The property is beautiful! So nice, our breakfast lady was so happy and friendly, we loved her. We had dinner in 1818. The restaurant has beautiful decor, we did find it slightly odd that they didn’t have Spotify premium so there was adds on in the restaurant music which did kill the vibe slightly. Our receptionist was lovely on check out also, super friendly guy. The room was beautiful and the bed was so so comfy!! The grounds are well kept. There is parts that could do with a repaint and some TLC but a building this old it just comes with the nature. Our waiter die was also fab! Super nice guy

Historic old home with lovely grounds: ponds, folly, gazebo. Lovely breakfast spot with good food and great service. Dinner was intimate setting within house, good food and nice wine list, very quiet and excellent waitstaff. Loved walking the grounds. Free catch and release fishing in ponds. Room was comfortable and slept well in the bed. All the staff was super. Loved having the bar room for pre dinner drinks. Great bartender. Nice gathering space.

Bathroom could use remodel but was functional. Bathtub shower could be hard to get in and out of if short or have mobility problems- in general the property is not equipped for mobility issues, nor can it be equipped without destroying historical feel. Gravel drive adds some noise by rooms as cars park behind buildings but was not an issue past 10pm. Property was not at its best as horrible storm had moved through a week before and did some damage.

Beautiful place in a very peaceful environment. Easy to access and a lot of parking spaces. The staff were very friendly. We also got a free guided tour of the main building. The southern breakfast was good and partly cooked to order. Also tried restaurant 1818, which was good.

The main lighting in the room was only remote controlled and it took us a while to figure that out. The air condition was also a bit tricky to adjust. At one time, there was no hot water in the shower. Was surprised that our waitress at restaurant 1818 knew nothing about wine, not even though there was only a limited selection on the menu and they claim to be the best restaurant in Natchez.

Lovely room and gardens. So much more pleasing than a standard hotel. Rocking chairs overlooking the pond with a walking bridge and fountain outside of our cottage door were wonderful.

The gardens are beautiful but definitely need care. There are empty planters and planters of weeds once walking away from the main house. Overgrown boxwoods with uneven trimming across the tops take away from the original garden layout of magnificent design. Dead wood/ branches needs cutting out of shrub s and the steep gravel drive entrance is severely rutted and needing grading. The tractor with the bucket we saw on the property could have solved that issue but was not employed to do so. Drag the bucket backwards! The swag curtains need vacuuming.

The staff were lovely and the setting was beautiful. The room was unusual and relaxing. L'Occitaine toiletries were a bonus. Breakfast was a calm, relaxing affair in the garden room, hosted by a lovely lady. Cold items were served buffet style whilst hot food was brought to the table, plated.

If you want to eat in the restaurant, book in advance. We should have realised this as we were staying on New Year's Eve. There is no room service but uber eats will deliver. A tour of the house is included with payment for incidentals but we missed out because it was New Year's Day.

This was our 24th stay and always everything was perfect. The staff is always so helpful and we were greeted by our friend Hal and checked in by always helpful Michael. The next morning breakfast by Miss Mary is always a hit and our breakfast ladies, Nichell and Diamond, make it fun and always enjoyable. The only thing missing was Warren and Nancy, the owners. They are such a pleasure to visit with at the Quitman Lounge. We are already looking forward to our next visit real soon.

It was very quiet, relaxing. Everything was a short walk, which was convenient. The AC was ice cold :) and the water was HOT! Loved the complimentary breakfast

I wouldn’t say “didn’t like,” but the property just needs a little TLC. Some trimming of bushes, trees, and maybe some spray to kill the growing over of the weeds. Our curtains were also full of dust, but the bed drapes were fine. Huge light outside that shined towards our window so we had light coming through the cracks all night.

The Monmouth is located in a very well-kept park. The 1818 restaurant and especially the breakfast room are extremely well-kept. The staff is very friendly. If you enjoy historic antebellum villas, this is the right place for you.

You can tell that some of the buildings were restored more than 40 years ago. Carpets have been laid over what are presumably original wooden floors, which is almost always a shame (both in the rooms and on the veranda [!] of the reception building). These carpets are stained and have been worn out for many years. Some of the window and veranda slats are falling apart. The bathroom, on the other hand, was very nice with wooden floors and a shower with stone tiles (we were in the General Jackson room). Maintaining such a large historic property is a big task that requires a lot of expertise, love and finances - if you do it really well, it's more of a hobby than a way to make money.

The location is lovely with very nice gardens and historic touches. Staff went the extra mile when we left an item in the room--they contacted us and sent it back to us. There's a free tour, which really takes you nowhere you can't see on your own, but the commentary/insights were worth it.

There's need for upkeep and more staff. It seems that the hotel is running at a minimal level, which is too bad for how nice the setting is.

We wanted a romantic getaway and that's exactly what we got! It wasn't crowded or loud. It was very peaceful, historic and private. The staff were very knowledgeable and so friendly! I can't recommend this place enough!!!

If you get the room with the spa tub thinking that it will be big enough for 2 people, its not. However that's really not that big of a deal! Everything else was so perfect! I would just say skip the spa tub if that's what you are thinking 🤣
