The booking was on room only basis, although there was a kitchen on the second floor available for use by guests including a microwave, crockery and some basics such as milk and bread provided by the host. The hotel was located at the end of the high street and had off road parking. Holywell is just off the main A55 and easy to get to. Its also good for access to the North Wales coast, Greenfield valley heritage sites and the Clywd mountains. There is a Lidl, Tesco and convenience shop across the road together with a small bus station for provisions. The room was a good size, located up two flights of stairs. The furniture was a bit dated but the room was spotless and was complete with tea making facilities, TV and good wifi. Check in was easy (limited hours - so check in advance) and we were met by Ian to get the keys and show us to our room.

The room was really spacious with a small lounge area with a table that made it a very useful place to complete some work while I was away. The fridge was a definite bonus for those extra things (like fresh milk) that make a stay away from home more comfortable. Wi-Fi was excellent. All was very clean. It was great to be able to park on site for free, especially in a town centre. It was good to be able to step out and walk into the centre of town and yet have the convenience of the car readily at hand to go further afield.

Bear in mind the location at the top of the high street increases the noise of traffic - this isn’t the place to come for country silence. The step up into the bathroom caught me out a couple of times! There are signs but it’s easy to forget! The bed was massive and very comfortable but there were definite “valleys” that made taking advantage of having a whole bed to myself difficult!

The location was good for us ( visit to St.Winifreds Well ). No food available in Hotel - but many restaurants and takeaways close by , as well as a Lidl and Tesco literally a few minutes walk away. There is also a small kitchen area for people to use if required ( although we didn't use ). Room was comfortable and clean and overall we were Happy with our stay at the Hotel. Would we use/stay again ...Yes we would. :)

The only issue that I'll mention is that after a day of rain there was a "drain" smell in the Bathroom - which wasn't pleasant as the smell had crept into the bedroom first thing in the morning. I did mention it to Ian, who we saw outside on our day of departure, and he seemed surprised and said that he would investigate.

Room size was very large, plenty of room I was surprised by the addition of a fridge in the room ideal for keeping drinks cold ready for when you go out. Bathroom was not too small, no bath, but I wasn't bothered by that. I prefer the shower just because it's quick and convenient soaps were on hand as we're the towels. I did notice when reading the welcome leaflet that there is a small kitchen area that is available to use so you could use the microwave and toaster, etc. Plus, breakfast cerial are there if you want to indulge. Plus tea and coffee are provided in the room.

The only things I could fault were the kettle that didn't switch off automatically not really that big an issue just turn the switch off at the socket. The TV the signal kept on breaking up making it hard to actually watch anything this may be a WiFi issue with signal strength at a guess.

My room and the rest of the hotel was spotlessly clean, warm and cosy. Shower in my room was really impressive, super powerful and cubicle really clean. There is a kitchen area where you can prepare your own food, fridge, cooker, microwave, kettle, plates, cutlery etc The lounge area on the ground floor had lovely comfortable chairs and settees and was a nice area to chill out. There was a secure safe area to keep my bike which was extremely handy. The guy on reception, maybe he is the owner, was really helpful and informative. Holywell is quite a small town but has several pubs, a Tesco and a Lidl. Forbthe price I paid I cannot find a fault with the Victoria Inn and would highly recommend it to anybody.

There was absolutely nothing that I didn't like.

We stayed one night in May 2025 and we're very pleased with the standard of the room - the biggest bed in the world! Comfortable, clean, spacious and well stocked complimentary hot drinks. A fridge was an added bonus to store our cold drinks in the hot weather. Bathroom a good size although the shower was a bit temperamental, but got it working okay. Kitchen had a fair selection of cereals for self service breakfast . Kitchen was fully equipped for self caters. Excellent value for money.

Wider choice of cereals for breakfast.

Great communal kitchen where you could pick up basic breakfast, cutlery, crockery and glasses for use in room. Room was really clean and very well equipped including unsuited shower and loo. Greeted warmly on arrival in person by Ian who provided all necessary information and was clearly available should any contact be required and responded immediately by text when I had a query about departure. Melissa servicing rooms was just brilliant. Really friendly, welcoming and flexible and an integral part of the whole experience that ensures that this place is a warm home from home. Will be back at some point and will look forward to it. Thank you.

Nothing really. Loved being left to come and go as I pleased. All very quiet. Other guests plainly on premises but never saw anyone. Great place to stay at a very reasonable price.

The owner of the hotel was so lovely and helpful, there was a car park and the hotel is situated a very short walk from the shops and restaurants in Holywell. The room was lovely and spacious with a very comfy bed. The bathroom was great and toiletries were provided. There was a kitchen just down the hall where you could cook your own meals and help yourself to toast and cereal. There were teas and coffees in the room and a fridge. There is also a lovely roof terrace to sit on when the weather allows!

Nothing, it was brilliant!

As this is an old Hotel undergoing renovations from the inside out, our first impression was one of regret as it is very ordinary looking from the outside. Once we were shown to our room on the first floor we were pleasantly surprised as the room was recently renovated and was very comfortable and modern looking. Parking was in the yard at the rear of the Hotel and the Hotel looks straight down the main street. Breakfast was available as a get it yourself style in the community kitchen. Lounge area to use on ground floor.

First impression of outside. No lifts.

Booked at short notice....location for what we wanted was good, simple booking process, very competitive, Ian messaged late afternoon for our eta and was there to meet us and show us to our room...it was fine, tea n coffee facilities, TV on wall, en suite shower room...bed was comfy enough softer than ours but fine, it was quite warm at night but a tower fan was in room. Terrace to sit out at back. Access to a kitchen with usual kitchen facilities...we could not get onto the WiFi wouldn't connect at all but not an issue as we used mobile data. Thnx

Can't complain really
