Well the Old School House was lovely easy to find and free parking to the rear... the breakfast was so good we enjoyed what we had very much hubby had fry ups both mornings which he said we're the best he'd had in a while....we slept well in our lovely huge comfy bed The village is so nice the weather was so hot which we enjoyed very much as we're from cumbria where it rains a LOT we had a few drinks with the locals in the pub across the road they we're very chatty and very welcoming... We ate in the white Horse a Nepolese restaurant/pub in the village one night and the second night we went a pub called the Bridge 5 minutes away where we sat out by the canal in the sun watching boats going by and canoes etc and had some lovely food. .we will definitely be coming back down to Waterbeach to stay with Lisa & Phil...
There wasn't anything not to like just wished we could have stayed longer...

Lisa is a cheerful, friendly and excellent host. Our room was warm and comfortable with lots of thoughtful touches. USB ports, sockets near mirror (for the hairdryer) and a handy little extension socket tower on the dressing table. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was warm with lovely toiletries. The breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and first class products. The only small thing we would mention was the bedroom door rattled every time somebody opened or closed another door in the corridor. It didn’t disturb our sleep as by then the hotel was quiet. We should have mentioned it at the time but we’d had such a pleasant stay it slipped our mind. We came to The Old School Rooms to meet up with friends, we enjoyed a chat and catch-up in the lounge before we went out for dinner. The location suited us perfectly, a bus ride into Cambridge and bus-stops just outside.

Really lovely little place in the perfect position in central Waterbeach with easy access to Cambridge on the train. The property is self check in but we did see the hosts who were friendly and very helpful in pointing us in the right direction for an evening out. Our room was lovely. Clean, comfy bed, tea and coffee making facilities (complete with cookies) and a decent shower with Rituals toiletries, which was a nice treat. There is a good hairdryer (not one attached to the wall in the bathroom) and a mini fridge with some bottles of water which were very welcome after a long day out and about in warm weather. Our stay ended with a lovely full English breakfast to set us up for the day. Perfect. Would definitely recommend staying here and we will be returning fairly soon ourselves.

This venue was perfect for our needs. My husband and I were attending a concert at Newmarket Races with our daughter and her husband. Our rooms were compact but all our possible needs were met and we were really impressed with the level of attention to detail. The bathroom was lovely! Spacious, and spotless and we really appreciated the high quality toiletries provided. Breakfast was superb! The fruit salad was exceptional! Our hosts were professional, attentive and incredibly lovely! As a family, we would highly recommend!!!
Nothing!

One of the friendliest and kindest hosts we have ever come across. The room was smart, spotless and comfortable. The breakfast was very well cooked and the area was interesting and very close to Cambridge. The accommodation was on a village green with a very nice pub / restaurant opposite. The nearby river is a nice walk, and the riverside pub looked great.
Perhaps the breakfast was a little slow.

It was a perfect location for our sightseeing around Cambridge and Ely. The rooms were very clean. The guest lounge was an unexpected bonus for us. The breakfast choice was great and the food was excellent. The recommendations for our evening meals were all very good.
Everything we needed was provided. There is nothing to dislike.

I have been asked by my sister and brother in law to write a review as that is too technical for them. They stayed at the Old School House for two nights in the beginning of October 2023. It is beginning to be very repetitive. As everybody else has already said, we found this B&B outstanding. The owners have thought about everything in minute detail. One cannot think of anything that they have not anticipated. Apart from that, it is absolutely spotless. The breakfast is incredibly generous. In short, a wonderful place to spend time. Last but not Lisa, Lisa is very, very friendly.
There was nothing not to like

Easy to access with clear instructions. Clean quiet room with everything we needed. Parking was easy. Lounge area where you could bring in takeaway to eat - with fridge and microwave and plates etc - s nice touch. Breakfast was well cooked and fresh and extremely generous. Staff very pleasant. Pubs nearby and easy reach of Cambridge and Ely.

Very comfortable large bed. Well equipped en-suite with walk-in shower. Bonus to have a guests' sitting room with comfy sofas and coffee/tea making facilities. Also the opportunity to eat a take-away meal in this room. Good choice at breakfast - all freshly prepared and cooked once we had sat down. Friendly owners. Would definitely recommend others to stay here. Walking distance to railway station.
