I liked the location and the service.

The beach area was closed. They were working on a large project and the construction equipment was on the beach drenching or something.

I like where it’s located on the island

The young man checking me in was more concerned with talking to the lady checking in next to me. Wish they would have told us ahead of time giving us the opportunity to switch hotels or offered a discount for the fact we could not use the beach directly in front of hotel due to being blocked off. Understand they can’t control it but would have been nice to know ahead so we could make a choice. Secondly, the bar Barry’s? really blocks second floor views.

Stay was very nice. The facility was very clean, rooms were spacious, employees very friendly.

I have a shiztu that is 11lbs. We love to travel with him but you no pet rule unless a service dog is not acceptable to me. Yes you allow service dogs but do you realize how many people can go online and get service dog accreditation without it being a true service dog? I know of people in our community that have dogs they pass off as service dogs which they are not but went online to get the credentials they need to get there pets in to places like yours. This really is a frustration of mine.

Breakfast made to order is great. Coffee was fresh, waffles and eggs were tasty.

Hotel nickles and dimes for cans of soda and candy bars at an insane markup. People are spending hundreds per night for lodging, you don't need to scalp them for snacks. Also, bring laundry facilities into the 19th century. Shouldn't need a roll of quarters, a card is ideal. Plus having one elevator dead during the entire stay was a bummer. They get very busy. One last thing. Real pillows. The tiny baby pillows on the beds are a joke.

Our room wasn't ready when we arrived, so they upgraded us to a junior suite. It was a fantastic and spacious room! It had a great view of the ocean. The staff were very friendly and checked on us frequently. They also enforced quiet hours, which was really nice. There was a boardwalk all the way to the beach, and plenty of outside showers to wash off sand.

The beds were too firm and not very comfortable. The bedding could use an upgrade as well. Only one elevator was working, so it took quite awhile during busy hours.

Super clean, beach access, beautiful location. Pool was fun and large with great areas for kids.

I asked the front desk about breakfast and she told me they did not have complimentary breakfast at the hotel available and encouraged me to purchase at Starbucks. Only to find out they did have breakfast and I had it included in my stay. So we lost out on breakfast for 4 of us and instead spent $50 at Starbucks. She didn’t even ask me for my room or reservation number to let me know about breakfast nor told me that north of the border had breakfast to purchase.

Room location was excellent facing the ocean, over the pool and beach bar. Breakfast was excellent, as well as dinner at the bar while watching football bowl games. All restaurant and bar employees were friendly and professional. Enjoyed a hot coffee at Starbucks downstairs every morning. Noticed that staff was always sweeping, mopping and cleaning the common area furniture, as well as wiping down the tables in the morning by the pool from the overnight dew. The landscaped areas around the resort was beautiful. Excellent accommodations!!

Great location- beachfront and next to entertaining venues with great music and food! It has a nice “boardwalk” to its beach access and has awesome outdoor showers to wash off the sand. It’s the last big hotel on SPI, so you are next to a protected beach park that has a more secluded feel if you prefer that! Huge pool with lots of seating and 2 hot tubs—very nice!

Our suite needed more lighting!! It only had 2 overhead/ceiling lights that were right next to each other in the center of the suite outside the bathroom. There were only 2 small adjustable reading lights by each bed—no other lamps—and 1 lamp by the sofa with a desk lamp lamp on the office desk/table. Very dim at night.

The location was EVERYTHING!!! The ramp that took u to the beach was nice. It literally took us less than 5 mins to check in the hotel. Our room was clean and to me, its a plus that the air conditioning unit went all the way down to the 50’s. (Super hot outside). Our balcony was huge and faced the firework show that they do every night. The pool area was so beautiful. Theres a bar poolside and the service was excellent. The pool water was warm and the chlorine was perfect, it didn’t burn ur eyes. We paid for the breakfast to be included in our room price and it was so worth it. Its a restaurant, On The Border, inside the hotel, and that’s where u eat breakfast. You get to choose from the regular menu. Breakfast was delicious. Parking was convenient. They give u a parking decal, so that only their guests could park there. I didn’t meet an unkind staff member there. EVERYONE was super nice, respectful, and professional. We’re definitely staying there again next time we go back to SPI.

I don’t have a complaint at all

The rooms were very large! As a family of 5 it was great to have the extra space and hide away couch. The view from ur balcony was amazing! We loved the pool, beach bar, and ocean! If we come back to South Padre we will absolutely stay here again!

The breakfast was ok and the gym smelt like bad water in the bathroom and it was super hot and stuffy in there.
