I like that I could park my car right in front of my room. Also the beds were super comfortable. They were a memory foam type of mattress. The staff was very nice and offered me drinks for free when I checked in. At night they had a live band playing in the front bar area. There was amenities that were close like restaurants and grocery stores that were just down the street. We were able to eat at Panda Express and bring her food back to the hotel and eat at their tables at the front. The swimming pool is very clean and my kids had a blast.

The only thing I would comment on about the room would be two things. First would be that the beds do not have fitted sheets or mattress protectors. Underneath the flat sheet is the bare mattress. I spoke to hotel staff and asked him if that is normal and they said that is just how they do it there. The second issue I had was the bathroom shower seems to have drainage issue. After taking a shower water was already running down the floor into the bedroom. The bathroom has a strange train that is not in the center of the shower it is on the edge where you enter. Also there is no door to the shower but that is by design.

The location is an easy walk to Old town. The decor was fabulous!

I believe the gentleman who checked us in was named Isaac. He was rude and unprofessional. I misunderstood something he said, and he told me I needed hearing aids. (Not as a joke) Later, when we came to the lounge to get ice, (the ice machine was broke.) he reluctantly got us ice. When we asked about the party/family room, he said he would open it for us, but requested that we clean up our shit. He used the word shit twice. To be clear, we didn't want to use the room, we were just inquiring about it. His manner was completely unprofessional.

We love staying at a small local hotel with good customer service- being able to park right in front of your room. Our room had character and was clean!!!! Staff was nice and the location was perfect for our stay. This was our first visit to New Mexico and The Monterey was the perfect home base for us for the week.

The only thing I have to “complain” about is that the room really needed a small set of drawers or something to hide our things. We don’t like clutter out when we are traveling and felt like things had to be out on the counter. It’s a small thing to critique. Everything else was wonderful.

Absolutely loved the vibe, the room was excellent, the woman who checked us in was lovely and helpful. We also got a free cocktail with every room, which was unexpected and the drinks were unique and delicious. They have a sister hotel one block away that had live music that night, so we walked over there which was fun. We had two families and the 5 kids stayed together in the "family room" with 6 bunk beds, and they said it was their favorite place they stayed on our trip. Awesome location about a 5 minute walk to Old Town.

Our shower had extremely low water pressure, but we were only staying one night so it wasn't an issue for us.

We stayed at the Monterey Motel for two nights during our road trip in New Mexico. The room was very spacious, the shower was good, and the small bar area was a nice touch. The motel is located not far from the Old Pueblo, but I wouldn’t recommend walking there at night. There’s a bagel shop nearby for breakfast, as well as a Latin restaurant at El Vado Motel, both of which are within walking distance. If you’re looking for an affordable hotel in the area, I would recommend this place.

The room was adorably decorated and just perfectly fit the kitschy vibe of the motel. It was spacious and comfortable. I particularly loved the whole long bench along the wall that was perfect for laying out all of my bags - more hotels should have practical surfaces like that! The counter along one end of the room for the sink was also big and spacious. It was a super comfortable room and not cramped in any way, and clean surfaces and no carpet made me so happy! The desk was good, the lighting was excellent. I also loved the lounge/check-in which is super non-traditional but so much fun. The guy playing music in the corner and cracking jokes, the super nice bartender/lobby attendant person, the other guests in this cute little room just getting to know each other and hanging out and telling stories. Such a fun, comfortable vibe. I was there alone but felt perfectly at home! Great cocktail menu too! The location is excellent, and I was so happy to just roll into town at night and pull in and park, and just walk right across to my room after I checked in. So easy, so relaxing.

I'd have preferred a few more layers on the mattress and a fitted sheet - or rather a sheet that tucked securely around the mattress - I'm very particular about clean cushy beds and smooth sheets and non-lumpy pillows and non-scratchy bedding - so it was good and I slept well, but not off the charts. It's a very minor complaint.

Fun, fresh decor and vibe. Loved that they had a bar in the lobby. The room was very nice and the staff were friendly.

I didn't like the shower because it was hand held--you could tell by the bottom of the bathroom door that the water from the shower spilled everywhere because it was all peeled up. It was a very modern fixture and looked cool--I can see why it seemed like a good idea, but I just wanted to stand under the showerhead, not have to hold it in my hand or attach it back to the fixture while soaping up. It was too low to stand under and we were unable to make it higher.

Generally quiet, and it was within walking distance of the hotel where I was attending a convention. The bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows. The lobby has ice water and good coffee.

I wasn't able to get my laptop to connect at all, so that prevented me from doing some work items. The iPad would glitch out later in the evening so I would have to sign off. Note that if you want/need housekeeping to come by to empty trash or change towels, you have to request this. Once done, the staff is very accommodating.

Our bed was super comfortable. The rooms are very big and clean however, the area seemed a little run down. We were greeted by a very friendly bartender who is also the person that checked us in. The hotel has a little lounge with free music and you get 1 drink each! We did not use the pool on this visit but it looked nice. It is a motel so our view was the parking lot. lol, We were close to the balloon fiesta and old town so that was nice.

The neighborhood isn't the greatest.

The room was super clean and pretty modern/sparse in decor. It was a fun vibe as it is clearly a lovingly restored Route 66 motel. The finishes were not high end (not expected at this price point) but were nice, the walk in shower was very appreciated. The location was near enough to old town to walk but I personally would not walk it at night as the area was not too pedestrian friendly. The refrigerator was nice and it was not noisy, like some hotel fridges are. The bar in the lobby was super nice to have. It was a fun vibe and allows you to have a nice nightcap without having to worry about driving.

Kleenex in the room would have been appreciated. The coffee pods were weak. Try to avoid room 7 as this is next to a mechanical room that was a bit noisy although it was furthest from the main road (Central Ave). The noise didn't affect my sleeping.
