Location is excellent - the park next door is one of our favourite things we visited during our stay, and it was so lovely to have it right there! It's not in the centre of Santa Cruz so to speak, but it's a fairly small and walkable city - nothing we went to was more than a 35-40 min walk from the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful with anything we needed. Reasonably priced drinks in the fridge at reception were a welcome addition. Room was spacious and comfortable, and having the little balcony overlooking the street was great. Also good to have a mini fridge. Breakfast was very good in both variety and quality. The mini-pancake-making machine was a delight! Loved that there was a fresh orange juice machine as well, and all the cooked elements were well done.

Nothing really. The only thing we could mention was that the shower wasn't great, but that's about it.

Really great hotel, very well situated beside a beautiful park. Very comfortable, everything you could possibly want. Delightful staff. Woman and then man on Reception spent a long time with me, trying to work out (eventually successfully) how to get Internet on my dinosaur era laptop. Buffet breakfast to die for (but not die of......) with astonishing quality and quantity of food. Lovely Cuban worker saw from a distance what I needed and brought it over to me... it's this level of empathetic staff which puts you in a good mood for the day...

Excelent location, close to a wonderful park and in walking distance from most of the city attractions. Nice, professional staff. Very good breakfast. Comfortable bed. Good value, would stay here again.

Poor sound insulation, could hear well very late in the night neighbors speaking at a normal level in the room above or near us. Some furniture in the room a bit dated.

Very good location. Close to the beautiful Garcia Sanabria park and other key points. Buffet breakfast had great variety of foods and it was tasty. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Rosemary, our room cleaning lady was outstanding!!!

Smaller rooms than other hotels in the area.

The hotel is located in the city center. Parking is available 50m from the hotel for 12 Eur /Day. Very nice staff. The hotel is clean, 10 out of 10. Beds are very comfortable. There is a restaurand and a bar.

Even if it's warm outside, the heating wasn't working and it may be between 19 and 21 degrees in the room at night.

Nice hotel and pleasant staff. Hotel rooms were a bit older but in a good state, clean and the bathroom was good. Breakfast was very good and is definitely worth it. Location of the hotel was also good, albeit a bit further away from the tram, but right next to the large park and close to the city center.

The bedsheets could be improved if the hotel could buy standard pocket style sheets to cover the duvets in rather than having two layers of sheets and the duvet in between as this combination doesn't hold together and you pretty soon end touching the duvet (which I presume is not washed as often and is shared in between the guests) directly.

We had a lovely time. The Occidental was our base for hiking in the Anaga region. Great breakfast options every day, and the beds were so very comfortable. Everyone was warm and welcoming. The location is perfect for exploring the city, with plenty of restaurants within walking distance

Great location, very kind and helpful staff, clean corridors and rooms, nice views and awesome breakfast. Even the takeaway breakfast when you need to leave early was surprisingly good. We got lots of fruits, doughnuts and a cheese and ham sandwich plus of course water. Last time I was a bit uncomfortable with the bedsheets being two separate layers with the inner duvet sliding out of it. Now I visited the hotel again and this single issue I had was no longer the case. This is awesome and big thumbs up for that, thank you!

The hotel was in a great area - close to a marvellous park! Other important objects were not too far too.

The only thing was not satisfying was constant smell of smoking cigaretes from the neighbouring room in the morning and in the evening.

Location, view, breakfast. There was a very nice waiter in my restaurant, we just loved it.
