We were thoroughly impressed with our stay. Our room was spacious, exceptionally clean, and included a tabletop desk, which was a pleasant and practical surprise. The beds were ultra comfortable, each with four pillows of varying thickness so everyone could find their perfect level of support. We stayed in a double room and slept wonderfully. The location of the hotel was truly spectacular. The view from our room, like all the rooms we believe, overlooked a stunning landscape of trees surrounding the quaint town of Occidental. We were able to leave our car parked and walk to all the charming local spots, restaurants, and shops. The staff was warm and welcoming, and they even offered us a generous early check-in since our room was ready. Overall, the hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. We’re already looking forward to our next visit.

One criticism of an otherwise positive stay. Tripped on top step going to second floor. My builder husband says it is a code violation based on new commercial standards...too high, trip hazard...I took a nasty header and sprained my right wrist trying to break the fall. It is dangerous....the only black mark on a lovely visit with pretty view.

Location excellent. Staff very friendly. Very much appreciated the upgrade to the new redwood suite. Clean!

The mattresses not so comfy but made worse by the cover that is clearly waterproof but is very loud and coarse with any movement in the bed and makes it feel like sleeping on a plastic tarp. What you didnt invest in a high end mattress I would in a foam pad that is far more comfortable. Otherwise that beautiful room will only be remembered for the poor nights sleep. . Consider little packets of instant coffee because of the microwave? And maybe some tea options.

Very nice, newly renovated, large room, with a window view of pool and trees. The area is adorable, with its old town charm. Was a scenic drive from Bodega Bay, with amazing views. Felt like a step back in time, with prices from the present day. Overall we made memories, enjoyed family, and eat well.

Bathroom could of been larger, hard to close door to use toilet area. Room has plenty of space to expand. The king size bed needed sheets that covered the entire mattress, we were short sheeted.

Great location, clean, staff friendly and very helpful. They upgraded our room for my friends birthday. They had a great market going across the street. Centrally located and in the middle of all the happenings. Will be back!

It is on a hill so if you don’t like stairs and climbing up a hill to get to your hotel this isn’t the place to stay. It didn’t bother us but I would say that’s the only draw back to this place.

On arrival, Ryder was awesome. Super nice, friendly, helpful and informative. He even offered to help take our bags upstairs. It was so peaceful. Standing outside my room at 3 in the morning enjoying a cup of coffee, you could hear the crickets. It's so quiet at night you can actually get a good night's sleep. Shops and restaurants were literally right across the street.

Only thing was the lights on wall by beds were off set and the switch to turn on was very low, difficult for me due to my back.

Wanted to have our room refreshed day 2, did not happen, young women at the desk was very sweet , apologized & gave us fresh towels :) Friday night crowds came in , very very loud stomping around in the room on top of ours :( thank goodness they finally went to bed :)

We were given a newly remodeled room which exceeded our expectations in light of the reasonable cost. Very quiet and located in a quaint village within walking distance of eateries and gift shops.

The staff were friendly and helpful but not aware of which restaurants were open. We were referred to the written info inside the room which was not current information. We ended up phoning restaurants ourselves to identify which were open. Other than that, we were very pleased with the accommodations.

Traditional two storey motel style accommodation with recently updated room. Occidental is a great little town with good range of eating places for evening meal and breakfast.

Whilst our room was contemporary, bright and clean - the outside areas of the lodge motel were dated and needed attention / investment.

The rooms had been remodeled. It was comfortable, spacious, nicely decorated and very clean.

I was placed in a room on the ground floor. The guests upstairs were loud all night long. Late showers and stumping after midnight. I wish there would be a policy in place for no loud noises after 10 pm.
