking distance to everything, including the monastery in San Lorenzo.

No major complaints! Only minor ones: The room keys seemed to be de-activated daily and we had to go to the front desk to re-activate (we did not store them near our phones or other magnets). Because one needs a key inserted in the slot in the room, we were unable to leave devices charging when we were out. We would have loved washcloths, not just towels (an American thing?). But one of these was a big deal. Overall our stay was excellent and we would absolutely stay here again!

Quiet beautiful old hotel very close to the Monastery and the town center, comfortable, beautiful balcony with look at a small park, friendly reception and good breakfast included.

The breakfast time was very strictly handled even on Sunday morning. The coffee machine was not working for a while, making it difficult to get your coffee altogether for accompanying your breakfast meal.

The place was absolutely amazing. The beds were incredibly comfortable and for an extremely light sleeper this was the first time EVER to encounter a hotel with curtains that fully close and even overlap on double tracks to completely dark out the room! Beautiful building, close to the centre. great service and great food.

The hotel was advertised with a pool, but the pool wasn't open yet, which was a shame. No parking onsite, but there's parking in streets behind a little walk away.

I appreciate my needs being met. + The amenities on offer were great. + The staff was very friendly and helpful. The team does not hesitate to assist you in any way. + Location is impeccable. + The design and building is in perfect conditions and very well maintained. + Front office is 24 hours. I arrived around 10:30 PM and it was great to know that I won’t have problems to check in. + The check out is fast and easy. You even get messages to automate your departure.

- Noise isolation might be a minus if your next door neighbours are loud. - I missed a trash bin in the room, besides the small one in the bathroom.

The perfect location very close to El Escorial Monastery and the bus station. Just 5 mins walk. The railway station 30 mins. I had very nice walk to the town center with nice restaurants and bars. It was really worth to pay for the hotel breakfast - nice place, variety of food offered and very nice view of the garden.

The rooms and commons areas would need some refurbishment. I have expected the interior to be nicer. Only the breakfast place met my expectations. There is no consierge service, you can only leave your luggage in unattended storage room.

The staff was very friendly and helpful - they made a huge difference! the location was outstanding, with a few meters from the Escorial, with all the beauty and excellence of the whole town. A good place to stay for visiting and relaxing.

Nothing, everything was up to expectation and beyond. the place was nice and with personality, the breakfast was very good. the room was nice, super clean and quite. the surroundings as mentioned are just amazing. use the opportunity to walk around!

The Hotel is extremely well located in El Escorial, the dinning area is very nice and as an antique but updated look. Brekakfast was good! Service was very good! Parking is not easy but the staff helps you find an unpaid place near by.

The room is lacking small complementary drinks such as coffee, tea and water bottles.
