Breakfast was good, area very clean. Food hot. The caretakers for breakfast should have a cart to carry the coffee to the breakfast area. It's heavy and very clumsy to do for the employees.

A roach climbing across the TV. Room 212 has a very large gap between the door and jamb. This makes the room quite noisy and a bit disturbing to be able to see people and carpeting from inside the room with the door closed. It can be adjusted from the hinged side at virtually no cost. Unsure if poor craftsmanship or the walls are sinking but its quite a gap.

The breakfast choices were very good, the room was clean, and the staff was very friendly. In the room there was a little fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The bathroom was just renovated with a nice shower and a good supply of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap and even body lotion.

There were a few little things that caught my eye. First the door to the bathroom was falling apart. Next the renovated shower was leaking to the floor in the corner and there were some dirty spots by the hinges in the bathroom door. The room was not that big as expected.

Everything except below.....always stay at HIE&S when available in area of travel. Front desk staff was phenomenal! Very helpful and courteous!

We had to leave for a softball tournament at before breakfast started. Evening front desk staff said we could grab some of the cold stuff that would likely be out before leaving. Morning front desk staff concurred "as long as kitchen staff was OK with it". Staff setting up breakfast said no....however there may have been a language barrier.

I went there with my husband and children of three .The ladies behind the front desk and were ready to give answers to our questions and inquires. Rooms were clean and sanitized , not that spacious , but okay. Though it would have been actually better if it had more light bulbs in the rooms, because it was kinda dark. The bathroom was clean and well maintained .Breakfast was delicious though the options were small and could be more improved , by that it would have been better if the eggs were organic, instead of the powdered eggs, and the breads weren’t fresh. There was 24/7 hot water and coffee, which we found really pleasant, the lady at the breakfast table there was really nice and kind. The pool was quite refreshing and soothing .The gym room was nice and good ,okay to workout with the basic types of exercise. The location was great as it was behind a bus station, and you could get to the main attractions in DC, in half an hour, close to many shop centers. We would come there again if we go to Washington DC , definitely recommend it.

They promised to return the deposit immediately after check-out, but they still haven't returned the deposit

I absolutely loved the location, it was so Nicely situated between all the shops, you've got so many options of shops in such close vicinity, which makes this such an ideal place to stay for anyone especially if you need to do some shopping. The parks/lake was really nice as well and close which was great for me as I loved walking around the park.

Honestly nothing, but only point for me was the breakfast time, it would be great for it to finish a bit later like 10am but that's just personal preference for me.

Wonderful staff, Rosa was amazing taking care of us for breakfast, the breakfast was standard issue hotel breakfast (nothing from scratch) but still decent. The manager does a good job of maintaining the hotel. Parking was plentiful, lots of shopping and dining nearby. The bacon and pancakes were delicious.

I think an upgrade to the breakfast would make a huge difference, like fresh eggs (option) instead of frozen pre-packaged. The bacon and pancakes were great. Loud vending machine in the lobby should be replaced but doesn't impact the rooms/stay.

The breakfast was very good, so glad they had turkey as a breakfast option. Not too many places offer something other than pork so that was refreshing. The beds and pillows were very very comfortable. (Huge plus) Staff was very kind and helpful with any questions/issues I had during my stay.

Someone was able to charge $24 worth of items to my room. Good thing I got a detailed receipt because I probably would've missed it. The lady at the front counter was very helpful and took those charges off. The pool and hot tub was smaller than the pictures made it look, but the kids enjoyed so it's fine.

Staff was super nice and made you feel welcome. Overall clean. Offered breakfast, but we slept in. There was a storm coming in the area at the time we stayed, and we were asked if we had a preference on which floor we'd like to stay on (upper or lower), thought that was a nice thing to offer.

Pool not the greatest. And kids in there were running and jumping in the pool, splashing others, need more control in there.

The hotel seemed clean and appropriate for its price range. It was easy to access from the airport, and had a decent breakfast for a family. The place seemed like it would have been nice if we had received the rooms we requested.

The hotel gave away one of the 2 rooms that we had booked because we arrived late (due to flight delays). The check-in person on the night we arrived was unhelpful. The front desk person and the manager the next day were very helpful and professional and were able to ensure a refund. Unfortunately, we had one sleepless night since 4 adults were crammed together in 2 double beds.

The hotel does everything great at a base level. Staff was great, facilities were great, rooms were great, just good/great all around.

Breakfast was a little overcrowded no matter what time I went. Maybe a little better organization of the breakfast line to help with flow could be beneficial. It can feel like a lot of people jumping on each other at times. Other than that, no complaints.
