The Inn of the Canyons is definitely a nice place to stay in Monticello (which is the crossroad for National Parks north, south, and west). Our room was very clean and comfortable and my husband loved the great shower. Parking is abundant too. The complimentary breakfast (not a made-to-order situation) was very decent with a few options to accommodate multiple AM dining preferences. The staff was very friendly. Also good to know - for anyone who forgets their toothbrush, etc, they offer a variety of toiletries and food products for sale in the lobby (This is sort of important given that Monticello is a small town and has no all-night drug or grocery stores). There is what appears to be a very lovely indoor pool - we did not get to use it during our stay, but are looking forward to it in future stays (We will DEFINITELY be back when travel plans permit!).
This is not so much what I didn't like, but more a note for people who have issues climbing stairs - the property has rooms on two levels. Since there is no elevator, any guests who have difficulty making it up a flight of steps (even low rise with cushy carpet) should request a room on the main floor. I have a heavy suitcase (OKAY - I like to have a lot of apparel options while traveling...), but my sherpa (wonderful husband) had no difficulty getting it up the stairs... :-)

The indoor pool was great! Be aware that it is closed on Fridays from 10am-4pm. The hot tub was amazing after getting caught in a hailstorm while hiking earlier in the day. Breakfast was also great. They had the breads and a waffle iron, yogurt, boiled eggs, but also had an item they rotated; biscuits and gravy one day, sausage and egg omelettes the next. The location was great, right on main street. The room had a good sized bathroom and fridge.
Just be aware, there is no elevator. We were fine and I'm not complaining, but this could be a problem for some people.

The room was easy to get to for unloading & loading the car.
The breakfast was wonderful, however we experienced the young lady that was working be very rude to several guests. It was15 min before breakfast was supposed to be over & when a guest asked her if she could bring out more eggs she said breakfast is almost over. She was not helpful to several other guests. We normally tip the person taking care of the breakfast area but when we witnessed what we did, our tip money stayed in our pocket.

The hotel was a good stop for my travel plans. The room was comfortable and spacious. The hotel also has a Indoor pool and jacuzzi which I took advantage of after my long day of hiking. Staff very friendly and helpful. Monticello is a good stop but doesn't have much options for restaurants so the hotel partners with a few take away/take out places who deliver directly to your room.
The hotel has good facilities but the breakfast and breakfast area (tiny corridor with a few table) are not to the standards I would have expected from not just the price I paid but compare to the rest of the facilities (pool, jacuzzi, comfortableand spacious rooms). . Also there were a lot of pipes noise in my last night. This could have just been a one off...

The Inn at the Canyons was a very charming place to stay. The photos on their website do not do them justice. We were there for two nights, and swam in their beautiful pool and used the hot tub on both nights. McKenna, at the front desk, was especially helpful. The breakfast was good. The staff was friendly and engaging. Our room was very nice and clean. Plus the scenery, outside, was magnificent! This was our first visit to Monticello, and we were very pleased with the choice we made. The price we paid for all of this was a great deal!!
Nothing.?

great location and rooms clean and spacious
we didn’t understand breakfast was until 9am. generally even if it’s ended, all places we’ve stayed let the people finish quietly and if someone is late at least can take their breakfast. here they simply throw away all the people at 9:00 and denied us even take coffee or a sip of orange juice, as we arrived at 9:02 and thought this hotel was like all of the previous ones serving breakfast until 9:30 or 10:00. stressful almost insulting when the cleaning lady refused all compromise. language may be an issue, I wish they understand that and be normal. who sends away all customers at 9:00? even a father with a baby and bottle couldn’t take hot water, she simply replied “too late” in front of us … was 9:04….

The shower head was amazing. Great water pressure. Clean, quiet room and pool. The pool and hot tub were great.
Breakfast was good. We loved the waffles. It would have been nice to have bananas and some type of meat: sausage or bacon, served every day. Lots of carb options, but more meat options with scrambled egg daily would have been great. Also having egg options without cheese.

Good location for visiting Arches NP and small town of Monticello also interesting. Very comfortable and spacious room. Nice swimming pool. Plenty of free parking. Staff could have been more customer friendly and breakfast was poor. Overall the hotel served its purpose.
Breakfast not good value

Everything!
The property was just fine. But when we found out we could have saved $$$$ booking direct with them (which we didn’t do this time , we were tired and lazy), we were disappointed in booking.com for charging more than the hotel. We’ve trusted booking for years, but truly feel ripped off.

The breakfast was very good. The staff was very nice. The indoor pool was large and clean. They have some frozen food available for purchase in the lobby to microwave in your room if you don't feel like going out.
The only complaint we had was the bed was very firm. Of course this is subjective as some people enjoy that.
