All staff friendly and helpful.I booked a single room but the room was generous with a small double bed not a singleThe mattress was very comfortable and bed linen good quality.The ensuite was generous size with a bath.The room and hotel was immaculately clean.The breakfast was generous,top quality produce and fast but friendly service.l had a meal one evening in the restaurant and was served promptly and value for money.Overall it was a lovely stay and l would return again.Nothing was too much trouble to help me like carrying my cases.Well done all staff at a very busy time of the year.

No fridge in the room but not a big issue.

Cooked breakfast was excellent. Plenty of choice. Fresh fruits and yogurt were very enjoyable. Beds were comfortable and our room was at the front of the hotel overlooking a lovely square in the centre of Wimborne town. Bar area very pleasant and comfortable. Staff were all friendly and extremely helpful. Car parking and rear entrance to reception is perfect.

Decor in bedroom was tired, shabby and outdated. Windows needed a good clean. Bathroom adequate but again dated and in need of modernisation or at least a glass shower screen fitting to bath/shower. The kitchen was closed (except for breakfast) so no lunch or evening meals available. This should have been advised before our visit.

The first room we were given had a dodgy flashing light in the bathroom. Once the staff were aware, we were given a bigger room straight away. NB (I wasn’t aware that I requested a quiet room)

There was no extractor fan in the bathroom, so when you used the shower, the room got very steamed up. Sash window was initially very difficult to open. Luckily my partner was strong enough to force it up! 3 big windows in the bedroom, but no nets, meaning no privacy with the room facing directly on to the car park, which was very busy in the morning with contractors in and out of their vans. Had to keep the curtains closed, making the room very dark. (Obviously we had the lights on, but not ideal)!

I stayed at the hotel for five nights, with my daughter who was recovering from an operation. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome. Upon hearing about my daughters operation, they could not do enough for us and frequently enquired if there was anything else they could do for her. The hotel is over 200 years old, therefore do not expect a modern, characterless interior. Instead the hotel has lots of original features, a lovely bright and wide staircase and a wealth of charm. Our twin room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable, we both slept very well. It was quite hot in the room and, for safety reasons, the windows only open a little way. I mentioned this to Zoe (who is a credit to this hotel) and a fan was brought up really quickly. The food in the restaurant is excellent - make sure you try their chocolate brownie with ice cream, we did - twice! I also had the Feta, Pear and Honey open sandwich for lunch, which was delicious. Being situated right on Wimborne High St, we were perfectly placed to experience the many cafes, restaurants and shops. There is a lovely little bakery at the end of the alleyway next to Superdrug - don't miss their cinnamon buns, which are cooked fresh each day. We really enjoyed our stay and my daughter's recovery went very well. I would like to make a special mention of the following hotel staff members, who were extremely helpful and made our stay that little bit more special: Zoe, Jesse, Sinead & Karen.

The staff were very friendly and could not do enough for you especially the assistant manager. She was excellent. She was everywhere from sorting out cold rooms and bleeding radiators to serving breakfast and behind the bar

Food was not as good as it could be. Long wait to be served breakfast after ordering. Rick solid vegetarian sausages, and undercooked bacon. Not enough orange juice. Too overpriced for what you received. Prompt closing of the bar, locking the gates. Never experienced that in any hotel.

Breakfast superb, best Old English Inns/Greene King I've had and I have stayed in many GK Inns over the last 20 years. Zoe the Waitress should be working in the Ritz, most attentive, friendly and welcoming I've experienced in a UK hotel .Her attitude to all the guests was first class and she works such long hours on that shift.

Well its a very old building with a lot of character and creaky floors but that does not distract from the ambience and the welcoming staff, yes some of the bathrooms could be upgraded, but not dramatically. Overall nothing I could say I disliked so overall I will give it a 9 but the staff a 10, well done

We arrived early and we’re made very welcome and as our rooms were ready we were given an early check in - a great bonus as we were needing to get ready for a family wedding. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We had a light lunch in the bar nd the food was excellent. Our rooms were very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice and cooked and served well. A great place to stay 👍

Very warm welcome from Laura on Reception. Lovely bedroom overlooking The Square and beds very comfortable - super nights' sleep. Good carparking behind hotel.

Breakfast great but evening meal in the Restaurant very disappointing. Given wrong meal with only apology being "come tomorrow night and we'll make it up to you" Decided not to risk it so instead had a lovely meal in restaurant on The Square. Gave constructive feedback to General Manager.

I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions when visiting my son who lives in Wimborne. Our room was really lovely which we booked for 2 nights. The hotel is in an ideal situation. All the staff are friendly and helpful but I have to give special thanks to the fabulous Laura (reception/hotel manager). She is absolutely wonderful (as always) so efficient and welcoming with lots of personality and has become a friend. Every hotel needs a Laura. The new assistant manager Brian seemed very nice too xxl

I love this hotel as I have been using it for years. The Team are always polite, courteous and helpful, with a smile. Their approach contributes to an enjoyable stay. The rooms are large and spacious, with ample room for two people. The bar and restaurant downstairs are perfect if you don't want to venture into Wimborne, or just to meet up with friends etc. The rooms are always warm and clean. Car parking is free and exceptionally close to the reception. I always enjoy staying at this hotel and will continue to use in future.

The shower in the bathroom(s) having stayed frequently are woefully inadequate, as the power of the water isn't strong enough to have a decent shower.
