I stayed at the Wyndham garden in Midland and paid twice as much the med was lumpy and my pillows over washed where the cotton separated woke up with my neck hurting .. I would definitely recommend the grand Texan and if they do get all the remodeling done this year and the pool open it would really bring in the right customers the only thing that bothered me on my stay is when a hotel starts to get run down they get the creepy people

The staff was exceptionally nice and pleasant. The room was clean and very nice. Comfortable bed and the refrigerator was cold.

That they were still under construction and not all anemeties were available. But it was of no concern. They are not finished yet. I can say the only thing I didnt like was the city it was in, I hate midland with a passion.

I like historic hotels. This one had its heyday, then the hotel boom in the area probably took it out. The property has a lot of potential and I it looks like the current owners are trying to bring it back to life. Maybe they will, maybe not. It looks like the low prices have attracted a few long term people. The hotel doesn't appear to have enough revenue to keep the resort style pool open and vibrant. It might be a really nice small convention or wedding/party venue if you had enough people to take it over. For business travel, it is cheap, central, quiet, and I had the entire executive atrium to myself, so that would be an interesting place to have a meeting if your guests appreciated such a location.

It was a bit of a ghost town. The pool and restaurants are not open.

the grand Texan has been a favorite of our family for a long time. while it had experienced a steady decline in recent years, it seems there’s a new owner or at least new management. everywhere there are signs of improvement and new items. while the pool is closed for much needed overhaul, there is a fresh hot breakfast with eggs beans and excellent potatoes made to order. the video games are functioning as well, even the classic claw machine. The atrium is still a little rowdy late into the night, but the good thick walls and numerous soft pillows ensured us a sound comfortable sleep. all in all, it seems the grand Texan is on its way back up and will be a very nice stay in the coming months.

Left early in the morning to go to airport to catch early flight. It was close enough to the airport so we chose it and it was reasonable

While clean and reasonable it’s an old property in need of repairs which makes it appear somewhat sketchy

Amazing price. One of the nicer hotels we stayed in during our trip. Amazing breakfast--like a homecooked meal.

Pool wasn't available but then again we didn't have time to use it anyway.

Staff was great. The room was great.

They are under renovation so inside facilities like the pool were not available. it was not a problem because we already knew about the renovation.

I always stay here at the Gran Texan the property sits in a location the is fitting and easily accessible to many places here in midland the staff is great and the rooms are roomy and comfortable

The staff was exceptionally helpful & informative. The breakfast was very good. The people made this a wonderful experience. I will stay here again.

Maybe more towels.
