The hotel location was fabulous, just two blocks off Waikiki beach. The hotel staff was startlingly responsive and always friendly. The rooms were adequate (we had an ocean view on one side of the hallway and a city view on the other side of the hallway on a different floor). The kitchen was well equipped; we prepared most of our own meals. Linens were completely acceptable and towels were readily available. The soaps, shampoo, etc. were plentiful and again, if you ran out, readily available around the clock. The kids I traveled with (15 and 10) LOVED the pool. We went every day. The hotel has beach towels that you can exchange every day for clean towels. A really nice touch. And, anything you need -- from more coffee to towels -- is available at the front desk in the late afternoon/evening. The entire staff, from towel exchange in housekeeping to the front desk was VERY friendly and responsive. The overnight parking for guests is very reasonably priced (but the parking lot can be challenging).
The room key system is apparently "touchy", and the keys are easily de-magnetized, meaning you have to schlep down to the front desk and have another key made. At certain times of the day, the wait can be long for an elevator. I was surprised to see there was a $29/day resort fee (for a bunch of stuff I didn't need plus wi-fi, which I did want). So the room is $30/day more than the advertised price -- plus a bunch of taxes (which I am not complaining about).

room, location, bed, kitchen facilities, dvd player and dvd lending from machine on 5th floor, some flat pillows, shoe holder, free entrance to Bishop Museum, offer of daily newspaper, responsiveness of staff
Lack of knowledge of staff about location of DVD lending machine and how to use the stairways to exit the building, some of the electrical outlets in our room (1202) didn't work, having to pay to use bar-b-q grills, the spottiness of newspaper delivery. This review is most important for the Waikiki Banyan staff to read and attend to.

Location just 2 blocks from the beach and the Main Street in Waikiki. Hot tubs and pool on location. High floor give a great view of the ocean. Nice sized rooms! Staff was friendly and helped us switch to a better room when the original assigned one didn’t meet expectations.
Parking structure spots were very tight. We had a large SUV and it was impossible to park in between two cars. The structure was designed for small cars not for today’s large SUVs. The first allocated room was very rundown. Since these are condos, some rooms will be nice and others not so much.

This hotel exceeded our expectations! The price is super low, the rooms are spacious, the staff above and beyond friendly, everything was great. I highly recommend this place if you are traveling with kids or a group, or have an extended stay. Our room had a full kitchen with cookware, even a rice cooker! Full size fridge, all of the amenities one could want. The dining area was large, and the view from the balcony was amazing! The pool floor is very fun, with a clean pool and two jacuzzis, even a playground area for little kids and lots of bbq grills to use. This is a no-frills place that still keeps a nice level of comfort. I now highly recommend staying here, and we will be back! 😊

The first night the suite we got was not in a good shape The bathroom door was not closing, the night stand handles were falling. We called the receptionist to report and we were moved to a new one on the next day.
I didn’t use the kitchen to cook at all. There was no salt or paper for a first time ever. Not even a dish soap in the kitchen to wash the dishes. I went to the store to buy a soap at least

First rm we looked at was bad carpet was musty, shower head real rusted out, balcony door lock wouldn't lock. I went down stairs and let them know they were real good about it, I looked at another rm and that was much nicer we took it. But no luggage rack, no alarm clock, other than that it was ok. Cliff was such a good host.
On your site it said parking was free but when I got there I had to pay $230.00 for 7days not to happy with that.

Just appreciate how courteous the staff were when we checked in. It was a very seamless process and no complications whatsoever.
It’s entirely understandable that the property needs to work on the swimming pool project to provide a better experience for all guests; however, it would have been a great experience, especially for my two children, to enjoy the pool, but I cannot complain since the location is near the beach.

We were allocated a premium Ocean View room in tower 2 on the 33rd Floor. The views of the ocean and beach were fantastic even though there were other buildings in front of our accommodation. Great self-contained accommodation with a King Size bed, dining setting (table and six chairs), lounge area with 2 single chairs and a 3 seater lounge chair (which could convert to a double bed) and a kitchen with full size refrigerator, very large microwave oven and full size electric range. The bathroom had been partially renovated with a new bathroom vanity and had a walk in shower (with shower curtain). There was also a balcony with two chairs and a table. There was also a stand alone air conditioner.
WE had problems with hot water in the bathroom vanity. On entering the unit there was excess water on the floor of the bathroom adjacent to the wall. The water was a brownish color. A call to reception resulted in building maintenance being sent to our room and it was ascertained that the hot water tap in the wall behind the vanity was leaking. The maintenance person called his supervisor who advised that he would obtain the necessary replacement parts and fix the problem. We were offer to relocated to another room. However we were reluctant to accept as we were very happy with the room we had and advised maintenance that we would be out of the room and were happy for them to come and fix the problem.

Nice layout of facilities and apartment style rooms. Great coffee shop with good hours. Very nice convenience store in facility. Staff very helpful on all topics and requests.
Elevators were a bit of a problem at times. One was under repair. Sometimes we waited 10 minutes with no elevator and had to change our plans. Many other customers had same experience it seemed.
