Room was spacious, spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. Large walk in shower that was well appointed with nicely scented pump soap, shampoo/conditioner, and body lotion. Plenty of towels. Great water pressure and plenty of hot water! The bar area in an outbuilding on the property also serves as the registration area. The bartender was doing double duty. Meghan was adorable, engaging and made perfectly mixed martinis. Breakfast was served in the mansion. Everything was fresh and very delicious. Great coffee too.

Lighting at night made it very difficult to find the registration area. Signs were present but not illuminated in any way. We drove around several times. The automatic entrance gate call button needs to be pressed to enter the property. There was no mention of this in the listing. It would've been nice to know ahead of time. Plenty of free, fenced parking.

Loved the mansion. Breakfast was great. Happy there was a bar on property. One of the employees (house manager) went out of his way to tell us about the house. House (which was the entire reason we stayed), was beautiful.

Would like to have had the option to stay in the mansion. Was not offered on Booking. We would have reserved one of those rooms. No food offerings at the bar. We would have ordered if it was available. Even if we could have ordered in from local establishment. Perhaps that could be suggested in future.

I loved how clean the room was the first time we entered the room. I especially noticed how friendly the check in clerk was when I checked in, and checked out. Even when on the phone, they all had pleasant voices. We stayed 3 days, and this nice young man always spoke, Good morning, and asked if everything was ok, do you need anything, let us know. That speaks volume to me. I am so thankful to everyone for making us feel welcome during our stay.

I didn't like that there was not a gym. But we were given one day passes to the local YMCA!!!

The pool is saltwater, which is always lovely. The breezeways and balcony areas were clean and well kept. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious, hot, well made, well seasoned, and well maintained EVEN THOUGH we came on a weekend when there was a large wedding party. The staff stayed very cool, collected, friendly, and helpful during what must have been an incredibly overwhelming weekend. I didn't get the names of everyone working in the kitchen for breakfast, and I wasn't about to stop them and ask for their names in the midst of the buzz of breakfast time, but they were wonderful. I'm sure they didn't get half of the thanks or credit that they certainly deserved. As for the front desk and bar, I DID get their names as my husband and I were celebrating his birthday before the wedding party moved over to the bar. Chelsea, Megan, and Alicia were absolutely wonderful, welcoming, and genuinely pleasant. They helped with information on check in, drink selection later in the night, and helped us avoid the crowd by telling us when the wedding was ending. (We wanted to be out of the way by then so the wedding crowd could have their space). Upon check out April was sweet as honey, and wished us safe travels. All in all this stay was beyond expectations in every way imaginable. Thank you!

The property was beautiful, clean, decorated well; it was was easy to get to our room and to breakfast. The mansion is beautiful. The room was clean and spacious. The parking was gated. The breakfast area was very nice and so was the check in and bar area.

The driveway to the hotel is very close to the driveway to the restaurant next door. I like that it is a gated parking area. I would have liked to have received instructions before arrival on how to enter the property.

Breakfast inside an old victorian home, the last on the street and from a bygone era. The whole property i gated so it feels secure. Check in is always smooth. And the rooms clean and comfortable. A lovely place all around and our place whenever we stay in Anniston.

While edible, the eggs seem somewhat institutional. Not a negative but not a positive either. Kinda "meh" if you know what I mean. Should be at least a tad better is what I am trying to say.

Our room was in the main building so we were set back in time by this elegant, historical building. Every floor has been meticulously renovated and restored. Our room was tastefully decorated and quite large. The bed was also very comfortable. The setting of this buidling is within a nicely gated property that is very well maintained. An absolute plus are the staff at reception. We were looking for a restaurant in the old downtown and they gave us some excellent recommendations – not too expensive, something with a bit of history and something that would serve the local cuisine.

The first negative thing was the central air conditioning control that was for several rooms. When we arrived, our room was an ice box. The only contol is outside the room and is the control for several rooms. This could have been a problem if other guests wanted their rooms to stay cold. The second negative thing was the breakfast. The setting of the main floor is very elegant with high backed chairs and low hanging chandeliers. The breakfast was served on a buffet table with plastic silverware and styrafoam cups for coffee. The buffet table was cluttered with plastic containers of jam and butter. Somewhat hectic and out of place for such a beautiful building.

I can hardly say enough good things about the place. The atmosphere was very pleasant. The room comfortable. The staff was just wonderful. We loved having breakfast in one of the numerous dining rooms at the main house. It’s just a wonderful place to stay.

It is not situated in the most picturesque part of town; but that is hardly the fault of the hotel. It was built long before most of the area was developed.

Without a doubt, the main attraction is the old house, restored beautifully. It would be a lovely venue for many special events.

A very minor issue. There was no information in our room. A sheet with breakfast hours, location of ice machines, etc., would have been a welcome addition. Yes, we could have called the desk to ask, but why not provide that information?

Homemade breakfast is 8/10 compared to most area hotels. The owner is the best cook but the other cooks are good too. But he makes the best eggs, bacon, and potatoes.

The breakfast is the only meal available from the kitchen and the air-conditioning filters in the rooms could use a change.
