The two persons working there are really friendly and helpful. The location is great. It is close to the new city and close to the lake. It is in a quiet street and there is a garden. We rented bicycles from the hostel to go to the sacred city, which was about 5km away. Careful for the dogs on the way to the sacred city though. The hostel is close from the new bus terminal at Anuradhapura, so it was very easy to go and take the bus to places nearby or other cities. Nice neighbourhood around the hostel and a special thanks to Hetty and his colleague who did their very best to make us very comfortable there. We stayed for 5 nights to rest after a long trip and to witness the poson celebrations taking place.

In the beginning we had the room for 3 because on picture it looked more spacious and it supposedly had a garden view but we found out it wasn't really a room with a garden view. There is a window next to an open space indeed, but that is where tuktuk's and cars park. We did 't consider this a garden. We were happy to change to a room for 2 with a garden view after the first night.

It was a great experience to arrive there. Upon arrival, we were immediately welcomed with tea and cookies, which made the start of the day very pleasant. The host arranged a tuk-tuk driver for us to visit the temples at a very reasonable price. The tuk-tuk guide was friendly and provided interesting explanations about the temples. We were so satisfied that we booked an additional tour with him the next morning. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to explore the area in a comfortable and informative way!

From the moment of arrival we were welcomed and looked after studiously by the manager ‘Heti’ he catered to our every need, arranging for tuk tuk taxi to take us on tours, and also got us a comfortable lift to our next location 100 km away at the “right” price.Heti also arranged for our bicycle hire which resulted in a days travel out into the beautiful neighbouring countryside and onto the Sri Maha Bodhiya temple to see the venerated Bodhi Tree amidst the gentle chanting of the many local people and visitors alike, one of our favourite temple visits by ourselves. Cycling was comparatively safe on the roads and countryside paths around Anuradhpurs and we made a gentle 11 mile circular journey, well remembered! The hotel was safe, tidy, clean and comfortable, and although food isn’t provided we had a kettle and tea/coffee options in the room. Heti also gave good advice on where to eat nearby. Highly recommended as a place to be based for your visit to Anuradhapura

Nothing really, except possibly a little more power in the shower?

A great villa located near Anuradhapura New Town. The room was cozy, with a comfortable bed and a small balcony with chairs. The bathroom had a hot water boiler, though the water pressure was quite weak. Shampoo and shower gel were provided, and everything was perfectly clean and well-maintained. The host was very helpful and arranged a trip to Wilpattu National Park at a great price compared to GetYourGuide and similar platforms.

Next to this room is the staff room, and at night, loud snoring is heard. I'm writing this review a few days later to be more objective after three sleepless nights. If you're sensitive to noise, I recommend choosing a different room than the one I chose, as you will definitely hear the snoring

This is a lovely place, with a great location. Close to the new bus station (but quite far away from the old bus station!). Shops and restaurants are super close, still it is not on the main street, therefore nice and quiet during the night. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean too, but smelled a bit moldy. It rained a lot, so using a bike was not an option, I got help organizing a half day tuktuk tour in the ancient city.

There were many little ants in the room, but as it has a door opening to the garden and it was heavily raining, it was understandable.

I had the triple room and it was spacious, clean & comfortable with a huge shower room with a hot shower. The staff there are great, very attentive and caring, can't do enough for you. They even helped with cleaning my tuktuk and drying some wet gear. It's a very tidy place all round, inside and out. There's easy walking access to shops, including two big supermarkets & restaurants, and the ancient city is a short ride away. Great place to stay in Anuradhapura!

The only downside was the wifi. We had two rooms on the ground floor and both had very poor/non-existent wifi almost every time we tried to connect.

Villa DeLorenta is excellent value for money. We had a family room which slept 5 comfortably. Bradley, the host, keeps the hotel very clean, and he helped us with an affordable laundry service, setting us up with a driver to explore Anuradhapura, a driver to take us to our next stop, and dishes to use for our breakfast. We had a large bathroom with two shower heads, one with hot water, and a kettle and cups, AC and fan, and a mini fridge in our room. We were walking distance to KFC and other restaurants, plus the lake, which was very nice to walk around. We highly recommend a day trip to Mihintale while you are here. We were very satisfied with our stay at the Villa.

Included breakfast would be nice at a higher room rate, of course. The internet worked for social media, but not general search engines.

Our family had a wonderful stay, and we appreciated the proximity to the sacred city. The comfort and security of the place were excellent. Although meals are not provided at the villa, plenty of restaurants are nearby to suit any preference. The caretaker was extremely helpful and provided all the information we needed. This is a highly recommended place to stay!

Having a shower cubicle in the family bathroom would be a great addition, as it would help keep the rest of the area dry and more comfortable.

I cannot fault this property at all, the facilities were lovely and clean. What really made our stay amazing was the staff! The host Hetti went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and had everything we needed. He helped us book our bus for onward travel and even made sure we got onto our bus safely. The tuk-tuk tours he recommended were also amazing. Thank you Hetti for having us and for your kindness

Room was comfortable with fridge and kettle and was clean. There is a shared inside seating area. All good. The host, Hitti, tried to help us in anyway and arranged a tuk tuk tour of the ancient sites. Thank you! It is located in a nice quiet road next to a really busy area including supermarkets, wine stores and a KFC (!) So it is really a tuk tuk ride to anything eg restaurants in the evening.

Nothing really, is felt like it was good value.
