Nice location and a well-organized, spacious hotel.

The front office staff is not supportive, lacks proper orientation, and does not provide adequate guidance. Their approach is unfriendly, and they require further training in hospitality.

Hotel is near the sea beach, all rooms are facing the sea, has a large area with exuberant vegetation and a garden very well maintained, two swimming pools, very friendly staff, 2 restaurants & 2 bars, good food - sea food specialties, more or less Indian taste, good and animated atmosphere - swimming pool aerobics, Yoga, live music, fun parties. Offers for many short trips (one day) available. The sea shore is steep and wild, big and rough waves most of the time - not recommended for swim. Near hotel available many sea food restaurant, with nice food and staff, but questionable hygiene. Prices outside hotel are much lower - a normal restaurant is 5 times cheaper, local food.

Hotel is tired, doesn't meet the expectation of 5 stars - rather 4 stars. Hotel has many years in service, but is a constant effort and maintenance, to maintain the quality quite reasonably.

Our stay at Thuryaa Kalutara was absolutely wonderful, thanks to the exceptional service from the staff—Chamath at the Front Office ensured a smooth check-in, Tharindu handled our reservations perfectly, Isuru provided attentive and friendly dining service, and Nimesh & Anju kept our evenings lively with fantastic drinks and great hospitality. The hotel itself is beautiful—luxurious rooms, stunning views, and top-notch amenities. But what truly stood out was the exceptional staff, who made us feel like VIPs. Highly recommend Thuryaa Kalutara for anyone visiting the area. A heartfelt thank you to the team for an unforgettable stay!

It was a good experience! Beautiful view from the room! 1st line from the ocean. Delicious food on the menu a-la carte, good varied breakfast. Special thanks to the staff at the restaurant "STUTI"!!! Also I want to highlight the spa!

need more attention in maintenance

Very spacious and properly arranged enough space for relaxing. Peole can nioy while maintaing privacy. Friendly and suportive staff. Very spacious pool area for kids. fine meals.

If the purpose is relaxing with kids this is the place to go. I prefer hotels with large garden area and spacious dining halls, oveesee the sea waves at the balcony. so i like this place and want to go bak again soon.

✅Room was so clean ✅Toilet was a tad small but OK. Can't find any hanging rack also inside the shower area to hang stuff. ✅Bed was very comfy. ✅Staffs were good.

✅Overall pool was good and clean but maybe renovate or put grouts on pool tiles to clear up those black stains on it,it looked old and with no maintenance. ✅Food is tasty but very less options. If you go to Kingsbury at the amount of 7k rupees you get even more options but here very less option with same price.

Staff was very friendly and supportive. Specially I appreciate the food and beverage Manager the short lady gave a very professional service even though we had a false promising from a different employee. Head chef is really professional. He carefully monitor the satisfaction of us. What a personality. Food is awesome.

615 room back door lock was broken. Fridge was not working properly. Make sure your meal type with them first (set menu/ buffet) or else you will be disappointed. But FnB manager covered and handle it nicely and professionally.

Had a great stay at this place last month . Food was delicious and there were many choices too. There are two pools in the hotel. The second pool has a pool for little kids with low water levels which is great. Not only swimming you can do many other activities like Darts, volleyball, cricket. Plenty of space to have your own peace. There us a gym and also a jogging path if you need to do some cardio. Loved staying at this place. Definitely I would recommend to anyone who looks for a calm and quiet stay with a great service.
