The continental breakfast was very good. The bedroom was impressively large and very well appointed as was the bathroom. The ladies running the hotel were very welcoming and treated us to a tour of the beautiful ancient wine cellar which is used to host various events.

Nothing related to the hotel but it took a short while to find a spot to park the car but it was only a few minutes walk away.

Like walking into a tardis. The property is situated in a small hamlet just outside Villafranca del Penedes. Do not let that put you off. If you want a peaceful stopover for a few nights it is perfect. Silvia the host is excellent. Nothing is to much trouble. She can and will recommend restaurants, vineyards and anything else you need to know. If you do not want to go out, just enjoy the location and Silvia will arrange a wine tasting on the property. She is also an excellent cook.

Fantastic room, very friendly staff, beautiful wine cellar

The location is a bit far from the restaurants. It happened that we came back in the evening and the room smelled of smoking but the smell was temporary.

What a fabulous little hotel run by lovely people! We wanted a day off driving on our long journey to the south of Spain and we couldn't have picked a nicer place. No need to go out and look for a restaurant, the dinner in the hotel was superb, as was the breakfast! The staff were very attentive without being intrusive. The swimming pool and terrace are delightful and made for a very relaxing couple of nights. We absolutely will stay there again whenever we pass through Penedes.

There was a power cut in the middle of the night which meant the emergency lights came on in our room and wow are they bright! Impossible to get back to sleep for an hour while they were on and we were getting up very early for the long drive south. Not the fault of the hotel but something they need to consider.

Small hotel, only a few rooms, privately run by a lady who takes pride in her hotel. She cooks dinner for you and provides an excellent breakfast. She showed us the (wine) cellar when we were about to leave. This rural hotel is a real gem.

The only drawback is that parking is on the street.

Large comfortable room in guesthouse with large comfortable bed and couch. Relatively quiet street -in Spain you cannot escape the noise of motor scooters , but with the windows closed it is tolerable. Big plus - lots of electric sockets in the room. Mini bar fully stocked. Very nice shower. No restaurant but owner and staff provide tasty, simple and reasonably priced food - don't forget to request in advance. Fantastic wine selection - the owner is a veteran of the wine industry, gives wine tastings and has a large well stocked cellar. Owner and staff very, very friendly, gracious, interesting and helpful.

Location in small village close to Vilafranca, it took me several days to get used to all the one way streets. Parking on the streets a bit of a problem, owner has small garage for small price - if you take that option bring a small car! Internet in room does not work with iPhone and at times also not with iPad - however works fine with PC.

The place has character and the owner makes an effort to meet your needs. Breakfast was fantastic and so was dinner. Although my stay was a business one, I realised there was a pool for whoever fancies a little dip. It’s very quiet at night so having a good sleep is almost guaranteed. Getting my invoices right was important and paying was very easy.

Parking can be a challenge. The roads are very narrow and it was take a few streets away to find a good place to park.

Silvia was very friendly and helpful. We were all on the same floor together (we were a group of 6 friends) it was so friendly and welcoming , The cheese and wine tasting we did was amazing. the staff super helpful. the swimming pool is small, but perfect for a group of friends to hang out. I would definitely come back. I am wheat intolerant and vegetarian and Silvia catered to my special dietary needs.

The home cooked food in the hotel was delicious and great value. Very homely feel in the hotel due to the small number of rooms and the fact that the staff were happy to accommodate when we wanted dinner and breakfast. Breakfast was great with a selection of fresh breads, cold meats, yoghurt, OJ, eggs and good coffee. The town of Moja is small and doesn’t have any restaurants that we could find, but Villafranca del Penedes is a 10 minute drive and had lots of places to eat. If you are looking for a place with charm and character, a little off the beaten track and a welcome change from chain hotels, Cal Roig Hotel is a great choice.

Very gracious reception and proprietor offered to make dinner (wonderful paella, plus much more) for just us 2 ,much earlier than usual Spanish dinner time. This is a newly remodeled property where all appointments are of top quality. Rooms are spacious, clean and extremely well-designed and very practical. She took the time to show us the entire property and her wine tour and tasting business set up on the site. She also provided private parking so we didn't have to unload everything. Small, quiet , peaceful, hillside town near Barcelona and the freeway was a wonderful retreat. Because of the graciousness of the proprietor and the accommodations we had a fabulous experience and would recommend it to anyone.

Can't think of anything to improve. This small town has several one-way streets, so the site can be a little hard to find. Just follow your GPS.
