Its a beautiful property, as seen in the pictures, though slightly older.

Service. I checked in midday, there was only one waiter looking after the pool area and the bar and he did not speak english at all. The food in the restaurant is quite bad. Also when you order a meal things randomly show up on your table. For instance my side dish came first floowed by the appetiser then the main dish and then bread:(

My wife and I enjoyed four wonderful days at the Owl and Pussycat Hotel! The room was very large and comfortable, with a view directly over the property out to the ocean. The pool was fantastic, the restaurant had a great breakfast/dinner, the staff were extra friendly, and the location was close to Galle via tuk tuk. It's also only a 400 metre walk to feed the turtles right at the beach!

There wasn't much to not like about the Owl and the Pussycat!

They upgraded us to a 2 bed apartment as a group of 4 friends celebrating for the weekend. Beautiful setting right out to the ocean.

The breakfast, as it was the end of season, we weren’t told we had to pre order hoppers , hollandaise sauce was cold. It is the tropics but they do need a better way to present the “buffet” at breakfast as most stuff was covered in fruit fly. Again I understand a hazard of the location but we didn’t experience that anywhere else around Sri Lanka Also due to end of season no massage person, if they had to ask I’m sure we could have kept a spa person really busy so that was a shame but they did tell us were to go in town.

The hotel staff were exceptional. Really genuine caring service, a really solid team. They went out of their way to help us with information and it felt more like we were staying at someone's home rather than in a hotel. The design of the place is delightful; really whimsical and a nice flair for detail. There was a family of monkeys hanging out in the trees overhanging our balcony.

These are all minor issues overall.... The wifi didn't work very well in the room. There was a light fitting that had fallen off and was dangling from its cord on our patio. The windows could do with the salt from the sea air being cleaned off more fastidiously.

The property is tastefully decorated true to its theme. It is a delightfully quaint hotel. The staff are accommodating but not overbearing. A shoutout to Emma who was an absolute delight to deal with and assisted us with a couple of tricky situations. We booked three different calibres of rooms and all were charming. Food was yummy but the portions were small. We mostly ate outside of the hotel. Things in the hotel don’t necessarily work as they might @ home but that’s part of the adventure. Overall we were very comfortable here and were a party of seven people of all different ages.

The tuk tuk drivers who reside just outside the property. We nicknamed them “The Tuk tuk mafia!” They are very territorial and any other driver who ventures onto their turf is given an aggressive scolding. We were also subjected to their aggression and scamming on three occasions. The hotel security make their presence known when the tuk tuk drivers drop you off but seem unable to really assist. I have never experienced this issue anywhere else in Asia. I am not sure what the hotel can do to fix but they have assured us that they will try. Unfortunately you are forced to use the tuk tuk drivers for transport as there are no other alternatives and the hotel is in a location that is not within walking distance to the main Streets.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Owl and Pussycat Hotel, and I must say it exceeded my expectations in many ways. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making check-in smooth and hassle-free. The hotel staff were kind enough to surprise me with a room upgrade. The room was spacious, clean, and the views from the room were stunning offering both pool and sea views. The hotel also offered complimentary Wi-Fi, which was fast and reliable. What really stood out to me was the location. The hotel is situated in a prime area, close to local attractions, shopping, and dining options. Overall, the Owl and Pussycat Hotel offers excellent value for money, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The combination of great service, modern amenities, and a fantastic location made my stay memorable. I look forward to staying here again on my next visit to Sri Lanka.

Great location and views. Room was large with a comfortable bed. Staff were friendly and helped to organize laundry on short notice. Quiet and set back from the street. Generous yum breakfast included.

Had some minor issues with water pressure and heat but didn’t impact us too much.

staff was exceptionally friendly and went the extra mile for anything we needed with our kids. would return always again. lovely pool, clean rooms, amazing view and he location is good too. you can take a tuk tuk and within 5-10 mins you’ll reach hikkaduwa where you’ll find some shops and restaurants.

The variety of dishes was not much and the portions of the food were rather small. But the staff will try to make anything you want.

A beautifully themed boutique hotel around the famous nursery rhyme with attention to detail and art throughout the property. Very private with beach access. Very attentive staff and beautiful food!
