The softest bed I ever laid on, great WiFi, peaceful location, beautiful room and VERY clean, new towels and water everyday, amazing massage lady, friendly staff

I think this was just circumstances but noise was an issue there was a lot of screaming crying children for my first 3/4 days who took over the pool area so there was no escaping the screams! It wasn’t much of a retreat for me like I hoped, but maybe staff could give parents a friendly reminder about noise control. Also the dogs start to howl each morning at 6am so if you like to sleep in I would request a room away from the entrance. Lots of mosquitoes bring repellent!

I visited this resort with my mum for some quality family time in the Chiang Mai Countryside. We did not know what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. Pete and Ing are exceptional hosts and couldn't do enough to make our stay more pleasant. Checkin was seamless, the room was a decent size and clean and to top it off the resort restaurant and Ing's cooking was amazing. Wholesome, homemade food that tasted so good! We had a choice of french and new zealand red wines aswell to make us a little more happy! Big thanks for such a nice stay and we will be back.

Couldn't have asked for more. Everything was top!

When you stay here, it's more than just a resort. It's an experience! Not one to be missed. As soon as we arrived, we had a warm greeting from the hosts Yen and Pete, who straight away made us feel welcome and at ease, they were also very accommodating throughout our stay, even helping us get around and encouraging us to explore the local area. Pete was happy to share their story over a beer, and Yen did amazing at recommending and preparing us some wonderful traditional food, being really considerate of our allergies too as everything was made from scratch, a must try!

Everyone and everything! Was a beautifully well maintained property! Ying and Pete are amazing hosts and I felt so taken care of from the moment I arrived! Ying and her beautiful niece 🥰 were such lovely people who I enjoyed talking with so much! Nothing was a problem. Ying is an amazing cook! I recommend eating at her restaurant. I just pre ordered my meal and time and then came down to eat at the lovely on-site restaurant! I had a wonderful day having a nice long walk around the village and then a few hours by the pool! The pool was so cool and was very well maintained ( like the whole property) and I just relaxed the afternoon away by the pool looking at the rice fields. It was truly magical! My accommodation was extremely clean and the bed was so comfortable. I just snuggled down at night into my cozy room! I really really did not want to leave! Thank you so much to Ying and her lovely niece. You are just the most beautiful warm kind and friendly people and thank you so so much for making me feel so special! I look forward to coming back next time I am in Chiang Mai! They also arranged my taxi back into town and my driver was Ying’s nephew - he was such a lovely and polite young man!! If you are looking to relax in a 5 star setting and also be really well looked after I have no hesitation in highly recommending Country Retreat! Everything was FABULOUS!

Nothing except I only stayed 2 nights - wish it had been longer!!!

We were here for the second time and really enjoyed our stay again. The homemade food is delicious and there is something for everyone from Thai food to Western food. The owners are simply fantastic. Rent a bike and you can easily reach all the sights in the area.

Country retreat is located in the middle of a rice field, so if you need a quiet night's sleep, the frogs, crickets, and birds will spoil your plans.

The place and the garden looks beautiful, yet we didn't had time to fully explore it. The owners was very friendly.

The location is in a country area, surrounded by beautiful rice fields, which is one of the reasons to go there. Yet, during night time, the noises from the nature outside, frogs and crickets, was too loud and we couldn't sleep. Nothing to blame the owners, which was friendly and understating, yet if one find it hard to sleep with noises he might want to reconsider this place

Breakfast and dinner is amazing , i never eat pancakes in holland but now i ate them with banana every day for breakfast haha. Environment is incredible. People are lovely and warm. Room is very clean, and so is the pool.

Nothing. They are genuine people who try more than their best to make this place feel like an oasis of rest and peace.

Location of the resort is out in the countryside away from the city. It seems to be in a dormitory area for the city, so in the early mornings and early evenings there is a lot of traffic on the main roads to and from the city. Probably better to stay in the city if that is the prime purpose of your visit, however if you want peace and quiet and to enjoy the countryside it is ideal. There are bikes and scooters available for local journeys. The breakfasts are all freshly made and delicious. More coffee would be nice. We also ate in some evenings and that food was also excellent. Pete and Ying are good hosts, but be aware bar and restaurant opening and closing times are generally strictly adhered to. When the village public address speakers played some music one morning the resort's two dogs sat together at the end of the drive singing along - a site I have never seen before, and most amusing.

We stayed at the time of maximum air pollution in the Chiang Mai area, in fact it was noted as having the most polluted air of any city in the world at that time. Obviously completely out of the resort's control but worth noting and avoiding if you have any breathing difficulties whatsoever. Any other time of year we would have struggled to make any negative comments.

I originally booked for one night but ended up staying 5 more, that says it all really - it was too lovely to leave! Pete and Ying are the nicest people you could meet, they run their place meticulously but are always available for a chat and to make you feel welcome. The setting is idyllic, the bungalows are spotless, super comfortable, well designed and furnished and there’s a lovely pool area. Ying’s cooking is fantastic. Hands down one of my favourite places I’ve ever stayed and I’ve stayed at a lot.

Nothing not to like!
