Breakfast ok, Nice loation Nice staff

Very Smaal Room, few international channels on the TV, not Norwegian TV Limited selection of toppings for breakfast The stay was too expensive in relation to the offer, the rooms were small. because of the price, there could have been better offers for food outside of breakfast time, drinks were OK. There was little advance information about parking options, it could have been stated that long-term parking was only possible down on the pier. bathing beach was promised within approximately 700 m, we did not find this, and it was a long distance to other bathing beaches

We chose Hotell Backagarden because we were stopping for just one night on our way to a funeral. We chose them because we were expecting to arrive very late and they could accommodate that. Communication beforehand was excellent. We easily found a parking space in the local area although signage was a bit confusing. Rooms were brilliant, breakfast was lovely and our hosts couldn't have been kinder.

Because it was such a flying visit we didn't get a chance to check out the local area but we are seriously considering a return trip to do so.

Location was easy to find and navigate to/from. Breakfast was great for us, but we aren't overly picky eaters. We had the same (very delicious) options for breakfast available to us each day. Bed was comfortable. Staff was very friendly and provided resources on things in the area. Awesome stay.

I am slightly above average height (6 foot 2 inches) but don't consider myself overly tall. The bathroom/shower was usable, but not the most comfortable to use. I don't know if each room is the same and it didn't hinder the stay.

Smallish rooms in cosy house, but well designed and thus comfortable. Nice local breakfast with decent range of foods considering this is a very small hotel. Proprietess we met at breakfast and was very pleasant and helpful. The location in an old local house in central Ystad is excellent for visiting the old town, and prime sties such as Ales Stenar and Glimmengehus are within a hours' drive. No reception on site, but this was entirely mitigated by clear SMS instructions sent the day before - keys available once inside.

There is no parking beside the hotel, (drop off OK) but road parking (overnight free, otherwise 4 hours paid limit) within 100 m; there are formal car parks (not used by us) nearby. The short staircase to the rooms on the first floor twists and is steep but manageable with a large suitcase if fit - no assistance or lift.

A beautiful small hotel that includes a delicious breakfast. The host is engaging and friendly. It’s in a great location with easy walking to the city center. Parking is just down the street and is inexpensive. The part we really enjoyed was the garden where we drank wine and shared a simple meal from local stores after a day biking to Ales Stenar.

The shower leaked.

Very lovely rooms filled with beautiful and tasteful decorations. A lot of love has gone into the decor. It is fun too, the little birds on the lamps were great. The breakfast selection offered was wonderful and extremely generous. The owner was extremely helpful and friendly with perfect English. This is a hidden gem! I would definitely stay again if I was in the area.

Cosy, quirky, but in the nicest possible way.

There was nothing not to like. However, we were prepared to carry our bags up the slightly narrow staircase, and deal with the challenges of parking one's car in Ystad ... None of which is the hotel's fault of course. And they provided an excellent level of information in advance.

Lovely place to stay in Ystad. Only a short walk from the train to the front door. From there its another very short 200m walk to the main street. Our lovely host made us feel so welcome and greeted us every morning with a smile. We felt very comfortable and at home. We especially enjoyed our morning breakfast in the sunny back courtyard.

No parking. Extremely small bedroom where I couldn’t open my suitcase no matter how I tried to position it. Some rooms seem much larger than mine so maybe not a problem except in my room (3) Some mold on the window sill. Curtain only covered half the window to block out the light at night.

The entire hotel is very homey, with cozy rooms, comfy beds, and a lovely shared area downstairs for breakfast or socializing. The garden is also particularly nice. The owners are very friendly, welcoming, and make sure you feel welcome.
