The team makes the hotel and Crouchers is very fortunate with the people who represent them. The room we finally got was amazing and the restaurant was wonderful, very talented chef.

First impressions count and the first room we were given fell short of expectations, from opening the door and being confronted with a disgusting dirty stair carpet leading us to a room that was equally disappointed. I returned to the reception and asked if we had been given the right room and was then offered room 19 which matched exactly what was booked and was exceptional. It was then inferred as them doing us a favour rather than accepting that it looked exactly the same as the photos that encouraged us to book in the first place. We were both left wondering why they tried to palm us off with a substandard room when the room we had matched perfectly to what we had booked and the hotel was quite empty.

Nice bar, good food and very comfortable beds

Stopped a few times here for business but this most recent time because I was staying alone (I always stay alone as I'm travelling for business) someone had specifically reduced the room tea and coffee facilities so I only had 1 tea, 1 hot chocolate, 1 water and 1 packet of biscuits. This seemed a bit short sighted given that I had bought drinks in the bar, and eaten a 2 course meal with wine in the restaurant! I think I'd more than paid for the additional persons refreshments in using the bar and restaurant, felt a little like I was being rationed!

Staff were outstanding and very helpful. The Location was quiet, with fresh air and open spaces. The room was clean and well appointed, including coffee pod machine. Restaurant food was fantastic, a little pricey perhaps but was worth it.

The only mark against the room was the shower over the bath. In this day and age with OH&S, a shower over a bath in a hotel is a no no. I was travelling with my elderly mother who is not so fit, and getting her in and out of the bath to have a shower was a challenge. A hotel of this standard should have a separate shower in all rooms. Both of the rooms I booked had a shower over the bath.

Great hotel in an ideal spot for visits to Bosham, Emsworth, Witterings, Chichester etc. Our room on the ground floor was small but adequate with an equally small bathroom, but everything worked the way it was intended with a superb shower. We had a door out to the grounds beyond .The only problem we had was the very noisy plumbing from the adjacent room which woke us in the night each time it was used. We had 2 most excellent dinners and breakfasts (interesting choice of foods for breakfast) and would definitely return if the need arrises. Very helpful and friendly staff. Loads of car park area and electric car chargers, (the high speed charger was out of service at the time of our visit, I reported it to Mer).

Great place I will say...lovely setting, food was amazing...the cheese board was amazing and eating it in bed was even better...we would recommend this place

had a upgrade which was a lovely room, but wasn't prepped...dirty glass from dishwasher, only one bottle of water beverage tray wasn't replenished basically...freezing cold..no instructions for heater, this took all day and night to heat the room.. was advised of the walk to the marina, but this we found was unsafe whilst trying to negotiate the main road, no footpaths black greasy mud and overgrown bushes...would not advise anyone to make this walk in the dark torch or no torch. Like I said food was amazing at the Potager.. unfortunately our starters were forgotten received mains first which was quickly taken back this meant a lengthy wait for our food, the staff were great and amended the bill accordingly...

good location with nice room with patio area overlooking fields and trees. Excellent food from a very good chef. Lots of easy parking

Because the very nice rooms are purpose built and so is reception/ dining/bar the hotel was a little lacking in character. It rather lacked the usual hotel buzz or 'old world charm'. I am being a little over-critical here because the room, staff and dining were excellent.

The staff were all so welcoming, friendly, professional- they went out of their way to make sure we felt looked after with personal touches- the service at the bar and restaurant was excellent. I have histamine intolerance, so have avoid certain foods & seasoning - the chef cooked me one of the best meals I’ve had over the last 10yrs. There are different areas with individual decor which created some lovely spaces to relax in . Our room was really comfortable, clean , lovely decor again- looked newly decorated. We loved this boutique hotel & it’s ambiance - we’ll definitely return

Well appointed room. Excellent breakfast options. All staff were welcoming, friendly and professional.

Ensuite looked a little 'tired' and the fact that sound travelled too easily between rooms. From our ground floor room we could hear every movement when the guests above us were moving around. Not the hotels fault but we couldn't use the frequent bus service outside the hotel because the nearest stop was 5 minutes walk away along a busy road with no footpath. Perhaps the hotel owners could talk to the bus company about installing a bus stop outside the hotel?

Staff friendly and helpful, breakfast and dinner very good, with plenty of choice. The room was very comfortable and clean.

The only problem with the room was the squeaky floors, not only in our ground floor room but also in the room above, which disturbed us when the upstairs occupants came in late at night/ early hours of the morning or moved around during the night. There was also traffic noise as the hotel is on a busy road. We would have liked a few more tea bags in the room, However we only had to ask for additional supplies at reception and it was no problem.

Overall the property is clean and well-presented. The room was a good size. Breakfast was good.

There's a fair bit of noise you can hear from the busy A-road immediately outside the hotel. Maybe we could've researched the location more, but there's nothing mentioned in previous reviews despite a lot of their rooms being in the same place as ours. We booked the Blenheim room, which was fine but actually didn't have a free-standing bath as the picture suggested...we didn't say anything as it wasn't a deal breaker, but was a bit frustrating.
