Our stay at Shadowcrest couldn't have been better. Room was small but very well appointed with a comfy bed, nice artwork on the walls, TV, Hot water heater and tea, etc. The bathroom was very very nice with what was probably the best shower I've ever experienced. Seriously, perfect water pressure, new fixtures, etc. Brendan the host was easily accessible by phone or text with any questions we had and he had great suggestions about what to check out around town. The town is quiet but with just enough action if you do want to go out to eat, drink, shop.

Everything was wonderful, and the magic making it such a spectacular stay was Brendan, the host himself. Not only were we warmly welcomed, he assisted us in many other ways too, making our time spent in this town in Cat Skills area enjoyable. The property has a front porch and I must say the eye for detail in the decorations (both indoors and outdoors) is impeccable! Even though the building is over a 100 years old, it has been well refurbished yet they manage to keep the authenticity of the design and furnishings intact. There is also a living room with a fireplace, great to sink onto the sofa (and enjoy a book if you like reading). The room is also lovely, with thick luxurious towels and toiletries. The room came well equipped with hot water boiler, including microwave oven. The bed was packed with extravagant pillows, cushions, beddings, so we slept very well too. As we visited in the week of Halloween, we were invited to join the joyous fun spirit of a costume party in the host's neighborhood. Brendan and partner had also won the top prize in the pumpkin creative competition. What a memorable time ! Even though when I booked the stay, there was no mention of breakfast, the property nonetheless offered a table of breakfast cereals, breads, with your hot beverages like coffee/tea/chocolate, with yoghurt and milk in the fridge.

What a wonderful place to stay,we were met with a very warm welcome from the owner Brendon, the house itself is full of charm and character , our bedroom was really nice, everything being top quality and the bed linen was top end luxury, the bathroom was spotless and a great shower, we spent a few hours relaxing on the front porch. Great Host and a wonderful location, We would definitely stay here again.

This place is absolutely stunning!! Everything was perfect. My room was so comfortable and had every amenity you would need….and more! Rain shower head, heated bathroom floor, king bed that was very comfortable. Wrap around porch that is candle lit at night! And Brendan, one of the owners, spent time with my dog and I just chilling on the porch! Brendan carried my bags up to my room! Such an enjoyable 2 night stay in the Catskills! 😊

There isn’t a single negative thing to say!

The premises was a nicely renovated Victorian type house with a good bathroom shower & comfy bed. Breakfast was nice, good quality pastries & coffee. Main host was cheerful & accommodating

Check-in was a bit of a problem, possibly because we booked late in the day, the sub-host on site was rather unhelpful, and we didn't gain access until around 7:30pm :-). However the main host did make amends by providing a bottle of nice wine as compensation as was very apologetic.

Shadowcrest is a charming place to stay. The host Brendan is very welcoming, and there to answer any questions or provide assistance if needed. Our room was very clean and comfortable, and we slept great (loved the pillows). It was a nice touch to have a Continental breakfast to get your day started. We would definitely stay here again.

I would highly recommend this guest house because it is very comfortable in a quiet village. Also Brendan is so very helpful to make sure you have everything you need. We especially thank him for quickly building a handrail outside to help us and even going across the street for our takeout. If you want an area to enjoy nature this is it.

Amazing hosts of a beautiful, well-designed and maintained home. Stunning place that I can't wait to return to.

The village is lovely, but closes down around 9ish for dinner, so plan accordingly. The hosts will let you know this, which is helpful.

We loved everything! Brendan made our stay so enjoyable and was an amazing host! He made some great food recommendations, and was such a pleasure to stay with! We LOVED our room and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
