Staff were unbelievably helpful and assisted us with everything we needed. Went out of their way to help us. Stayed in 2 different rooms (last minute change of plan on our behalf) and both were beautiful, really clean and gorgeous view over the rice fields. Was clean and all amenities we needed. We even hired bikes for 1000Rp for the day to visit Anuradhapura with a phone holder and bike lock. Would go back in a heart beat! Kalum the Tuk Tuk driver was also amazing and very accommodating, took us to all the best spots for a fair price - we recommend asking for him!

Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful in arranging tuk tuks for us and a driver to our next destination. The room was clean and tidy. Peaceful views over the rice paddies with bulllocks, peacocks and the friendly local dogs passing their time away. Lovely rooftop viewing platform to watch stunning sunrises and sunsets with views to the ancient city Stupas. Steep stairs up so not recommended if you have difficulty climbing steps.

Bathroom was a little tired although it appears they are currently doing some renovations which would improve the room. However was still.reasonable value for the cost and the host and staff are great.

The view from the room was fantastic. We had large windows looking out through coconut palms over rice fields, and it was very peaceful and attractive. We hired bikes in Anuradhapura from Sun Cycles (although our accommodation did seem to have bikes to lend as well), and rode around the streets and rural villages in the area at dawn and dusk when it was cool and free from traffic. This was a lovely way to get to know the rural area around our accommodation. We also found that we could ride into the heart of Anuradhapura or to the Ancient city, without taking the busy main roads, either along the lake wall which was close by, or along the country roads (we used google maps to work this out).

If you're treating your own water, which we did everywhere we travelled, the water here tasted a bit agricultural. We certainly never got sick, but it didn't taste great and we were tempted to use the bottled water supplied.

The ‘Heaven upon rice fields’ guesthouse is the ideal place to stay if you’re going to Anuradhapura. We were in the room with the coconut tree and view over the rice fields. The view is stunning and the room was perfect: clean, good bed, AC. They also helped us with booking a temple tour and the wilpattu Safari. The lady who organised everything, did it perfectly and was very friendly. And on top of all this, the food is very good too. Nice breakfast en delicious dinner. 10/10 would recommend this place.

Nice hotel. Clean. Very friendly host. They have parking inside the hotel territory (it was important for us, because we had some sportive equipment packed on the roof of our car). At the breakfast, the host offered us to watch the roof while he's cooking eggs. They have special tower on the roof, with stairway. So you can rise high, enjoy the view and make some nice pics of landscape. Definitely worth it! Google leads you a bit wrong last 200m to the hotel - it offers you to choose left road, but there's no access to the hotel from the left. Choose right road.

Wonderful homestay in the middle of rice fields close to Anuradhapura. Our room had the best balcony and view into endless rice fields - enjoy the sunrise. Simple but nice breakfast. We loved the juice! A special thanks to the most friendly staff. We felt more than welcomed, had the nicest conversations and were provided with so much valuable information. They further organized a great Tuktuk trip to Mihintale - you should definitely go there for sunset! All in all we would highly recommend this lovely hotel and would stay here again :)

Absolutely incredible views from the room but also the spectecular roof top where you can hang out. Really spacious and modern house located just next to the rice fields. It was hard for us to leave..

We gave a 10 for the stay but if there was something to improve: to pay a bit more attention to the very small details like the bathroom door not properly closing and makes loud noises, the mosquito nets around the bed with holes, maybe to have better access to a fridge?

The room was clean and spacious with very comfortable bed. The AC as well as the fan saved us since there was 37°C outside. Delicious breakfast cooked and served by always smiling and polite staff. A beautiful 360° view from the roof.

Our room was on the ground floor and since the "terrace" had a tree in it (which is otherwise a beautiful element), it blocked the view and light from outside making the room really dark.

We loved staying at Heaven Upon Rice Fields. Yash and the family are so kind and will help you with anything you need. The room was clean and comfortable, and the view is great. Food was delicious (both dinner and breakfast). They adapted amazingly to my gluten-free needs and cooked me the one of the best Sri lankan breakfasts I had in the whole trip, including wadde, eggs, lots of sweet items, fruit and a passion fruit juice. It was a really lovely stay and would recommend to anyone!!

It’s a simple but comfortable place. The manager was really kind moreover the rest of the employees also looked after us. We rented two bikes so we could enjoy the city in a different way. We highly recommend it. Also we must mention that as soon as we needed a Tuk Tuk, Jara was there ready. He is such a good person. Not only does he drive for us, but also he stopped twice to showed us amazing places out of our knowledge. Ask for him there.
