The Rose & Crown has a superb location overlooking the village of Bainbridge three or four miles from Hawes. It's a comfortable old inn with plenty of room inside and out. Parking is excellent, nice views, and the interiors are full of country charm. Comfortable bed in a very clean room. My breakfast was superb. The sausages came from the local butcher and were gorgeous. The hosts, a man and wife team who've only been in post for six weeks, were extremely hospitable.

There was nothing I didn't like.

The classic charm of the place was great and the staff just couldn't do more for us. They were so attentive and made so much effort with our 4 year old too. We felt so welcome. it was lovely. The food was good too and I know they are still building their kitchen following a take over of ownership and we couldn't fault it. The room and beds were comfortable and well sized. perfect for our needs.

The only negative we had was that the water pressure wasn't very good but then it is an old building. We managed, and it was fine for our two night stay.

Emma and John are great hosts. They took over management in April so ignore any reviews before hand. A really warm welcome, great portions of well cooked comfort food. The mash is great and chips superb. Beer excellent. Bed one of the most comfy I've had for ages. Its facilities aren't the best, but E&J more than compensate. I truly hope they turn the inn's fortunes around, they deserve it.

Nothing. Yes the plumbing could be better, the rooms need redecorating and rewiring, but that isn't really what the place is about.

The breakfast was cooked to order and excellent. We were traveling back to the Midlands from Scotland and needed to call at (what is probably the best butcher's in Yorkshire) Hammond's in Bainbridge. Being retired and in no hurry we decided to stay the night at the rose and crown and were not disappointed!! From being let go a little the new hosts have certainly got the pub/accommodation on an upward trajectory so very well done.

Chef kind enough to make me a breakfast ciabatta to take in the road, and it was delicious Great old hotel with very friendly staff and locals. Beer good too. Everyone loved my two dogs.

Last order for food was 1730 which was too early for me but that could have been just Sunday hours, I didn't ask I just bought (excellent) pasties from a local shop and ate them

The Chef was extremely accommodating with my allergy (sulphites) and communicated well with me throughout. I felt that he took it very seriously and this was nicely reassuring. He is definitely an asset to the hotel!

Some blackout curtains would have been very welcome! The electric mechanism of the toilet was very noisy.

Great location and a lovely setting. A very old and quirky pub. Loved the sloping floors. Friendly staff.

The plumbing was awful. The pump toilet rarely worked properly. A sign above the toilet advise d to use another toilet along the corridor if there was a problem. This bathroom already had someone in it, together with their toiletries and underwear!. - and no toilet paper either!!! The shower proved a losing battle, starting and stopping by a different sequence each time it was used.

Breakfast was excellent,lovely staff,beautiful location,both we and wilma(my dog),were made to feel very welcome by the friendly,pleasant staff,room was clean and comfortable

Decor could do with a refresh,otherwise it really is a beautiful old building,we will be returning soon!

The staff were excellent and we had the best pies ever for our evening meal.

If I had one moan and it's a trivial one, it would be as the building is very old, the sash windows did not open and the weather was rather warm, it made the room a bit hot and stuffy. So a little ventilation of some sort would be nice.
