The manager on duty was so kind and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was pleasant. He moved our reservation to another room upon our arrival at my request for a better view. Changed our bedding promptly when we requested since the cleaning staff were off for the holidays. Left extra towels to help with the wet floor near the door. It rained all 3 days we were there🤷‍♀️. He was friendly and accommodating with our little rescue dog. The room had all basic necessities and was clean. Nice big vanity/sink area. More than enough outlets well-placed. Good location for all the activities in the Grass Valley area.

The rooms are on the older side but ours was clean and the bed was comfortable. I would recommend, especially during the rainy season, that they have small rugs just inside the hotel door for cleaning your feet as you enter since the floors are laminate. It would keep the floor cleaner and help it not to be a slipping problem.

Holiday Lodge is an older motel located very close to the freeway, about 0.7 miles from Grass Valley. It's clean but spartan. The staff are polite if needed. Old place with working facilities but no bells and whistles. Has AC and fridge, so worked fine for my 3-day stay during the bluegrass festival weekend.

Didn't like paying extra for my dog. Prefer paying a dog deposit thats returned if there's no damage or extra cleaning needed due to the dog.

I stayed here for two nights on June 24-25, 2022 and brought my big Golden Retriever along for the trip. Glad that they allowed him . I think the extra charge was something like 10-20 bucks. Having made reservations from a travel site, I did not know what to expect. I arrived at 10:00 p.m. and was grateful that the owner stayed up to let me check in. This motel was purchased by a Sihk Indian family and they have done a really nice job of refurbishing the place. There were nice wood lattice screens around the perimeter of the motel rooms and those gave it a nice feel. The swimming pool, while I did not partake, was in excellent shape and the water was sparkling and clean. There were a gaggle of kids enjoying it during the days. Most of the rooms were taken by either families with kids or work truck guys. The grounds were clean, for the most part. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. The only real noises were from a couple of drag racing cars on Saturday night. No noises from the hotel or it's guests. My room was upstairs, on the end. #58. The stairs were a tiny bit creaky but I am a large gal, so maybe it was from that, LOL. The room, while not glamorous, was clean, in good condition and had a mini fridge, microwave and a coffee maker. The bed spread was kind of unattractive. The towels were small but very clean and soft. My coffee maker did not work. The only criticism I have for this place was that the shower curtain was entirely too small and short and the shower pressure was so strong that it blew the curtain around and let a LOT of water out on the floor. Could turn into a dangerous situation and I would recommend that they put in better , longer curtains to keep the water inside the shower. One other comment as to safety... when going down a small flight of stairs on the inner right hand corner of the downstairs part of the motel, is that someone had left a big bundle of garden hose laying right at the bottom of the stairs.

My coffee maker didn't work and the shower curtain wasn't big enough.

it’s very nice. I like the remodeling that was done. But the pillowcase over the bathroom window was tacky and didn’t really protect my privacy plus it didn’t keep the heat or cold out

The drape in the main room was flimsy. you may want to invest in some thermal back drapes.

Staff was very nice, room clean and the bed was comfortable. Close to stores and places to eat. After 8 pm the motel was quiet so no problem sleeping.

I had not been told when booking that an extra fee woud be charged for my small dog.

Perfect spot to be at for anything really. Running errands play golf , laundry ,eat an haircut pretty sweet if ya from outta of town.

This hotel is run by very nice people and I've stayed several times. Well-priced, not inexpensive but ok.

Please note that the hot water is on the opposite side you'd expect, in both the sink and the shower.

Service impeccable, location grounds very good. Amenities in room more than adequate. Safe and friendly.

Maybe the age and size of the bathroom? As a female traveling needs are a bit different, but that is about all I can think of.
