We had a great time at d-family resort. We stayed in a double bed room which had a lookout over the area. Our hosts were wonderful and helped us wherever they could and welcomed us with a big smile every time. Breakfast was included, but you can also get dinner for normal prices. They aranged a day out in the city for us and a safari in Wilpattu NP. Our tuktuk driver, which they also arranged from the resort, was really nice and showed us around. Overall a really pleasant experience if you like to stay in a bit quieter part of town.

Peaceful, friendly and private place to stay while being taken care of by the kindest people. Everything you need is at hand. These are little cottages with a nice terrace out front and a balcony overlooking the green. The inside is quite dark, okay with lights on of course, but very cozy and spacious enough. Warm shower, comfy bed, kitchen with sink and fridge. Breakfast and other meals can be ordered to your own cottage and are big and very delicious. Sri Lankan breakfast is a big tip. City centre is a short tuktuk drive away but the top restaurant of the area (Golden Mango - came back every day) is just a stroll away. Also: they put us in touch with tuktuk driver Raja, who is the friendliest man and ended up taking us to many amazing (and hidden) places around for a good price. BIG BIG TIP to also contact Raja to really add to your stay in the area.

We had a cabana right by the jungle/waterfront, which was super cute and had a great tucked away veranda that was perfect to release/read/play cards while listening to sounds of the jungle. Radhikaa and the staff were so attentive and helpful, and helped us organise trips and even got up super early to give us breakfast before we went on our day safari trip (despite the heavy rain, we had a great day and saw a bear with two baby cubs). Would definitely stay again!

The cabana can get quite damp from the humidity (bed/clothes) but a tip is to leave the air con on dehumidify / dry setting for a few hours before bed, then it was fine!

Excellent service and communication. The staff were prompt (not super common in Sri Lanka) with an early breakfast so we could get out before the heat. There’s an artists touch to the resort with custom murals on the walls of each cabana and lions sporting water into the pool. They also had cable TV which was appreciated by my daughter after 3 weeks with no TV anywhere.

Cabanas are really dark inside but there is a balcony both up and downstairs. The 5:30am wake up for prayer from the mosque’s somewhere in the distance was a surprise!

What a wonderful breakfast we had. There was a plenty of food on our table. Special thing is the swimming pool. That is the best thing to refresh after traveling the ancient city on these hot days. Clean pool. The room we had very clean and tidy. There are lots of fruit trees around the resort with birds aound. Such a wonderful stay we had in D Family Resort. Super service staff, delicious warm food, clean pool and room. Thank you D Family staff make us happy

The absolut best thing about the property was the staff. From the beginning they were very nice and incredibly welcoming. They gave us amazing tips and made us feel at home. When we wanted to have a late night swim, they turned the pool lights on just for us. Even though we didn’t book any breakfast/lunch/dinner they always asked us if we wanted to have some food. And the food was really good too! We were able to rent Bikes from them and they always offered to call us a TukTuk. They were overall just super nice and made our stay very good.

The only “negative” was, that the bathroom was very small, especially the shower. It didn’t have a door or curtain, so the bathroom would get wet.

nice and clean huts with enough space of a family, clean and a nice pool, hidden away in the countryside, therefore away and quite, delicious breakfast brought on the terasse, recommendation: ask for Sril Lankan breakfast, you'll love it, very friendly staff, helping with the luggage, also try eating in the accomodation - delicous and we did not have such a large portion of Kottu again during our stay. Also good tips for trips in the area are given, parking space available (we traveled with our own rental car)

The best hotel I stayed on my vacation in Sri Lanka. Highly appreciate the friendly staff service, hot food, beautiful swimming pool, and sspecialty clean room with air conditioning and television. I enjoyed a lot at D Family Resort. Thanks the business orner Radhikaa and her friendly staff who made my day memorable.

D Family Resort staff is very helpful and pleasant smily face always. Each and every time they helped us and fulfilled our requirements. Specially the location is wonderful lake view and various kinds of fruits trees. We felt very comfortable at D Family Resort. We had our favorite food as the breakfast. Excellent and very tasty food they provided. The pool is very clean and clear. We enjoyed a lot at D Family Resort. We hope to go back to that beautiful place to stay with such a nice hotel staff again. Thanks D Family to making our trip memorable one.

Our stay was excellent. The staff were beyond friendly and were like family. It was my father’s birthday and they kindly arranged a cake with candles for him and we all sang and wished him. The service was excellent and the rooms very comfortable. The location is also great as it’s very close to the temples. It was a very pleasant stay overall. Thank you all!
