Fabulous location leading up to the castle in lovely grounds. We had a cabin set in the lush grounds which was very comfortable with everything one would need. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was excellent - beautifully prepared and presented. Highly recommended.

The only disappointment was to do with dinner. Not knowing any of the wines we selected one of the cheaper Spanish ones but was later informed this was not available and another one substituted. It was not until we got the bill that we realised the substitute was more than three times the price. We feel this was a bit naughty, although I guess we should have asked the price when offered it.

Xativa is an extremely picturesque town with old buildings and narrow streets on a hillside over looked by an old monastery and castle. Well worth a visit. This hotel is on the very peak, overlooking the town. They converted the old monastery into a very fancy hotel. Great rooms, spacious and well appointed; welcoming staff. Wonderful lush gardens, interesting walkways, 25 varieties of citrus trees, and old islamic cistern (1.3million L) and water ways that fed the castle in yesteryear. Pool was wonderful too on the hilltop with 270 degree views of castle and mountains. We wish we could have stayed more days and definitely want to come back.

The restaurant staff were wonderful and the food was horrible. We could tell they were trying really hard to make fancy meals but the combinations they created were almost inedible: cream cheese with capers and pickles with no bread (salty and pungent/rank); soy/sesame tuna poke on a tomato (disharmonious); sautéed scallops on flan (flaccid; unsavoury); cheesecake with a jam centre covered in a white chocolate shell dusted with icing sugar (sickly sweet).

The hotel was superb, Absolutely beautiful. The restaurant was stunning - we had an amazing meal. The design of this hotel is so beautiful. We absolutely loved it. A real gem.

I booked a room on booking.com and then tried to add onto the booking for another night, so ended up with 2 bookings. I contacted the hotel and asked if I could stay in the same room for both nights but there was zero flexibility. This is the first time I've ever experienced this. I paid for breakfast one morning for €16 pp and it was way over priced - no nice coffee - very average spread - a completely different calibre to the restaurant for dinner - which is amazing ! don't miss that

The property is in a beautiful location and lovely lay out. We upgraded so had the individual private pools which were lovely.

You must tell them in advance about any meals you wish to eat in the restaurant. They won’t just spontaneously serve you. The hotel was quite which was lovely but when asking to update there was no discount or incentive to do so. They make us pay full price even though it was almost empty.

Very pretty hotel in a picturesque spot. The room was a good size with a bath and shower, attractive decor with a private outside terrace, although the gardens around the hotel are lovely. The restaurant is an absolute must as the food was delicious, good quality wine and very reasonable prices.

Our room was adjacent to the stairwell down to the restaurant and the sound proofing wasn't great, luckily the hotel was quite quiet and so this didn't prove to be an issue. Nothing else to complain about, it was a very enjoyable stay.

Everything! The location and views, the peace and the quiet. It is our 6th time here - 3 times in the monastery and 2 x in the cabins, all are good but the views from the Monastery to the castle are fabulous. Sitting on the terrace at night when the castle is lit up is beautiful. Excellent food and good service, a special thank you to Aldo in the restaurant/bar area - attentive and very helpful, as are all the staff we have had contact with. Very comfortable beds, great bathrooms with good showers and well lit

Beautiful location, stunning pool, amazing views and very nicely refurbished rooms. The staff are friendly and the premises are lush and well kept. Very useful to have an on-site restaurant as the hotel is situated slightly away from the village

Sound isolation in the room was very poor. I could almost hear exactly what people were saying in the restaurant, building entrance, hallway etc. Restaurant could do with another vegetarian option. Room service charge of 6€ seems a bit much.

Everything about our stay was amazing. The hotel is tucked away up past the old town of Xàtiva, just below the castle. The reception is separate from the main building and the reception staff were friendly and super fast with communication before and during our stay. Our Cabaña was ready for us on arrival with crisp linen, fresh and clean bathroom and chic fittings. The bed was extremely comfortable and we didn’t hear a sound from other guests or traffic. We booked for dinner in the evening and pre arranged the tasting menu - exceptional value for money and the dining room staff were efficient and paired some fabulous wines with our dinner. Breakfast was of equal high quality. Plenty of choice of hot and cold with a selection of breads, pastries, juices and beverages. Mont Sant is definitely a little gem to be returned to again.

There were a lot of mosquitos but the beautiful gardens are a haven for them unfortunately. Take repellent if you are a mosquito buffet!

Beautiful surroundings. Extensive gardens. A tropical paradise. We booked two rooms with private pools and were extremely pleased with them. Reception staff very helpful.

Our eating experience here has always been excellent but on this occasion we were extremely disappointed in both the food and the attitude of the lady restaurant manager. Breakfast was very disappointing. You have to book a slot and when we arrived the hot food server had been turned off and everything was cold. We booked 9am and breakfast was served until 10. We were offered an omelette or scrambled egg. The omelettes were extremely salty and we couldn't eat them. They did not have breakfast tea!

If you miss the turn like we did at the entrance to the town it’s a nightmare. Our own fault. Once at the hotel it was very good. Lovely staff, great room with balcony, like being in Asia it’s so thick with greenery. Nice meal but small portions.

Worst thing was we arrived after a long drive and there was nothing at all to eat. Suggest they cater to travellers who drive through the Spanish lunch and want to eat dinner. We had to resort to Doritos! Pool area also disappointing. For such lovely grounds it was pretty unkempt as regards the grass and the pool was small with a steep decline which made exiting slippy. However tranquil and relaxing-these are small quibbles
