The room was more than I expected. Modern decor, very comfortable and clean. Unlike other hotels you would probably pay more for what was included in this the room. A table that sat two people and couch to sit and relax on so you’re not confined to only the bed, that was a very comfortable king size. And most importantly the large smart tv. FYI microwave and empty mini fridge also in the room, so bring some stuff and you’ll be good for the weekend!!!!

I didn’t like that it wasn’t free for me to stay, haha. Another thing I didn’t like was I didn’t know about this place sooner.

The staff was super nice and helped us check in and get our bags to the room! We got there late and tired so this was super nice on his part. Room was spotless and we had coffee, tea, ice and snacks right next to use which was perfect. The place was quiet which is nice especially it being close to a main road.

Lighting isn't that good. But it's not spesific to this place but all over the US. For some reason they like to keep their rooms (and homes) in the dark once the sun sets...

I am very impressed by the cleanliness of this hotel. This was my second time staying here and the staff has been very friendly. I was hoping to stay in the same room I stayed the first time and to my delight the owner remembered me and asked me if I wanted the same room. Both stays have been very peaceful and I’m looking forward to staying again. Do not hesitate to stay here if you need a clean bed, a cup of coffee in the am and a convenient location.

Everything about this hotel just is lovely and comfortable, Mr Kenny is the owner and is more than willing to go a couple of extra steps just to help you and make the stay more comfortable in anyway possible, I stayed their for almost 3 weeks and I loved my queen room Clean, spacious, daily housekeeping upon request,tv with subscription, endless supply of coffee and ice (free), vending machines available as well My room was quiet even though it was on the street I highly recommend it for short or long stays in Avenel,NJ

Ligthing Location (nothing within a walking distance must have a car or uber) Larger window would be amaazing But with everything I would gladly go over and over

-Very Clean -Nice Staff -Quiet and lowkey We had an amazing stay at Horizon inn! Our spa tub room was completely renovated and we loved the fireplace and smart tv! So easy to watch whatever streaming service you like. Rooms are very soundproof and we enjoyed peace and quiet. The owner of the hotel I presume called to check in with us about arrival time and was waiting for us when we got to the desk. He even showed us 2 different rooms, and showed us how everything worked and let us have our pick! I would highly recommend to anyone looking in the area!

This was my second time at the Horizon Inn. I take New Jersey Transit to the Avenel Station and walk ten minutes. Pleasant walk and great price. Large rooms, microwave, refrigerator and easy walk to a 24 hour very nice food store/gas station.

Goglec maps gives you approach to talk from Avenel train station thru nice neighborhoods. Otherwise, you end up walking on Highway 1 with no sidewalks.

I was not expecting much as I booked this urgently since my flight had been canceled. The personnel was extremely welcoming and they made sure I had all the needed information. The rooms were recently renovated and everything is modern and clean. Could not ask more from a hotel in this area.

I was advised not to take the shuttle to the airport as it ends up being more expensive than taking a uber since I was alone.

We needed a hotel close enough to Newark Airport with free parking. When we approached the hotel it didn't look appealing from the outside, but the room was better than we thought. We arrived slightly early, needing to drop off our luggage and go straight out to see a band in Red Bank. The room wasn't quite ready but we were given a choice of rooms and were allowed to leave our luggage. The man who checked us in showed us to our room, helped with the luggage and finished making up the room himself. Excellent service! Although we didn't stay long enough to make use of them, there was a TV, fridge and a microwave. There was a coffee machine in the hallway.

We only had a very short stay so there was nothing really we didn't like. The entrance to the hotel came suddenly as we saw the sign from the road and we could easily have missed it. There is no lift and it wasn't easy to drag heavy luggage up the stairs, but we were given help, which was much appreciated.

Room was remarkably clean, the shower had good hot water and pressure and all the small amenities offered at hotels along with more than a sufficient number of towels. The hotel was convenient for us to stay after a concert at the Avenel Performing Art Center. Small coffee/tea bar. Friendly and attentive staff.

For our short stay I could find no room for improvement.

Owner was very polite and super easy to deal with, and the room was big, modern and super clean! For $100/ night - this was an great deal. Honestly - I would expect to undoubtedly pay $150-$175 for this room. As for the overall value and price - 10 out of 10 in my mind. Worth every penny.

I got there near midnight and there were 2/3 seedy looking guest/people "hanging around" outside, looking a tad suspicious. I also regularly heard people walking in the hallway during the night outside my room until I woke up. As a grown man, it didn't really bother me. However, I would be bit more concerned for a sole traveling female guest.
