My stay at LaePhu DooNa Resort was nothing short of magical. 🙌 From the moment I arrived, the owners made me feel like family with their incredible kindness and genuine hospitality. The resort itself is a gem, with stylish rooms that perfectly blend modern comfort with charming local decor. One of the highlights of my stay was the pool access room – it felt like a dream to step out of my room and directly into the refreshing pool, especially under the warm sun. But what truly made my experience unforgettable was the chance to explore the surrounding village and fields. Walking around, I felt a deep connection to the local culture and nature. The serene beauty of the fields and the friendly smiles of the villagers made each walk a peaceful and enriching experience. The restaurant at the resort was equally impressive, serving delicious food that left me eagerly anticipating each meal. The owners' dedication to ensuring their guests have an exceptional stay was evident in every detail. Everything was perfect!

My wife and I loved our stay here. We initially chose the hotel based on its convenient location to the sticky waterfall, Bua Tong, which is only a 15 minute drive. The hotel exceeded our expectations. The 360 degree views are amazing. Our room was very clean and modern and had great WiFi and facilities. The owners were kind enough to leave gifts for us on our bed for our arrival, including a handmade bag. We had a great dinner at the restaurant and a superb breakfast in the morning, including lots of additional fresh fruit which was given to us as a gift. We also made use of the laundry service, which was completed very quickly and at a very reasonable price. The hotel had a lovely atmosphere, including a family -orientated vibe. The staff are very friendly. We would like to make a special mention for the owner’s son, Floke, who was especially helpful. Floke drove us to the sticky waterfall and was kind enough to take photos on his own camera! On the way back to the hotel, he also suggested that we stopped off at the Mae Ngat Dam, which is well worth a visit! We highly recommend!

The property itself was beautiful. The landscaping and the room were all very updated and extremely well done!! Staff were beyond nice and gracious with us during our stay! The restaurant at the hotel doesn’t take card and I wasn’t aware of that. My boyfriend and I ordered 3 meals for dinner and had a few drinks as well. Once it was time to pay the bill we gave our card and the staff said they only accept cash. We only had about 120 Baht with us and it wasn’t nearly enough to cover the food and drinks we consumed. The payment apps in the USA and in Thailand didn’t crossover and so they ended up driving us into town and allowing us to pay our tab. After squaring up with the money, they then offered to drive us for over an hour back into the city because our GRAB cars we called kept cancelling on us. They stopped at one of the biggest temples in Chiang Mai for my boyfriend and I to go see and it was absolutely beautiful! Staff was incredibly sweet and patient with us in dealing with the meal payment situation.

There were ants everywhere in the apartment. The balcony doors didn’t close all the way so when we had the lights on at night there were over 30 bugs that flew in and were all over us and the room. We had to sit with our lights off all evenings because we didn’t want to attract the bugs to the light inside. We also had two lizards crawling on the curtains and one on the floor. If you don’t want to sleep with ants, flying bugs or lizards this place isn’t for you… The property is also far from any sort of store or restaurant so you have to eat at the restaurant at the hotel grounds and be sure to go grocery shopping before arrival.

The accommodation was absolutely stunning. The room was equipped very modern and with lovely details. The host was super friendly and very helpful. It is located outside of Chiang Mai (about 1 hr car drive) on the countryside between rice fields and a coconut plantation. The views are spectacular especially during sunrise and sunset. You can lend bicycles for free and we can highly recommend that! We spend two nights here which was just right in our opinion.

Not many vegetarian options for dinner

Amazing hotel- one of the best places we’ve ever stayed in. The location is gorgeous, and the rooms are finished to such a high standard with all the modern comforts (soft sheets, great lighting, comfortable bed and great bathroom, plus Netflix on tv). We stayed in the one bedroom villa and couldn’t recommend it enough for proper relaxation. It’s a family business and everyone was so friendly and made our stay very comfortable, with recommendations around the area and letting us check out late. Dinner and Breakfast were excellent also, and a saltwater l pool to top it off! Our only regret was not staying longer :)

Perfect location for bird watchers and nature lovers. Peaceful and beautiful room. Friendly and helpful staff. Great place to escape the city.

Many ants in the kettle... Can hear the noises from the neighbouring room pretty easily, but they quiet down after 10 pm. Not many available hiking trails around there.

DooNa Resort is a peaceful oasis among rice fields. We had the family room which was spacious (two adults, kids 3 & 5), clean and nicely decorated. The room was just by the pool which the kids loved (although not heated so water somewhat cold). The staff was very nice and the dinner was excellent with greate Thai tastes (we had fish with different spices). The breakfast was ok with eggs and white toast (alternatively Thai breakfast with rice), could have had some more selection, but the coffee was very good.

We were a bit suprised when we checked out that we only could pay for extras (dinner etc) in cash when we paid for the stay using credit card and were not told card was otherwise not accepted. We almost did not have enough cash to pay the hotel and the driver to the airport, so this should be informed before arriving (or they should start accepting card!)

I don’t write reviews but this place was something very special. We stayed at DooNa Resort over Christmas. Initially, we were supposed to stay one night, but seeing how nice the place is and how much there is to do in the surrounding area, we extended the reservation. DooNa is the best place we have stayed in Thailand so far. Beautiful, clean, very very nice accommodation and the pool is just a cherry on the top. We got a very warm and friendly welcome from a nice young guy Floke. He gave us many ideas of what to do and where to go in the area. A very very nice and humble young man. To our surprise, we received another Christmas present from him! I would definitely stay here again next time and recommend to my friends. 10 points in every sense! Well done Floke and the DooNa team!

Absolutely nothing

Everything. The resort is family run. The couple who own the resort are amazing people. They are very friendly and always want to serve since the time they picked me up at the airport until they dropped me off at my next hotel. They even drove me to the long neck village when I said I wanted to visit it. They also gave me a tour to a nearby beautiful temple. They always said they take care of me (which they did). Breakfast is wondeful every morning. Food is good. The resort is surrounded by rice field. Garden is nice. Comfortable room where I can open the curtain and see the nature. Birds are everywhere. I really appreciate the owners.
