Character, with this you accept the creaks and bumps in the night, all part of the experience. You also understand the lack of air conditioning and lift. Large Gravel car par to the front of the property, gives you that feel of grandeur, rolling through it with the car. As the hotel is open to the public, this brought an additional crowd of people. For me also endorsed, if the locals are using it,it has to be something special. Didn’t use the restaurant, however smelt great. As I was of to a local 50th birthday party at st Ives golf course.
My room number on the fob of the issued key stated the number “12” I walked the entire top floor looking for room 12, couldn’t find it. Find all the numbers up to 18 , then they started in the “100” , after going back and forward, I asked staff , “ oh yes your in 112 , we drop the one but we know its floor 1. Why it made no sense is they only have 1 level above the ground floor. All they need to do is re do the fob to say 112 , on it, as I found that room , straight away.

Location of this hotel was excellent close proximity of beautiful St Ives. Decor was lovely with lovely touchs around. Continental breakfast included which was tasty and sufficient. Staff very accommodating too. We were able to leave our car safely with them even though we'd checked out. It was a scorcher of a weekend and a fan was provided in the room too along with coffee and tea. Iron and board, hair dryer etc . Room was really clean and comfortable. Overall we enjoyed our stay
Shower a little slow but that could have been as hotel full capacity and everyone sourcing water around same time. We did mention it and our comments were noted with an apology however don't let this put you off all in all a pleasant stay

Well decorated and stylish hotel.
My room was above the main door and at night when guests and staff were coming in and out it made a very loud noise and did wake me up. The continental breakfast was okay but on the first morning , even though coming down at 8.30 am there were no crossoints left , hardly any coffee and no one available to ask, when another guest finally found a member of staff we were told there were no more available, not an option of bread or toast instead either, so a little dissapointing. We were staying to attend a funeral and a wake in the function hall. There were a number of Toyota cars taking up the car spaces all with no number plates and presumably some connection to the nearby Toyota garage. This made parking very difficult with many having to find local roads to park on.

Convenient location just away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets. If you like a character hotel then this meets that criteria; lovely entrance hall, typical period Grade II listed property so expect creaky floorboards and other idiosyncrasies. Rooms were spacious and the bed comfortable. Good selection of beers, friendly welcome. Help-yourself continental breakfast was good enough and fresh (who needs a full fry-up every morning anyway?). I'd definitely stay again, which is the ultimate recommendation I guess.
Kitchen closed at 7pm on the Wednesday I visited, if I'd have known that I'd have arrived earlier. The continental breakfast was OK, more variety would have been better; extra pastries rather than just croissant, more cereal choice than just cornflakes and perhaps some breads and a toaster with some marmalades.

As soon as I arrived the receptionist greeted me so warmly. She was friendly and professional too and helped me get my luggage to my room.. In the morning, the gentleman on reception helped me with my luggage to my car. The room was gorgeous. Stunning. huge 4 poster bed, wonderful recycled wooden dresser, the most beautiful furnishings and chairs. Great flat screen tv on the wall - no expense spared. Modern bathroom very tastefully done with a walk in shower ( so refreshing!) and a corner whirlpool bath. All spotlessly clean. On the dresser were 2 machines, a coffee maker and a hot water one. Tea, coffee pods, sugar, etc. nicety displayed too. Sugar lumps in mini jars was a sweet touch. It really was a magnificent room - loads of space for clothes storage too.
It was chilly - despite an additional heater in the room, I was cold and wore additional layers in bed As a Grade 2 listed building with the original single glazed windows, this was partially to be expected I suppose. I am pretty sure that, had I asked, I would have been given a second plug in heater. Next time I shall do that (or pack a hot water bottle). NB. I take blood thinners, so I tend to feel cold when others do not.

The hotel was in a good position the room was spacious and bright. We have been quiet a few times for lunch and dinner and really enjoyed the food.
Breakfast was a disappointment could do with bread and fruit added to the menu. No one cleared the tables and before you had breakfast you had to clear the space, and it was as though there wasn't any staff at all. When we were ready to leave again no staff and had to leave the key on reception desk. Very impersal and disappointed.

The hotel is in a great location and just a 10 minute walk into the town of St Ives which was perfect for our stay. Plenty of free parking for the hotel. Room was mainly clean and decorated nicely. A lovely building overall, felt luxurious! Staff were very helpful, receptionist gave clear information and accommodated a late check in for us when requested. Came home late and the night man was very kind, chatty and friendly, he made us feel very comfortable, he got us some bottles of water before bed which we were very grateful for! Some staff were chatty and kind on our way out leaving the hotel which finished our stay nicely. Bed was comfortable just a little small, black out curtains allowed a great sleep! I would recommend this hotel.
We had a double room and the bed was definitely on the smaller side, kept feeling like I was going to roll out on the edge. Bed was comfortable but a bit too small for a hotel. There were some coffee splashes on the coffee machine that I noticed which made us not want to use it if it wasn’t clean. Could have done with a chair at the dressing table to be able to do hair / make up comfortably as I had to stand in the bathroom. Though the bathroom had a mirror with good lighting. Room very warm, fan was provided which helped a little.

The hotel was in excellent location only a short walk into the centre of St. Ives.
Very good evening meal in the restaurant at a reasonable price. Weren't great fans of the self serve breakfast. What was on offer was good quality overall but not a lot of choice and the coffee was only luke warm. We probably should have paid the extra for full breakfast.

Hotel is better than the rating! I booked just because there was nothing else available around (usually avoiding hotels with the rating less than 8), but all was perfectly ok. I think it's Schrödinger's breakfast (was available when I stayed - nothing spectacular but enough food and good fruit salad) which puts people down. The rest is perfectly fine, normal comfortable hotel.
Milk at breakfast could be hot, or at least hot water could be available for tea, otherwise with cold milk the only available drink is cold coffee

Fab stay at Slepe Hall Hotel. Extremely comfortable and welcoming. Spacious, stylish bedroom with comfy bed and a lovely bathroom. Nice hotel bar and a wonderful breakfast. Hotel is only a short walk from town centre with nice bars and restaurants. All staff were extremely friendly and accomodating. Thank you to the owner who made us a delicious vegan breakfast.
Nothing we didn't like.
