communication with owner/manager was EXCELLENT prior to arrival once in Homer, Inn folks gave us good tips on food, things to do, and hiking trails huge bed ability to walk to several good quality restaurants ease of check-in/check out provided bear spray

room (BSea) was pretty small and dark with the only window facing away from the mountains (I think all other rooms at the inn face the mountains/sea and are therefore much brighter but I can speak to their size) walls were thin odd noises from microwave and/or refrigerator woke me up in the middle of the night (unplugging both the second night fixed the problem)

Very cute room in a great location. The manager greeted us on arrival and was very helpful and friendly. We very much appreciated all the sightseeing and restaurant recommendations in the book provided in the room as well as via scan codes mounted on the wall. The many USB charging ports were also helpful.

Due to mobility issues, my wife had issues with the showertub (lacks railing around the inside) and getting up to the height of the bed. However, the manager was able to bring us a chair for the shower and a stepstool for the bed - problem solved!

The property had the right amount of privacy with such a beautiful view. It was quiet and peaceful there. Everything was clean. The people who run it are super nice and friendly. They were easy to get in contact with in case you needed anything. They had brochures of everything in the area. They had brochures for places to explore, eat, budget friendly options, and everything else. They had QR codes in the room to track the tide and weather. They had recommendations for everything. And the price was very reasonable.

We loved everything.

The owner/operator is very kind and highly communicative. The bed was ultra comfortable and perfect after a long hard day traveling. Priced very reasonable with everything you need to be comfortable. The resident bunny running around outside was a perfect touch. And the view on the mountains and Cook Inlet beautiful!

The hotel is older so you hear the other guests walking above you. You can hear that they are talking but not enough to know what they are saying. Doesn’t deter from us staying again or recommending.

Nice apartment with good facilities. Easy to find and no problems accessing the property. Good parking. Lots of information about the area provided in a folder. Nice views from the window. Comfortable bed. We could have easily stayed longer.

It would have been nice to have a more comfortable seating area. Having two single beds in the sitting area plus one easy chair makes it feel cultured and means only one person has a chair to sit on. Others need to sit on the beds.

Very comfortable and clean, we had everything we needed, and the view was great. Close to good restaurants and shops. Lots of info about the area provided in the room, which helped us change plans on a rainy day. Set up for a family with kids but as a couple it was nice to have extra room. We look forward to coming back!

If high design matters to you, this isn't it. Our suite was homey, not fancy.

Exceptional lodging in Homer, Alaska. Avoid the Homer Spit high cost lodging and RV camp chaos. Stay at a splendid "off the beaten path" property with a magnificent view of Kachemak Bay from your balcony at Pioneer Inn. The Inn is a mere ten minute drive to The Spit and fishing charters. Prepare and cook your day's catch at Pioneer Inn's well equipped kitchenette units, complete with all the essential utensils and supplies. Clean, comfortable beds in a charming decorated unit.

Location was great. The staff is amazing.

The layout of our room, #2, was inconvenient Those sleeping in the outer room had to go thru the bedroom to get to the bathroom, and those in the inner room had to go thru the outer roo. To get outside. It was billed as 2 bedrooms...not. The walls and ceiling are really thin. We heard every word said upstairs.

Great location very close to all Homer activities and walking distance to some restaurants and cafes. Lovely warm and cosy comfortable rooms. Very comfy bed. Good little kitchenette.

Lovely renovated building. We had upstairs Room C Tidepool which had fabulous mountain views and a balcony to enjoy them. Owners were born in Homer and left great information on their favourite places to eat and things to do. Easy walk to Bishops Beach, eateries, supermarket and old Homer town but need car to get to Homer Spit
