Our 2-bedroom ground floor villa was spacious and comfortably appointed; easily accomodated my husband and I and our three teenage boys. The walkout patio overlooked the "Fish Pond" and made morning coffee and evening wine a highlight of the stay (for Mom, at least!). The pools were clean and well-maintained. The largest pool was closed for renovation, but we enjoyed the pool at Broadway Hill Rec Center. It was perfect for my teenage boys since there was lots of seating and not too many little kids to bowl over. If you have littles, the Harmony Hill Pool is the place to be. Our villa kitchen had all the things needed to cook basic meals, including toaster, drip coffe maker and electric oven/range. Grounds were beautiful and made walking around enjoyable. We will definitely return.

The matress was too firm for my taste, but others were fine with it. The sliding doors to the patio were sometimes difficult to lock/unlock, but we managed. Check-in did take a long time, and they make you get in a second line afterward to get your parking pass. Here, they will ask you friendly conversational questions about your stay, then use your answers to offer you a freebie (in our case, tickets to the Safari Park) if you agree to take a 1-hour tour of the facility in the hopes that you will give them a good review. I declined the tour for various reasons, but I heard others take them up on it, so maybe that would be a "pro" for them.

Beautiful property! Only stayed 2 days for a nearby wedding. Clean, beautiful villa with all the in room amenities to get you started. Held an event at the restaurants patio that was fabulous. Danny (food and Bev manager) was attentive and made sure our event was successful.

Some more food options would be nice, esp. for breakfast. The market and “Starbucks” shop used the same register so it got quite busy and long wait in the morning. Restaurant did not open til 11am. Little truck with the steps to rooms if you are elderly or have heavy luggage. May want to ask for ground level room (not upstairs or downstairs) if you have either of those concerns.

It had a lot of amenities that seemed to encourage you to stay on the property. I thought the restaurant was excellent.-I love the different choices of pools-I loved the gas fired gathering spot in your downtown for group gatherings in the in the evening

Your market/grocery store was a disappointment. It had very little of anything. It truly is only a snack shop. If I want pressors potato chips, I know where to go. It had nothing that I wanted. I had to go off the property to pay an Uber driver to get to and from a grocery store

Excellent amenities, clean and comfortable, valued and staff is amazing. Villas are accommodating for groups and kids love the pools & slides.

The older parts of the resort are in need of work. Our 2br/2ba Villa was nice but little things were disappointing, like one shower was missing a handle, different light bulbs in dining room chandelier, bedroom tvs not operational, window screens missing, but mostly the outside front entry to the unit was filthy.

The pool areas are fabulous. The suites with kitchen, 2 bedrooms, and laundry are SO helpful when traveling with kids. HOWEVER, I hate when a sofa-bed is considered a "bed." Absolutely not. At these prices, it should include an actual bed.

Agree with others that there's a lack of food options here and in the surrounding area. The on-site restaurants weren't open when we visited (winter), so our only meal options were take out sandwiches, pre-made boxed sandwiches, or Pizza Hut. They have activities planned each day but literally every activity costs $$$. As in, $15 to tie-dye 1 t-shirt... pass. It's already an expensive place to stay!

We loved the spacious rooms - SUCH a great value and a must to have two rooms/two bathrooms/ a full kitchen and living space for a family of four with two young kids. The in-room washer and dryer and beautiful patio were a huge unexpected bonus! We also loved the tons of amenities (game rooms, fishing and beach rentals) the friendly staff, the pool options - and especially Theo, the super friendly water slide attendant!! I was initially worried about being pressured to invest in a time share, but the staff were very friendly and it was easy enough to decline. I would definitely choose the Welk again!

The furniture was a little older / uncomfortable in the unit we stayed in, and the location wasn’t the greatest (you had to bit of a drive to get to beaches or restaurants) - but that was completely expected and a worthwhile trade-off for everything you got in return.

My family and I flew out from North Carolina to attend my brother's wedding in Fallbrook. This resort was on their recommended places to stay and I'm so glad it was. From start to finish it was an absolute amazing experience staying at the Welk. Check in was fast and easy with very friendly service. The room was clean, a great size, had a nice balcony, and good amenities.

I do wish the kitchen was a little more stocked with a knife set and scissors. The shower head in the bathroom was very dated and seemed out of place for such a lovely room. All the buildings look the same so it's very easy to get lost, especially at night.

Gym was stacked with the latest of every possible kind of equipment, comparable to a 24-Hour Fitness but more well-maintained! While there weren't free weights, having a Smith machine for bench press was good enough. I was able to hit all the muscle groups in a very detailed manner. The climbing wall was a nice addition. Beats the typical hotel gym that has a treadmill and some dumbbells.

Even though the facilities were clean, the 1-bedroom 1-bath was structured very awkwardly. To go to the bedroom, you'd have to pass through the bathroom, which can get a little awkward if someone is using the bathroom. The sliding door in the closet, while it looks clean and unbroken, did not seem to be on its rails, so that door was unmovable when it should have been movable.

Convenience and location. It is best for me to stay due to reasons of my family living nearby, about 12 mins drive.

During the early morning hours (0500–0600), I enjoy sitting on the patio with a cup of coffee, taking in the beautiful mountain view and surrounding nature. However, the loud traffic noise from the nearby highway significantly detracts from the experience. In previous visits to this resort, the traffic noise was much more subdued and did not interfere with the peaceful atmosphere.

Large 2 bedroom villa, very accommodating with bedrooms on the sides and main living area and kitchen in the middle. Glad we had a washer and dryer inside the property too. And the fitness centers and rec centers were a great amenity that we took advantage of.

We didn't like that there were no windows that could open in the bathroom, it felt stuffy a lot since we had the heat on when it got colder in the morning and night. One of the hair conditioner bottles was nearly empty but we managed with the other one in the other bathroom. Kept forgetting to ask housekeeping about that during the stay.
