I evacuated Florida for Hurricane Milton so we drove and drove and started checking for hotels. Luckily I booked this hotel. We have been very stressed with boarding our home and preparing to evacuate and this hotel was so nice and comfortable it was like heaven for a few days. Loved the room, the view and especially that the dogs were very welcome! That was amazing so many had pets with them and nice to have a place to stay. The bed was so comfortable! The bathroom was Beautiful and shower was amazing! Much needed during this high anxiety time. Thank you again! All of the staff was so nice and helpful also. Always smiling.

Evening was great but a small coffee maker and coffee in the room would be a plus

Oaks on the River is a fantastic resort property. With all the southern charm and hospitality imaginable, this property is nestled in the most picturesque little town of Darien, GA. The hotel staff are amazing, and everyone there seems to strive to make the guests as comfortable as possible. Our stay was due to evacuating from hurricane Milton, but after arriving much of the stress simply disappeared and it became more of a vacation. Our room was very comfortably furnished and impeccably clean. The river view is stunning at dawn as the early morning sun bounces off the gently moving water and gives any naturalist or avid bird watcher a show. Sitting on the balcony with a cup of coffee and watching the day start was so relaxing and made us almost forget about why we were there. The hotel has a very nice restaurant, the Oaks Club and Cedar Bar, serving one of the best peach cobblers ever created and offers a nice variety of appetizers and entrees. It is also within walking distance to a variety of quaint art galleries and craft/antique shops and of course, unique dining options. If you ever get a chance to stay here, it is worthwhile to check out Skippers Fish Camp for their shrimp dip and brisket and the Shanty Café for a great cup of coffee and one of the tastiest BLT croissant sandwiches. We cannot wait to return for a nice long weekend!

While this may be a little cliché, there was really nothing we didn't like. There were some minor issues that we experienced, but the staff handled them all with great care and professionalism. When we checked in, our room was not available, not just because it was not ready, but due to an error it seemed it had been taken by another guest. Instead of making it an issue that we had to solve, the staff quickly went through the open inventory and gave us another larger room instead. With the influx of guests due to hurricane Milton, the hotel could have simply said that we were out of luck or demanded an increase in room cost, however they did not and held their error as their problem and did not pass anything more than a smile and a welcome to us as they handed us our room keys.

The hotel is so classy and well run. All the staff are pleasant and helpful Restaurant and bar are fabulous Views of the river are exceptionally beautiful and relaxing Pool is situated right near the river and seating is very comfortable

Spa was closed so next time I will inquire prior to making a reservation so I’m not disappointed Pool towels are given at the front desk and there is no place at the pool to deposit used towels Wish the pool bar was available every day!

Beautiful location and facilities for a family wedding. Attentive staff and excellent food and drinks. Exceptionally clean rooms well stocked with towels and toiletries in refillable bottles mounted in wall racks to reduce the waste of single-use plastic containers.

The air conditioning unit was not working in the original room and we were moved to another with the assistance of the staff. Unfortunately it was not working in the second room either but we just opened the door and let the breeze blow in.

Im having a hard time thinking of anything in the slightest, to say negative about it. I absolutely loved the location, its cleanliness, and the staff was top-notch. Pure gem in Darien! Will be back in the near future. It's not your normal hotel experience. Ran like a well-oiled machine. Recommend to the inth degree. Oaks is run and done right in all facets, plain and simple. Impressed.

Great location on the river Our King Studio rm . with balcony over looking river was very nice comfortable and clean the added thoughtful touch a sweet note on the bedside table welcoming us from the room service attendant . Loved the fun atmosphere friendly staff very accommodating we enjoyed breakfast lunch and dinner from the cedar bar and restaurant will be visiting again soon .

Everything was truly wonderful! Many good restaurants close by and the hotel restaurant was very nice! Rooms were clean and comfortable! The manager ( I didnt get her name) was such a joy and very professional and accomodating!

The only issue we had was one waitress at the restaurant was not very attentive to us and we felt ignored. We were just two people and ordered appetizers and felt she was more attentive to her bigger tables. We would have tipped her quite generously otherwise but did not.

I did like the location, the design inside, the staff was extremely friendly, and we could bring our pets. The shower was spacious and nice.

I didn’t like that the room door was not sound or “weather proof” so when our dogs barked it echoed down the hall which they do right when we leave and when we turned our air down, there wasn’t a chance to even keep temperature. We were near the side door entrance and exit. We could also hear every time the maid door we were next to, was opened, could hear all hallway noise, and every time the side door to the building was opened.

We opted for a King suite with river view! Always a pleasure to stay in Happy hour both indoors and poolside service is amazing Walking distance to other venues as well. The Lobby just sucks you in and makes you want to stay!

Shower floor can be a bit slippery We are now bringing a small bath mat to use

The state itself was great. I did not like seeing that there was a $50 per night charge on my account for having my dog when I was told when I checked in there was a $50 charge for dogs. Not $50 per night. I also think maybe a map of the hotel and what is where would help a lot also.
