We stayed at Ayana Seas for five nights. This small resort is located nearby a small village south of Colombo. Took about an hour and a half from the airport. The vibes were quiet, super chill and peaceful. The resort is right on the beach, and it's one of the best we hit up in Sri Lanka. All the staff were super friendly. The beach is gorgeous, but the waves were a bit gnarly for swimming when we were there, so we just hung out by the pool. The food was good overall, and you gotta try the seafood sizzling dish platter—it was bomb. Bed was very comfortable. We got lucky and saw a bunch of baby turtles hatching on the resort beach. We even helped some of the little dudes find their way to the ocean. All in all, it's a sweet and serene resort.

During our recent 8-night stay at Ayana Sea, we experienced a truly memorable and relaxing vacation. From the moment we arrived, the friendly and attentive staff made us feel welcome, ensuring our comfort throughout our stay. Our villa was exceptionally spacious, featuring excellent air conditioning that provided a cool retreat from the tropical climate. The room's modern amenities and tasteful decor enhanced our overall experience. The resort's beachfront location was a highlight, offering stunning ocean views and easy access to the sandy shores. We enjoyed leisurely walks along the beach and appreciated the serene atmosphere that Ayana Sea provides. Dining at the Ocean Secrets Restaurant was a delightful experience. The menu offered a variety of delicious dishes, and although the prices were slightly higher, the quality and presentation justified the cost. The resort's well-maintained swimming pool and beautifully landscaped gardens offered additional spaces for relaxation. Overall, our 8-night stay at Ayana Sea exceeded our expectations. The combination of luxurious accommodations, attentive service, and a tranquil environment made it a perfect getaway for us as a couple seeking relaxation and rejuvenation.

These are not major issues, but addressing them would make this hotel truly exceptional: - The Wi-Fi was slow. - The room lights occasionally turned on by themselves at night after being switched off via the electronic panel. - The bathroom was extremely humid and hot, giving the impression of being in a sauna. - The flooring could have been cleaner. We also encountered persistent local vendors outside the hotel who repeatedly offered us tours, which became quite bothersome.

Beautiful and spacious Boutique Villa Resort located directly at the beach in Wadduwa. We stayed during Buddhism Holidays April,2025 at the resort. Exceptional, very friendly and professional staff. The chef Sisira and his service team around AK is the one of the best kitchen and service teams we ever met in Sri Lanka. The food was very fresh and delicious. But we should not forget that the entire staff from pool , gardener’s until house keeping- Mr. Prabeeth & team and Receiption desk was very professional and polite. Thanks to you all for unforgettable 5 days. We hope to see you again next year.

The beachside was very polluted with empty plastic bottles and further garbage from the seashore. In front of the hotel a daily cleaning was done. Nevertheless in a 5- star resort you should do a little bit more initiatives and support further cleaning of the beachside beyond your own property. We took some private activities and cleaned the beach with the local surf boy.

Only one restaurant and one menu. Not ideal for long stays. No other restaurants close by outside the resort.

Outstanding beachside resort to cap off our Sri Lanka visit. Very well kept and beautiful property with excellent food and extremely friendly and courteous staff. Large well appointed room and spacious luxurious bathroom. Mr. Laksiri, as the manager was always present to ensure high quality along with young and capable front desk staff including Ashen. Mr. Pradeep made sure all housekeeping needs were satisfied. The pool man (forgot his name) became a friend. And, Chef Lalith was the star for us with his Michelin-caliber clean kitchen, prompt staff, and food that will make us come back for sure. Having stayed in numerous places around the world, this one really touched our hearts and easily became a home for 4 days. Thanks to all.

Our stay was absolutely faultless and we had an amazing time at Ayana Sea, we did splash out and booked one of the Premier King Ocean View villas with a plunge pool and bath but it was completely worth it and exceeded our expectations! Absolutely everything was perfect for a nice relaxing end to our Sri Lankan trip. The town of Wadduwa was a short walk away which had ATM’s, shops etc and we strolled back via the beach and talked to very friendly locals along the way. The drive back to the airport took about 1 hour 20mins and was by far the best stretch of road we saw in Sri Lanka!! All of the staff couldn’t do enough for us and were all lovely people, we were very sad to leave!

The terrace was amazing. Lots of comfortable places to sit and watch the sun go down. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was luxurious as were the towels and robes. The sizzling fish platter was a real highlight of our holiday and the lunch surprisingly delicious.

If we had paid the full price I would have been disappointed about the lack of focus to guest experience. We stayed in hotels in Sri Lanka where we paid as little at £25 a night and the staff could not do enough for us. We had to seek out towels for the pool, a request for an additional key card took hours to action, there was no obvious way to order room service. No wine available by the glass, Nobody on the desk or security when we left etc. The cleanliness and safety in and around the plunge pool was concerning

I like just everything! Its not possible to not like something there, staff are so great ,they make sure you leave Sri Lanka that it's best country on planet . Hotel room is so beautiful, view from my room will never leave my heart ,I love each detail of this hotel ,art everywhere ! Bathroom is art ,evenings on terrace in swimming pool is for lifetime memory ,all staff becoming yoir friends ,you guys doing such a good job ,thank you!

We only booked this to be closer to the airport for our return flight, but wished we could have stayed longer. Set in lovely grounds next to a deserted beach, we could have really relaxed for longer. Chef Sisra offers a full & varied menu, he was charming even he sat with us & introduced his team.

Nothing to dislike

We celebrated our honeymoon in Sri Lanka and found this gem to spend towards the end of our trip. It's quiet and quaint. The resort is smaller than what I expected but it was stunning. Green, private beach and private pool if you want to detach from everything. The best part of the resort was the food. Chef Mahindo, who won multiple awards, and his team were amazing. We had a full board and our tummy were extremely full but our souls were happy. Chef M even hosted a sri lanka cooking class which he was very good at explaining and educating us about each of the spices. Can't wait to replicate it at home in London. The room and bathroom were huge. They were clean as I expected. The dining staff and housekeeping were great. They were polite and provided great service. Do note, there is limited activity within the resort when we were there so if you want to explore nearby, it's a 45 min drive but super easy to get uber or pick me. If you need a quiet getaway from the crowd, it's a perfect destination. Highly recommend!

The resort was on a pricier side so we thought it would have more activities available. We were glad they were able to offer us the cooking class after we requested it. Communication from the front desk could be better and improved on.
