A lovely cosy room and good modern bathroom. We were at the back of the hotel with great views. Food was excellent, both breakfast and evening meals. Young bar staff were welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Communal areas and room had been decorated recently giving a modern and cared for vibe. Nice touch having a boot tray for dirty footwear after exploring! A wonderful Yorkshire gem.

Breakfast service was a little slow. I appreciate it was all cooked to order and this takes time, but sometimes we had to wait a while before anyone acknowledged we were there or took our order or served us with hot drinks. No parking is irritating, but there is plenty of free on-street parking nearby. No need to use pay and display carparks.

The property location was good, nice breakfast and evening meal. The room was spotlessly clean, warm and beds very comfortable.

The bar area could be made more comfortable had a lovely open fire which with more comfortable seating would encourage people to stay longer to have a drink but could see it was targeting more of the higher end dining. The room we stayed in was at the front of the property and was very noisy early in the morning due to the trucks going through the village I presume to the cheese factory.

We were warmly greeted and offered the chance to leave our bags as the room wasn't ready due to us arriving early. The room was as described and had everything we wanted, including a comfy bed . It looked freshly renovated. The shower room was really nice with good quality toiletries and an excellent shower. Even though we were in room 1 at the top of the stairs right above the pub, it was quiet, the pub was very busy early on but by 10 o'clock had quietened down so we didn't hear anything. We had 3 great nights sleep, which was much appreciated. Breakfast was simply superb, massive choice and of really good quality, it was served in the restaurant. The staff were , without exception brilliant, helpful,, very warm friendly and chatty. Overall, we had a fantastic time. Don't be put off by there being no parking available, you can park your car for free quite easily, a very short walk away. We would and probably will stay again without hesitation. As regards the pub side of things, the beers are tasty and the food is very good indeed.

From start to finish our stay was wonderful. The staff were very accommodating and the service was excellent. We took our two dogs and were made to feel very welcome. We had Sunday lunch in the pub…. Wow!!! It was outstanding. I thought they couldn’t beat that until breakfast the next day which was just as delicious! We had a bit of road noise but that couldn’t be helped due to it’s central location and the bed was so comfy it didn’t matter!

The hotel is centrally located. The staff was so wonderful and welcoming. James was very courteous and remembered us every time we walked into the bar. The room was nice and really clean. The breakfast was delicious and very filling - the traditional English breakfast was wonderful! The breakfast staff were wonderful!!! What exceptional hospitality. It was so nice to just walk downstairs to get a pint! We appreciated the tray to put our boots on after our hikes. And it's only a short walk to Wensleydale Creamery! :D

Everything was generally excellent, room was very good, clean, warm and comfortable, bar staff were very nice, food was excellent.

Breakfast was bit haphazard, we think due to staff shortages, no menus, some advertised food not available. Full English was excellent but avocado was shop bought guacamole not fresh smashed avocado. Sour dough bread would have been nice. Not a great deal available for vegetarians and vegan guests.

Located in the village. Our room overlooked the church and was bright, spotlessly clean and inviting. Breakfast was good, served by a lady with a wonderfully dry Yorkshire wit. I had the full English breakfast on one day and the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs the next and both were lovely. Evening bar food was well above average with a relatively small menu done very well. Staff were welcoming and helpful without exception. We had a very enjoyable two night stay.

Maybe a little on the pricey side but we did visit on a July weekend and the whole village was very busy so it is to be expected really.

Excellent clean and modern accommodation in Hawes, very spacious and modern room overlooking the street. Parked on the side of the road local to the Hotel. Friendly staff and good choice of drinks, nice bar area. Delicious freshly prepared breakfast with plenty of choice. Good location for exploring the local areas.

Choice of meals on the dinner menu were limited and expensive. Prefer traditional pub grub options.

Great old pub in the centre of Hawes. We enjoyed a comfortable and spacious room on the first floor which was generally quiet. The food was surprisingly good, much better than we expected and so much so we ate both evenings as well as breakfast during our 2 night stay. Thre is no parking adjacent to the pub, but we found ample street parking just a few yards up the street. The staff were very helpful and all in all we had a brilliant stay and would hightly recommend it.

The only minor issue was early morning traffic noise as our room only had single glazing. I suspect some farmers were zooming past in a tractor as this woke us a couple of times in the small hours.

What a lovely place to stay! in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this little pub is great. Central location, Hawes is a really pretty village. We were made to feel very welcome. Our dinner in the pub was superb - we absolutely recommend eating there. And a delicious breakfast as well (included in the booking)! The room was small - noticible for us as we have large suitcases, and you need to go up a narrow staircase - but it was managable. The bathroom was very good. Very comfortable bed and bedding. And good wifi.

The only thing we thought could be better was if we could see the Dales from the bedroom window - the TV was positioned in front of the window so the view was a bit restricted.
