They've done a really nice job of redoing this old rooms. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quite spacious. No closet or hangers which was a bummer but it was fine. Good bathroom and right next to a Le Pain Quotidian to get coffee and breakfast. Good blankets for when it got cold. Good location near highways and not a bunch of homeless people nearby.

You need to bring a roku or apple tv hookup to watch anything, at least thats how it was in mine room but it was fine. The old ac/heater units which I just didn't turn on. But also again was not a problem, didn't get that cold and blankets were nice.

Older motel, but it has been nicely remodeled with a colorful, retro theme. Rooms were clean but scarce. Pool was nice for kids.

Bathroom needed counter space. Shower put out way to much water. Not only was it wasteful, but the spray was so hard it was almost painful and you couldn’t adjust the shower head in any way. Continental breakfast was very limited and basic Also, we think there must have been some electrical issues, as out phone that were plugged in ALL night to change, charged very little and one did not charge at all. So that should be investigated. Room 206.

Staff was great. Good work, nice service. Location was comfortable for visiting Universal Studios because the hotel is close to the highway that goes to the park. Also, the neighborhood is pretty quiet. Room is pretty clean. No smell of smoke inside. We came during winter and found that heaters work well enough to keep us warm. Cheap nice parking. The absolute best part of this hotel is the breakfasts. Of course, it is relatively cheap food which mostly consists of wheat based high calorie processed food. But otherwise I would have spent $70 every morning to give breakfast for our family of four people. 4 days spend in LA means 4 breakfasts each $70. I saved $280 dollars on the breakfasts alone.

Bathroom, even though it was quite clean, didn't have any ventilation. The window was kind of sealed. I am guessing some guests tried to smoke there or something. But now, the room didn't have any trace of smoke. Another thing I wish to see was a table and another chair. The room had a single chair, but there were 4 of us. And there were plenty of times when we needed a table, there was none. But again, for the price and breakfasts plus cleanliness and nice stuff, it is a nobrainer for my next LA visit.

The front desk staff member "Emily" was extremely accommodating and helpful. She went above and beyond in making sure my husband had an inviting room decorated with balloons and a gift tailored to his liking for his 50th birthday. All the staff members were friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was a quick 15 min drive to Universal Studios and right off the freeway. The hotel has a retro unique charm to it and I like how the restroom was stocked with mini shampoos, conditioner, lotions, and manicure kits. There was also a free complimentary breakfast of frozen burritos, pastries, juices, milk, and cereal. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioner worked perfectly.

I have not complaints.

Location was good for us.. we had a car so did everything we wanted to do.. nothing was more than 30mins from the hotel.. The apartment was quite spacious and split into 3 rooms.. Bedroom/Bathroom/Kitchenette.. everything was clean and tidy. They also have a pool tho we didnt use it. Also the area felt safe at night.. We walked up to a local bar called Brew Dog both nights with no hassles or worries. The apartments are set back off Ventura so traffic noise was minimal.. although you are on a flightpath so the jets start coming in from about 7- 8am

Only one bedside table in a double room doesnt make sense.. there is room for one but they put a stand lamp there instead. Aircon unit was in the kitchen not the main room.. it wasnt very efficient and was very noisey.. you couldnt use it at night if you wanted to sleep aswell.

Neat, retro decor. Clean. Friendly staff. Having free coffee and orange juice at breakfast was nice, as was having a fridge in the room.

I didn’t see any nondairy proteins at breakfast—I was hoping for eggs, sausage, bacon but it seemed to mostly be carbs. Cut fruit would also have been nice. Orange juice was room temperature. There was no elevator so I struggled up the flight of steps with my rollaboard, I wasn’t expecting that. It would have been nice to have a little desk in the room, and an outlet to charge my phone by the nightstand.

Great staff, very helpful & courteous. Room was spacious, big tv, nice fridge, large, comfortable beds & pillows. Shower is nice, bathroom has Hollywood style mirror, plenty of lights in bathoom & main room. Everywhere was clean & fresh. Didnt use pool or communal facilities as we had lots to do but, it was there if we wanted to use it. Reception has lovely communal seating arrangement. Location is great, near to everything & felt very safe, we didn't see any problems like violence or drug use in the area. Lots of parking available just outside the rooms. Would definitely stay again, thanks 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Everything was great, hardly anything to dislike. Hotel is not completely soundproof from outside or upstairs but, even with tht in mind we didn't hear much noise at all from other guests & couldn't hear any road traffic. A/C in the room is a bit noisy & tht's the only negative thing we can think of.

The location was excellent. It was closed to many things. For example, Universal Studios is just 15 minutes away by car and there are many restaurants near to the hotel. Free parking onsite is also very convinient. The staff was very friendly. The room was big and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel let you take for free bottles of water, juice and milk that they have in the fridge of the reception at any time. The room had a big tv and a fridge. The air con worked very well. I recommend this hotel and if I come back to Los Angeles, I will certainly stay again in this hotel.

Not that I didn’t like it but I would suggest more mirrors in the room. There was only the 1 mirror over the sink in the bathroom and it would be nice to have a full length mirror or at least a second mirror in the room so that one person could continue to get ready while another person is in the shower/bathroom.

The Sojourn was a wonderful place. It was comfortable and clean and the staff were amazing. The rooms were very cozy and we got fresh towels when needed. The pool was great too. I totally recommend coming here. In fact, my next trip to LA will be at the Soujourn!

I didn't like the choice of food for the morning breakfast. There were many carbs and sugar in the items offered.
