The La Quinta by Wyndham in Altoona, Iowa was a VERY PLEASANT hotel in which to stay! Our room was very COMFORTABLE with plenty of TV stations to choose from, an OUTSTANDING WALK-IN SHOWER, fridge, microwave, desk, and seating. The BREAKFAST was FABULOUS with scrambled eggs, sausage links, waffles, bagels, etc. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it if you are in this area.

The ONLY possible negative that I could see was that the pool is VERY SMALL. I enjoy swimming but chose not to on this stay due to children in the pool and the fact that there is no Jacuzzi as well.

It was all great!. We had been on a 2 week vacation, so we had stayed at 6 different hotels. Traveling from Indiana to California and back. To be honest, this one was the best value. Smelled clean as soon as you walk in. The room was nicely cleaned, and our bed was amazing. The location was nice as well. There are plenty of food options all around. The price was amazing. It was the cheapest place we had stayed, but don't let price fool you, it is a very nice place!. Breakfast was pretty good too. If in that area again I would choose this place again!.

No real complaints. I did book through a third party, so we were double charged. We told the front desk, and she had it fixed in no time.

Most la quintas are very clean and comfortable. These pillows seemed lumpy but I’m a fussy pillow person so sorry about that, lol! The breakfast had many options and eggs and meat was very very awesome, haven’t seen that for long time, so thank you. Did you stop baking the cookies? I didn’t see any in the lobby?

The pet rooms were on the third floor, how dumb is that? Even with the elevator, sure is idiotic to have on 3rd instead of first. Plus the dog area needs a bit more light, pretty dark for women having to take their dog out for last pee for night.

Everything was as expected the heat thermostats weren’t working properly because it was extremely hot even though you tried to turn the thermostat down. It still stayed at the same temperature had maintenance come and look at it and still no change.

The dogs barking across the hall constantly all night, long all day, long barking barking barking when asked about it. They said that the barking floor the dog floor was full and so they had to put the Pets down on the second floor. Well, I’m sorry you just inconvenienced the people that didn’t want to hear dogs.

Actually I did NOT request a quiet room, however I did comment that it was nice and quiet. Just assumed that was because we were on the 4th floor. My request, if you really call it that, was that we would not be arriving until 11pm

Staff needs to learn how to make coffee!! The only coffee available in my room was 4 packets, ALL DECAF...YUCK! Then the coffee in the lobby was not marked as regular or decaf...just a crap shoot I guess?? The one pot was marked 'dark' however it looked like VERY weak tea and tasted like flavored water....Otherwise breakfast was fine, but coffee is very important! I understand that this hotel allows pets, but I do NOT feel that they should be allowed in the room where the breakfast is located! It gets crowded and they are in the way or people are holding small dogs right OVER the food where the rest of us are supposed to eat from....EWWWW!!!!

There was a big hole in the ceiling in the shower that leaked water from the roof while showering. The housekeeping staff was terrible. Every time we would leave the room with our dogs, they would scream, yes scream, and run like the dogs were going to bite them. It was so over the top and very rude. My dogs didn’t even look their way. It was so overly dramatic and very annoying.

I have stayed here multiple times. It is a newer hotel always at a good price and a nice breakfast.

The last couple of times I have stayed there it was less clean and outside was not well kept. The landscape greatly needed maintenance. Also, the front desk people were not readily available upon check in or were off doing something else when I needed something from the front desk….Also, many people have pets in the rooms which is impacting the durability of the room.

the property was very nice.

the only problem i had was that i booked this for my 19 year old daughter. i called 3 separate times to confirm the check in age, i was told 18 every time. On the day my daughter arrived they said she couldn’t check in because the check in age was 21. As my daughter was there waiting, the person on the phone said i had to wait so they could check in other people? as if my daughter wasn’t trying to check in as well. After about 30 minutes they finally let her check in.

Everything is clean and modern. The breakfast was fantastic and a pleasant surprise. Biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, waffle maker, and the other usual cold stuff. Great location off I80 and close to Adventureland and Prairie Meadows for the race track and casino.

The beds were a bit hard and pillows not great.

It was nice looking. Nice breakfast and breakfast lady.

The elevator smelled like pot, there was soda or some thing spilled all over the floor by the lounge elevators, kids were running up and down the hallways after 10pm. The same garbage that was outside 3 guests doors at 9:30 pm when we arrived was still outside their doors the next morning. There were no luggage carts when we checked in or out. That isn’t cool at all.
