I was really disappointed with the staff. First of all they don't speak English at all. I would expect this in 4* hotel that is next to the Maryinsky palace. But we managed somehow. But I was highly disappointed with the attitude of the guard when we were leaving. We needed to get to the train station by taxi. The internet did not work, so we askwd the receptuonist/gard to call us a taxi. He only answered "no taxi" and went to his bed again. Horrible aproach to customers.

Spacious rooms, great city vista views, friendly staff, great shower, warm rooms, comfortable beds. Safe location near to well-protected government buildings and a very well-equipped air raid shelter. I would definitely stay here again knowing I was in safe hands.

The current midnight curfew means many bars close at 10pm, so it would be nice if the hotel bar opened past 8pm.

Great location, quite in the night, fantastic view from the balcony (I’ve stayed on the 10th floor). Fair price. I’ve enjoyed staying in the Soviet style hotel that has a history, still nice old details in the room (but in general the hotel needs some love- some proper renovation to keep it alive)

Bad smell in the bathroom, the facilities in the room and bathroom need to be repaired (not replaced!)

Hotel was centrally located, however due to some road closures around the hotel it is best to take a cab or Uber to Independence Square. I did not find this as a detriment.

I would have enjoyed more of the facilities (spa) being open, however due to the current war in Ukraine I understand why that may not be possible.

Good hotel and location. The interior in some areas and room seam old-fashioned but everything is comfortable. Checkin and checkout with the help of guard instead of clerk was a bit odd. Breakfast is inexpensive and rich, you order meals from menu though.

Very clean with very helpful staff. The room was very spacious.

Unfortunately the gym was closed the entire stay and this had been one of the primary reasons I selected to stay there originally.

There's no fitness room although their page states that there is. They say it's closed due to the war but it's just an excuse because it's on the first floor and the hotel is open anyway...
