It was a last minute stop on a road trip. You never know what you'll get in an area you're not familiar with. It was right off the freeway, so very easy off and easy on back on my trip. It was very clean, I felt safe, and had a nice breakfast that was included. The room was spacious and exceeded my expectations.

I didn't see an elevator, it was challenging to get my heavy suitcase up to the second floor. There was also some sort of mechanical equipment outside my room, maybe an air conditioning unit, it had a rather loud rumbling sound, which I was able to silence with earplugs, but would've been nice to not have to use them.

The staff was amazing and there was ample parking. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet - I heard a screaming child in the hall when I was by the door, but when I got in bed I barely heard hall noise.

The hotel is older and showing its age. The bathroom I had was very small for what I would expect for a suite. The pillows were not good at all - I felt like I was sleeping on a HUGE mound of cotton balls. I am sure pillow preference varies, but the choice was limited to thick or thicker.

I am grateful to Booking.com for providing the AmericInn by Wyndham at Johnston's front desk number so clearly and as a phone call link on my booking information and receipt, as I needed that number at hand more than once. I needed to adjust my reservation, even after confirmation, and called the front desk number to discuss my options with Paula. About five hours following checkout, I had completed my activities in Des Moines and was headed home when I realized that I had left my raincoat in my room. I again called the front desk number to discuss the matter with Allison. When I needed assistance, Paula and Allison both listened carefully and did everything to meet my needs, solve my problems, and confirm that the honest staff had found and protected my raincoat. I couldn't have been more pleased when them and with our breakfast attendant who helped with my request for hot water for tea when I found none provided near the tea bags and coffee carafes.

It is just momentarily a bit confusing to need to get off Merle Hay Road and drive through an Acura dealership lot to reach the AmericInn lot and entrance. Of course, it is marked with signage and, once I managed the first attempt without issue, other than my concerns that I was in the wrong place, all was well.

Staff was amazing and accommodating. The location is kind of crazy and the highway noise is SO LOUD when you're outside, and surprisingly blocked when you're inside. I was amazed and pleasantly surprised. Rooms were recently updated, breakfast was pretty good. I was just driving through, and I would absolutely stay here again.

Location was convenient for just passing through, but I wouldn't want that location if you're sticking around in Des Moines. But very minor if you just need a place to lay your head.

Clean and comfortable beds. Great water pressure, and the room had a big tub/ shower. A microwave and refrigerator were available. Breakfast was included and was typical. Good coffee. The woman at the front desk was very friendly. I was pleasantly surprised because it was so affordable. The only negative was the $25 pet fee, but even with that, it was a good value compared to competitors. They have a nice pool and exercise room.

Pet fee seemed high.

Breakfast was good. The place was quiet, the beds were comfortable and clean. We liked the fact that there was a fridge and a microwave in the room.

It's convenient to the highway, but it's surrounded by car dealerships. So the area is not very nice and surprisingly enough there's not enough parking.

Room was clean, bed was very comfortable, shower had good pressure, and the breakfast was very good.

Didn't need it but the TV did not work. We had other devices we were using so didn't call to complain. Wife was a little surprised a blow dryer was not supplied.

The receptionist was so friendly and went above and beyond! We had plenty of towels and even requested more pillows and blankets and were given them without hesitation. Our room was clean and housekeeping was offered.

Pool was cold and there was no hot tub. Rooms could definitely use an update.

Room was nice. Bed comfortable. Well suited for computer space. Breakfast was good.

Toilet appeared to be more child size. Not as tall as most I have ever used. Very inconvenient at times. This one thing kept it from getting 5 stars.

Our room was clean and the king bed was comfortable. We loved that the window opens up to the pool. That was a bonus for us. :) The breakfast was good. We had some before church. Thank you.

The price we paid here for one night was usually the price we paid for two nights at our other stays. :(
