We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We loved the pool and bbq area and the library was such a great bonus. The staff were all very pleasant. Breakfast was good and had nice options. Loved having coffee, tea and hot chocolate available. The location is a short drive from the ferry and to the beach.

The receptionist and staff were very courteous and accommodating. The original handicap room we were assigned, was very cold as the heater was not working. The receptionist, Zoey, was very nice and she took care of us and moved us to a different handicap room with a working heater. The remainder of our stay went very smooth. Our free breakfast was very good with a very satisfying assortment of items. Overall a very pleasant stay.

I am 5'2" handicapped and cannot bend my knees with ease and without pain. The bed was very high 2'7", which made it almost impossible and dangerous for me to get into bed. I had to brace myself against my rolling walker and push against the other queen bed to get up. I'm 77 and have to use the facilities during the night, so this in itself was very hard. I have found that most hotel handicap rooms have very high beds for people with disabilities.

We just love staying with Best Western in Port A, it’s nice and very clean, it’s very well kept and the staff is always great and accommodating! I understand that being on the beach it’s hard to keep bugs under control and I wasn’t going to say anything but decided I should just so you would know about it but I did kill a roach in our bathroom! This will not hinder our staying with you next time, you work so hard to keep the hotel nice and we appreciate your efforts! God bless Judy S

Small quaint little place, tucked away right by the Pier/Beach. Hotel staff was nice and kind. We were only there for not even the whole day, we had to head back into San Antonio for business that same day (booo) we wanted to stay overnight. I definitely will be returning here just cause it’s super close, convenient, decent price for the stay!!! I believe they have continental breakfast as well. All n All great for the price…

It didn’t really bother me but ice machine was out of service (my gf loves to eat ice) so she’s the one that was bummed out.

very clean, all workers were very friendly and helpful. housekeeping even loaned us a broom so w we could sweep sand out of our rental car. Pop was warm (one of the few outdoor pools that was heated!) so we used it a lot. breakfast was fantastic—eggs, meats, tortillas, waffles, cereal, yogurt, English muffins, gravy, fresh fruit!

a little isolated, but what can you expect on the end of a sand bar? 😛

Pool was great, it was heated, so we could come back from the beach and continue the fun. Easily walkable to the beach. Rooms were well equipped with a fairly full kitchen. Beds were comfortable, bathroom was well designed. Staff went out of their way to reunite a lost bag with my 10 year old, so extremely happy with the service. Breakfast was well stocked, with lovely staff. Even a secondhand bookshop, where you could swap a book.

Only grumble was that our fridge made a slight knocking noise.

We've stayed at this location several times in the past years. The breakfast was not at all like it used to be. There wasn't much variety at all and selections were limited. They always have had a great breakfast in years past. That wasn't the case this trip. It wasn't horrible, just not at all what we were used to.

They serve a great breakfast! They accommodated us on a booking error. They're dead center in the middle of town with super easy access to any and everything!

Ok, so to be clear this was the only time we experienced this.....we had a problem with water bugs in our room. They look like big juicy cockroaches.....and my girls almost wanted to leave and stay elsewhere. We love BW port A ...so hopefully they can get the property treated and fix this issue.

The room was clean and comfortable. When I checked in I was given the option of first or second floor and chose first floor. we were given a room at the very end and enjoyed a quiet weekend. And I’d course, the breakfast each morning was phenomenal!

there was nothing we didn’t like.

The location is great as it is only about a minute from the beach. The breakfast was good for the typical hotel breakfast, eggs, sausage, bacon,potatoes, variety of cereals, muffins, bagels, fruits and everyone's favorite, the waffles!

It has nothing to do with the property, but I wish the weather had been a bit better.
