This is a traditional style of hotel built quite a few decades ago. You may find many like this in the area that goes from Piriapolis to Punta del Este. All in all, it was more than acceptable for the price I paid. The location is great, across the main square of the Peninsula area, a step from Gorlero street, where you have all the main attractions. Very close to Playa Brava and not that far from other beaches either. It is ideal for whoever is on foot, as you can walk pretty much everywhere of importance from the hotel. Even when the hotel shows its age, it's well kept and clean. The room I stayed in had a small fridge, a TV-set with cable channels, AC, an en-suite bathroom and not much of a view (just the building next door) but I wasn't expecting one anyway, and in any case you can pop out to the second floor terrace if you wish, where you can see the beach a fair bit around town. The floors have lift access. The staff members were friendly. Breakfast was included in the price, and it was fine with coffee/tea, the typical Uruguayan pastries and a few other things (you shouldn't expect any sort of cooked breakfast as it's not really the local standard)

The door locks are a bit basic. The rooms could do with a laptop safe, and some complimentary water in the fridge.

It was a little pricey for off season. Hotel was a little run down in some areas. The WiFi was very fast in the lobby but was barely usable in the room

The room needs more maintenance. The water in the shower comes out weak. Wi fi could be better

Staff was friendly and provided quick solutions, breakfast had a good variety of fruits, ham and cheese were pretty good, bread was fresh. It was conveniently located, with a short (15-minute) walk to the bus station, and in front of the arts and crafts market. We were able to have an early check in without cost, and our luggage stored after checking out.

The room wasn’t very clean, as we found three big spiders during our four day stay. Credit cards are accepted only for payments above $30, which wasn’t indicated prior to the purchase (we bought a couple of bottles of water at the front desk, and had no local currency, therefore we had to pay with cash). Breaksfast had very little to no protein. The room was dark with no sunlight, as the shades could not be opened, and we could hear noises coming from the other rooms and alley behind.
