We stayed here the second time, and really like the hotel. Good location, with easy access to hiking trails in the surrounding valleys. Comfortable room with free soft drinks. Most of the staff speaks English. Air conditioner in the room helped us to survive the tropical nights of the heat wave. Restaurant is not exciting, but OK. It stops at 21.00, but there is a possibility to get cold snacks and drinks until 23.00, which helped as a lot.

Air conditioner is kind of too powerful even at the lowest fan speed and too close to bed, which caused us some inconvenience. Breakfast is not good for the level of the hotel. Practically no cold cuts - a disgrace and well below any comparable or lower level hotels in the region. Otherwise breakfast is OK (selection of pastries, etc.)

Room was very comfortable with good quality facilities. Bathroom was clean and had choice between bath and Douche - so we could book one room with douche and one room with bath. Dinner was superb and post dinner Grappa was fabulous. Local wine was delicious at affordable prices. The service at the restaurant for dinner was outstanding. Also all the staff were very kind and overall the service was excellent

Breakfast was not so good and was hurried up - apparently there was a large lunch meeting - we had to finish our coffee outside the breakfast area even though we were well within the stipulated breakfast timing

We felt very welcome from check-in and right through our stay. The room was spacious and well-equipped, although the WC was small. We dined at the hotel's restaurant and were delighted with our choices. I especially liked the grilled fruit with my veal curry dish, and the fromage plate was pleasantly full with local and other selections. I would recommend discovering, as we did, some of the neighbouring wines.

If one thing disappointed, it would have to be the breakfast, which seemed sparse with no 'hot' options. Also, the single slice of ham on each wrapped plate seemed frugal and not in keeping with the generous surroundings of the hotel.

Very quiet location. Clean and tidy. Staff Very friendly. Restaurant not open every evening, but they did provide a simple basic menu with limited opening times for food. Mini bar in the room was free, i.e water, soft drinks in fridge. Cannot comment on the other facilities as we only stayed one night.

For us, no complaints

Breakfast was plentiful and a good range. The property was a little further out of town than we thought when we booked, however after going into town we were so glad to be staying out. They offered a beautiful bar area with great service and we ate in the restaurant which delivered great food. Very nice place to stay

Nothing at all

I loved the immaculately maintained old style Swiss hotel keeping. Delightful staff. The Kew over the vineyard was delightful.

The mattress was not up to the standard of everything else and the sweetbreads “special” at dinner could have benefited from a little more sweetbreads and rather less (excellent and fresh) mushroom filler.

I have stayed at the hotel on several occasions. It is conveniently located in the Rhine valley for a number of skiing resorts. The hotel is beautifully appointed inside and out and in my view offers very good value for a high class establishment. It also offers an excellent restaurant for dinner and breakfast. The staff are very pleasant and there are good car parking facilities.

I would not make any major criticisms. Arguably the lack of a formal bar is a drawback but service is very efficient in the spacious and attractive lounge area.

Amazing place, pleasant staff that explains everything, robes and towels of all sizes, very clean and pleasant. Very good breakfast, quiet and pastoral place. Parking adjacent to the entrance, highly recommended.

a bit expensive

The hotel is located between Sierre and Sion, in Uvrier, 10 minutes walk to the railway station. This makes it an excellent place for the abundant hiking possibilities in the area. Our room was spacious, and very quiet; no noise from the street during the night and no noise from the hotel guests. Air conditioning helped a lot during this year's heat wave, but we were also able to sleep with the balcony door open. Bath tube, free refreshments in the minibar were very helpful as well. Excellent Wi-Fi. Convenient parking lot. The restaurant was not particularly exciting, but service and food quality were very good. It works without an afternoon break, usual in the area, and this made our schedule more flexible. Overall, we had a rare feeling that we understand what we paying for, staying in a more expensive hotel. Will not hesitate to come back.

While the staff of the hotel mostly spoke good to perfect English, the young lady at reception was not able to speak German and had only basic English, as well as a limited knowledge about the hotel. Her colleagues were able to resolve some issues caused by this, but the whole situation is quite strange for the level of the hotel. Breakfast is overall OK, with an excellent choice of pastries and fruits. However a cold cuts selection (2 sorts of meat, 1 sort of cheese) is really a disgrace. Even "no-star" village facilities in Switzerland offer better choice. Especially strange to see this in the area, where cold cuts plate is considered a regional dish.

Probably the best Hotel in the region. I have never seen such big rooms in any other hotel in Switzerland. Everything is big, spacious and very well kept: the rooms, the bathrooms, the public areas, the staircases, the corridors, the Garden, the Parking area! At nighttime you can see from the balcony of the room the lights of Nendaz and other villages in the mountains. You can also catch a glimpse of the illuminated castles of Sion, if the trees are not blocking the view. The beds are very good and the bathrooms spacious and excellent. There is good HVAC in the rooms. The public sitting area is very spacious and well furnished. The garden and the terrace are excellent in good weather. The double-glazed windows block the noise from the nearby motorway. The Hotel is just a few minutes from the center of Sion by car or train (the train takes only 4 minutes!). You can be in Crans Montana and other resorts in very little time by car. The Hotel even makes available bicycles at no cost.
