Such a friendly motel of yesteryear! Not fancy, but clean and comfy! Fast wifi! Great cafe for quality diner food. This was our second trip. It is @ bit worn down, is run by a mission for rehabbing young men, holds a church service for them in back of diner and they live there and provide all the services. Nice office with essentials for sale. We were treated to a snowfall each visit!

If it were renovated would be amazing, but would definitely pay steeper fees!

Simple, clean, comfortable rooms at a reasonable price. Everyone working there is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is a great deal. Large portions, quality food, way cheaper than what you'd find most places, especially as you get into Truckee. We stay here on ski weekends. One potential downside, out of the control of the lodge, is depending on weather and traffic it can be a quick or slow/long drive to the ski areas.

Two small critiques. First is easy to fix: some of the room lights are a harsh white. Replacing the bulbs with a warmer (lower color temp) light would make the rooms much more inviting. Second is harder to fix: room 1 specifically is next to the restaurant kitchen and can be noisy with kitchen with as you're going to sleep or waking up the morning. Maybe some sound deadening could be added in that wall? We've stayed in other rooms and only ever had noise be an issue in room 1. I find the memory foam mattresses too soft but I'm picky that way. My family likes them.

The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the TV channels were plenty! Great shower head. Rooms are small, but well appointed. Room heater works great. Staff is awesome!

Room reservation stated "Mountain View", however it did not provide a mountain view, which was disappointing (Room 9). The restaurant food was good, however they rushed my meal; received my soup before finishing salad and then my main course came out before finishing my salad and soup. All three in front of me getting cold as I tried to eat them all. Slow down!!! We don't need to be rushed. Take some lessons on proper restaurant meal delivery timing. The waiter was very pleasant and cordial. Staff is great here!

I loved having a restaurant in the location, and the food was very good. The staff were very nice and friendly, both at the restaurant and front desk. My room had all the cable channels I possibly wanted. Watched Netflix at night. I could see the snow through my window, which was a big bonus for me since I was heading north to see and touch snow for the first time in many years. I recommend this place.

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly! We got there late, but they were there and ready to check us in. They helped us understand how to operate the heater. The hotel is close to the ski resort we went to. The food at the restaurant was good.

The main light in the bedroom flickered a lot, but we just used the bedside table lamps.

The property is in a beautiful area in the Sierra Mountains, but is a bit removed from main communities, so a great spot if you want to relax and enjoy nature a while. The staff was incredibly attentive and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable.

The bathroom wasn't heated and so very cold. I did get an electric heater from the office, but it wasn't very powerful and it took until the next morning for the bathroom to reach a tolerable temperature.

The beautiful trees. The shower. Scenic of the place, old buildings. Just the over all atmosphere of our stay.

No small l refrigerator in the room, steps need to be replaced make them wider , I heard a few people sad the steps are dangerous. I agree. The ones going to room 9. And. 10.

The food was absolutely amazing! I would recommend stopping to eat at their restaurant if you're driving by on I-15. It is definitely worth the stop. The rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly, accommodative and responsive.

It is old and there isn't much to do around the property unless you drive somewhere.

Small-scale wooded mtn. hideaway, rustic decor, top notch food at adjoining restaurant, stocky and sturdy-built comfy beds with clean white sheets, quaint manicured garden in back, clean rooms and grounds, friendly and accommodating staff, reasonable rates, post box on site and easy to find on-line under "motels in Imigrant Gap."

Rm. #6: Bathroom fan loud, shower dark with cold bumpy floor, outlet in bathroom didn't work, so we asked for an extension cord. Over-powering cleaner/freshener smell in room.

My husband had just come off a 16-day backpacking trip on the John Muir Trail and was VERY grateful for the tub and jets! Comfy bed, convenient location for us, grateful for a restaurant right there. The food was adequate.

The carpet on part of the floor was a bit grim.
