breakfast: it has scambled eggs, bacon , pancakes , several types of cereal , yogurt, coffee machine. orange juice , breads and mini cakes. all tasty. no vegetables or salads. it was very nice. main room: room is clean. it seems the carpet was replaced by a completely new carpet, new windows too. 3 types of shaders so it blocks 99% of sunlight . beds were super comfy . old LCD TV with various channels. alarm clock with USB-C and USB-A charging ports. a microwave, hair dryer. bathroom: has built in shampoo , body lotion and conditioner, just bring toothpaste. 2 queen beds room for a 171$ (incl tax) on January it is a nice deal. it is a 15 minutes drive distance from major ski resorts in the area and it has free parking and decent internet (200Mbps upload and download). Safeway supermarket it 5 minutes drive.

I found only 2 issues: 1. the heating is based on Amana air condition. it is not an inverter A/C so it will either work at full speed or shut off (in auto mode). when it kicks in at night: you will hear it. 2. there were 3 tiles cracked in the bathroom floor. one crack in the sink cabinet but nothing that will ruin your stay there.

Breakfast was really good, but the pancake machine was down and that’s all my son would eat but we went to McDonald’s for him. I loved the food and variety and the woman overseeing was so kind and helpful

Broken pancake machine and hours would be nice til 10:30…. Sleeping in is huge on vacation Bed was kind of uncomfortable and we needed more blankets and pillows the two provided for a king bed were well used and small, we got more the next day. The biggest complaint was the hallways and breakfast nook were extremely hot, like burning hot make you sweat hot. And other guests noted this too

I was very surprised and very happy to find Truckee Donner Lodge is better then advertised ! I ski a lot and will stay here from now on. My room was very nice, very clean and big - lots of extra space for two to enjoy - definitely meets the standards I like! The lobby and fire place stone work was very nice - as a building contractor believe me I noticed all the nice details top to bottom! It was so easy to park, the staff really friendly, elevator straight to my room, the tv had more channels then I could use - watched the warriors game in comfort. everything was really good! next time I'll bring ski friends and try the hot tub. I missed the breakfast, found a nice coffee cafe/bakery just down the street, Location works well for me having a car - quick drive to Palisades or Northstar.

Bed firm but concave laying on it at night. Soft pillows, no support Pool and Spa outside and side of hotel (we didn't use it. looked decently clean. But the question is how often it is clean since people definitely use them.)

Conveniently located right off of the 80 and close to Truckee west area, this lodge is a great alternative to Airbnbs for small families. It was clean, comfortable, and good value. The complimentary breakfast was nice. I especially liked the salty options (alternating days of omelette vs scrambled eggs and sausages vs bacon) and the touchless pancake maker. In the future, if we can't get together with another family to share an Airbnb, we would stay here again for ski trips.

This was our first stay at this location and on the whole, it was mostly a good experience. The location itself is central and very convenient. The place seemed clean and the facilities were generally pretty nice. Breakfast can get a little crowded, so you may want to get there early to grab a table. The breakfast offerings themselves were your fairly classic fair for an American continental breakfast, though I really liked the nifty little pancake maker machine.

Our single most significant issue with place, and sadly, one that may cause us to think twice before coming back, was the dryness of the air in the rooms. I'm not sure what causes this, whether it's the all-carpeted floor, the heating units or what else, but we did not have very good sleep during our stay. We would wake up several times at night with a very dry mouth and throat. Maybe it's us (both me and my wife), but I don't remember having this issue at other places we stayed at in this region on our previous visits. Certainly, we might consider having to bring or borrow a small humidifier on a future visit.

Clean rooms, comfortable, decent hotel breakfast.

I booked a second stay with them through Booking.com but tried to cancel and they refused to accommodate any sort of cancelation. Most places seem to work with you to cancel, like I would have happily paid a cancelation fee. But they flat out refused, since I hadn't booked directly with the hotel. So keep in mind that their cancelation policy is much better if you book directly.

Staff was friendly and quick to resolve our plumbing issue. Facility was quiet and clean. Loved having access to the 24 hr coffee/cocoa machine.

The only thing that bothered me was watching an unaccompanied child pick up unpackaged food from the breakfast bar and put it back for it to be picked up by someone else. I don’t know if there is anything that the hotel could’ve done to prevent it from happening, but maybe a sign or request in the future.

Love love love our stay here! Room was large and modern and so clean. The lobby and breakfast area are so inviting and sleek. Close to area restaurants and outside activities.

Our window faced another structure which was quite close so our window shades had to be kept drawn. The hotel is tricky to find as it is partially hidden by a gas station/ car wash ( noise). The signage is poor— just one sign with an “E” which we missed in several passes.

Perfectly nice spot for a ski trip. Better value than some of the other mid-range hotels in Truckee. Appreciate the free breakfast and they don't do junk fees like a resort fee or parking fee. Wifi worked just fine.

Room carpet and furnishings are a little bit worn down. Breakfast omelet looked great but then seemed like it was full of melted Kraft Singles.
