The location is more than perfect. Literally one block from the beach and the mains bars and restaurants. Waikiki is the main pint to get to everywhere in the island.

The staff needs to improve tons. There is a lack of training, they have very limited knowledge about the area, the facilities, their manners are not proper, they don’t know how to treat people or costumers, it doesn’t seem that they were hired after a competitive process . For instance, the ring bell was not working and when I asked the person in the front desk what was happening he just simple said “the ringbell is dead, it is what is is”. They should do better hiring and training people.

I liked that they supplied a towel in addion to the fresh linens, and that they allow guests to select their own bunk bed from what is available.

Entering the dorm room with the keypad provided was problematc. The numbers were poorly lit, and after struggling for quite a while I accidentally discovered that The handle had to be RAISED, not lowered. It would have been helpful if the friendly receptionist had taken a moment to mention this.

Depending on who occupied the room prior to new users, the condition of the room (level of noise, cleanness of kitchen and living room) drastically change so as to the subjective satisfaction. My first three days, my roomate was very noise one. She constantlly called to somebody and made noise at late night. It was challenging because she did not listen to request to be quite. All three roomates requested her to stop yet she never listened. Next three days were quite and decent. That is both strength and weekness of hostel system. So it is your fortune :) Facilities, staffs and procimity to nearby sites were excellent.

1) good location, tourist area, close to the beach and amenities. I felt safe. This hostel is frequented by tourists. 2) the rooms were cleaned daily. 3) good price and cost

1) the water in the shower was not that hot. 2) the individual lockers were so small that they couldn't fit a medium backpack. 3) the beds do not have curtains, so there is no privacy at all. 4) the room only had one chair available for 16 people. So, if you were on the top bunk, you would have to sit on the floor. 5) they said that snorkels, beach chairs and umbrellas would be available, but I never saw them. Either there are none or there are few, because even in the morning there were only floats available. 6) there is a daily cost per towel, which is ridiculous. If I booked a bed for 7 days, there should be 7 towels, that's the minimum.

The location is unbeatable! The price is reasonable! The staff are so friendly! Bed was comfortable!

Everything was good until they squeezed a man into our “female dorm” on my last night at there. I mean the man was easygoing and maybe the other roommate had agreed with his stay( while I was not in the room?), but it’s definitely not proper to do so. Except this, my first three nights were wonderful, all the roommates were respectful and well behaved.

Hostel has a great location right by the beach, bus stop and walking distance to everything in Waikiki. Rooms are spacious and every room has it's own bathroom. I loved that we could rent beach equipment (snorkel gear, chairs & matts) at the reception for free. Hostel has a shared kitchen, which is very nice, useful and clean.

The beds are not the best, even tho they are comfortable, I had the top bed and the ladder to climb up is just the worst, it hurt my feet so I ended using a chair to get up my bed... The AC in the room is very loud. Beds do not have any power sockets, there are only some big shared ones for the whole room on the table. Also there is no night lamp by the bed... They close the kitchen and lounge every night from 10pm to 7am, which is very inconvenient cause I didn't have anywhere to go and eat or work on my computer during that times.

What I liked: I truly appreciate everything—every detail matters to me, and I can see the quality and care behind the services. The hostel is kept in beautiful condition, and the atmosphere feels peaceful and welcoming thanks to the supervisor. She’s always working hard, decorating every space so guests can feel like they’re in a little piece of heaven. and presence helped restore the overall positive experience.

What I didn’t like: The woman in charge of the pancakes is not welcoming at all. She acts like we have to beg or earn the pancakes, which feels really disrespectful. She doesn’t greet guests or make them feel comfortable—no “hi,” no “welcome,” just attitude. That’s not good service. A bit of kindness and basic hospitality would make a big difference. I suggest some guest service training to help her connect better with people. Thankfully, the supervisor's kindness and presence helped restore the overall positive experience.

What I liked about the hostel: Everything! The new decorations in the dining room are so welcoming, and the maintenance team is always present — keeping every area clean with care. You can really feel the love and dedication they have for this hostel. It creates a peaceful and inviting environment for all guests.

What could be improved: During my stay, I had an uncomfortable experience with the pancake lady — a collaborator who serves breakfast and mentioned that she is not officially part of the hostel staff. She made a personal comment that felt intrusive and crossed a boundary. I understand it may not have been intended to hurt, but it reminded me how important it is for guests to feel emotionally safe and respected, especially those going through healing or transition. A bit more awareness around respectful communication could make this hostel — which is already beautiful — feel even more welcoming for everyone.
