The location is beautiful and very convenient to see Polonaruwa Ancient City. The food at the restaurant is great (if overpriced), the bed and room are super comfortable and the shower is good. The pool and massages are really nice also.

The place is a bit run down. The staff is friendly but not the most efficient: having breakfast took over 1h even though we ordered everything at once and mentioned we wanted to leave soon for sightseeing... also we were the only ones having breakfast at that time so it really makes no sense. Plus some of the breakfast order came wrong (or never came). Overall I'd say the price is really misadjusted to the service, the place is nice, but not 200€ a night nice

The view, location, facilities, staff, pool, and breakfast were all amazing. This was our one and only "fancy" hotel during our 2 week stay - and it was a welcome break from other budget "hotels".

The carpet in the room looked super stained. It would be better to strip the carpet in complete and have some area rugs near the bed and couch area. Water at dinner was charged (a small water bottle - which was charged at 4 times the price of the same bottle bought at the local shops).

Great location to discover the Ancient City of Polonnaruwa, followed by a sunset swim in the pool. The rooms are large and comfortable, although slightly dated. Staff organized two bicycles for us on short notice and are generally very kind and helpful.

The food was not quite as inspiring as we've come to expect from Sri Lankan cuisine. The room could have been a bit cleaner - carpeted floors are tricky. Considering our other hotels in Sri Lanka, this one was on the rather expensive side for what it offered.

Can't beat the location. We were here for only one night, booked two rooms including the royal suite. Was told on site that we couldn't use the room but the staff gave us another suite. Was a bit disappointed but they really tried their best to make up with some nice offerings, including a boat tour. The view is unbelievably beautiful, place was quiet and tranquil, and a walk at the ruins next door at sunset is simply a magical moment. Small pool but very cute. Service is good, everyone is friendly and smiling. Really loved it.

Beautiful room with a gorgeous view of the lake. Front desk staff were very nice and accommodating. Good Sri Lankan breakfast!

Fittings and carpet were somewhat dated. Staff in the restaurant seemed uncertain of how to serve food and drinks, that is, the service took longer than it should have. Menu was slightly limited. Pool was small and not entirely clean.

The coffee maker in the room was really good. Food in restaurant was really great. Great location.

The carpets in the room were absolutely ridiculous thing for a hot and humid country. The swimming pool needed refurbishment as the edges of it were not even and it was possible to cut yourself. Also it was not possible to walk to the car park without local souvenir sellers surrounding you and trying to sell absolutely useless stuff as they did not react to the word "No, not needed" and kept showing their stuff.

A delightful place to stay for a quiet and restful visit to Polonnaruwa. The view across the Lake is beautiful. Our room was huge and very comfortable, and the staff were really helpful. We spent two days exploring the ancient city by bicycle, which was great fun and very convenient from the hotel (and we were grateful to borrow umbrellas!).

The Western restaurant food was quite repetitive and not as good as it could be - better to ask for the Sri Lankan options...

Location is great, overlooking the lake and just a few steps away from the archeological site. The lake view room is really nice, large and comfortable. The restaurant is also good, the breakfast is amazing.

The swimming pool is ridiculously small and a bit dirty. There are only a couple of sunbeds for the whole place and so you have to fight to get them. IT wouldn't hurt to provide one set for each of the lake view rooms, we're only talking about 3-4 rooms.

On arrival we were blown away with the small but perfect hotel. The staff were incredible and couldn’t do enough. The views were breathtaking and the birds mesmerising. The plunge pool was just perfect. Whole place well maintained and loved. The ancient city is just across the road so perfectly placed for sight seeing

Fantastic place to stay for several nights and discover the ancient city of Polonnaruwa as well as just relax by the lakeside. I definitely recommend booking one of the lakeside rooms which come with a lovely private terrace overlooking the lawn and lake - awesome sunsets! The location is a 1 min walk from the Polonnaruwa museum, and a 10 min walk from the park's main entrance. However, in the hotel premises there is no hustle and bustle from this proximity. All very serene. Staff go out of their way to make the stay perfect and help with onward travel. Excellent! Last but not least: The food was excellent. I had the Sri Lankan breakfast which was delicious and plenty! Also ate at the restaurant for lunch and dinner, western as well as Sri Lankan dishes, and all of them were tasty and fresh! Would definitely book again!

The room could have been cleaner - nothing major, but finishing touches (had a used teaspoon on the coffee tray, mosquito net above the bed looked pretty grey).
