Peaceful room with a great view of the river off of the balcony. We had coffee in the morning and watched the beavers and deer going about their business paying little attention to us. The onsight staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was served fresh in the lobby with made to order waffles and the casserole of the day. The most relaxing hotel stay we've had in a while... and we've had quite a few so that's saying a lot. The location is about a mile from downtown so getting around and back to the room at night was a snap. Nice room with a very comfortable bed and large bathroom. The furniture and decor perfectly suited for a stay in NW Montana. Highly recommend.

The property and views are incredibly lovely. The staff is helpful, kind and attentive. Very clean facilities and good breakfast were much appreciated. It was a lot of fun seeing the wildlife on the river with my kids as we ate!

The queen size bed was broken in to the point that I had to eventually crawl into the twin bed with the baby to get to sleep. Even my 20 lb toddler seemed to be sinking in the middle. The gap between the mattress and the headboard was also quite large and needed to be filled with pillows so said toddler didn’t get hurt. I know there’s not much to be done about this next comment which is that the balcony can’t be really enjoyed in that room because of the air conditioner noise. Such a bummer!

Feel like you’re staying at a friend’s home. Such pride of ownership in the property you feel obligated to leave it neat and tidy. Had a view of the lake and balcony which was just so lovely and peaceful. Highly recommend supporting such small business establishments. Excellent stay!!!

Needs iPhone chargers in the room connected to the clock or outlet or light. At least one please! Lol. Would have preferred hand held shower head and stronger water flow.

Breakfast was great. Lots of items to choose from. Room was cozy. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom a good size but the tub was a little tall for me to navigate. Location is excellent as it is less than a mile from downtown Whitefish.

Little repairs need to be made. Rusty spots on the shower bar should be removed. Holes in the fireplace are very large. Carpet needs updating.

Just like all the other reviews say, it was a great stay. Super comfy king bed, really deep bathtub (pro tip- bring epsom salts), quiet and peaceful, really impressive fresh breakfast, very attentive and helpful staff, cute and comfy communal hangout area with nice big tables by the river. Will definitely stay here again.

Honestly nothing

The staff was absolutely amazing and the breakfasts were delicious, definitely try the different egg bakes and the waffles! Mark as an owner and property manager works hard to make sure your stay is comfortable. The Duck has an incredible kitchen staff that includes Dylan, Abby, Turner and Jackson. Dylan and Mark made an incredible recommendation on where to go to celebrate our anniversary dinner, as well as, suggestions of what to see in Glacier National Park and where to get baked goods. The room was lovely, with a gas fire place, mini fridge, large tub and private balcony overlooking the river where we could watch the ducks, deer and beaver every morning without having to leaving our room. We enjoyed the room and the lodge but bantering with Mark and Dylan each day made it top notch! Just honest, good people! Thank you all!

Loved the location and the breakfasts that were made for us every morning. I loved the spa bath which I used the last night after getting home at 10pm from hiking 8 hours - was so tired.

Too much light in the room, I had towels and shorts over the 6 lights around the room. No sleep in in this room as there were no blackout curtains. Bed was terrible too. Pillows too soft too. The room was huge though which I loved. I am just a light sleeper and need it dark to be able to sleep. Loved the overall stay here.

The room was comfy and cozy. The only thing was the refrig was a little small but we made it work in the corner. The bed was comforable and the bathroom had a window that allowed us to open and get in fresh air after the shower steamed it up. The view was pretty on the river and though we didnt use the fireplace as it was summer, it was cozy. Only thing was the room air conditioner was a bit noisy. Totally fine at night while we were sleeping, but not great when we sat on the balcony and had wine.

The room was spacious and clean. Enjoyed having a fireplace in the room. Breakfast was good, lots of choices. The view was spectacular and the distance to the downtown area was short allowing us to enjoy walks into town. We got in late on our first night and they had a key and instructions for us. Overall excellent stay, Would highly recommend the Duck Inn to anyone staying in Whitefish.

We had such a wonderful stay here, and cannot say enough good things! Everything is spotlessly clean and also cozy - there's a beautiful river and grassy area with weeping willows just next to the inn. Our room was perfect with a super comfortable bed, and the breakfast is delicious (the waffles in particular are amazing). The owners were so kind and gracious, and we would definitely come back to stay again. (Also conveniently not too far from town.)
