This was the second time we have stayed here for hiking or snowshoeing in the area. The cabin is very comfortable, quiet and well-equipped. This time we were in a cabin by the street rather than the river. The river is a nicer view but if you are out and about during the day seeing the beauty of the area, the street side is fine especially since it’s quiet. Staff, especially Jody, was wonderful. I had a hiking accident and she brought me ice packs and offered to connect me with medical assistance. I was very grateful for her genuine concern.

The wifi in our cabin was variable but the cell service was fine.

First of all our cabin was absolutely wonderful! It was spotless, cozy and altogether lovely. It is a shame we didn’t get to enjoy it more as my husband had a medical emergency on the way over the pass. Upon arriving and checking in hotel staff immediately called the paramedics to assess my husband. Long story short we ended up at the hospital an hour away in Brewster where we got excellent treatment. We were able to return late that night. Let me say the hotel staff went way beyond with their help, concern and care for us. This an absolutely lovely place to stay while in Winthrop and plan to go back soon and take our family.

Nothing. It is great lodging in Winthrop. Can’t wait to go back!

The cottage was very clean and well appointed. Even though we ate our meals out, everything you would need to cook a meal on the stove top (3 burners) was provided. We enjoyed the hot tub on the deck of our "cozy" cottage and relaxing in the evening on the sofa in the living area ... great setup all around!

Upon driving into River's Edge, many of the cottages' exteriors looked weathered and gave the appearance that maybe the facilities weren't well maintained, thankfully that was not the case as the interior our cottage was both clean and very nicely appointed ... great interior layout!

We stay here every year for our annual trip around the Cascade Loop. This is one that we especially look forward to every year. We love having our own private hot tub with plenty of towels. The views from our private deck are wonderful and we have seen all kinds of wildlife, from marmots to wood ducks. We will always come back for the comfort, friendly staff, and convenient location. During our most recent stay, there was a mix-up that resulted in a very confused traveler on our porch. The staff was very thorough in resolving the issue. We were impressed with how it was handled and appreciate how the staff owned up to a mistake, calling in the morning to apologize and make sure everything ended up alright. That kind of customer service is rare these days.

The coffee is a little stale, but delicious espresso is available nearby. Also, the "conditioning" shampoo isn't very good at detangling. Bring your own conditioner if you plan on getting your hair wet in the hot tub.

Our cabin had a beautiful view of the river, both from the private hot tub and from inside. Every amenity we could have needed was included. It was bright, quiet and clean and had the most comfortable bed. There are lots of good restaurants and stores nearby and the price was very affordable. We will definitely stay here again.

It was a great location. It was quiet. The hot tub was just what the Dr prescribed!😊 The decor was great. Everything was beyond our expectations except...

The coffee in the room was terrible, horrible, no good, says my husband, the coffee expert. And the only other thing was I didn't ask if there were places with grab bars in the bathroom. (The toilets were quite short for people with arthritis,)

The cabin we stayed in had a king size bed in the bedroom downstairs with a bathroom across the hall. The king bed was very comfy. The upstairs had a spacious open loft with a queen bed and the second bathroom as well as a separate room with 2 children's beds. Both the rooms upstairs had closets so big, you could easily fit a blowup mattress in them. The cabin had a large deck with a hot tub overlooking the river. The hot tub was large and the water was nice and hot. Cabin was easy walking distance to everything in town and close to trails and the lake. The small river running behind the cabin had a nice little sandy spot for the kids to play in.

A few minor complaints. The queen bed upstairs was quite firm and springy. And the pillows were not any more comfortable. The front door lock required a key, every time we had to open it. We couldn't figure out how to keep it unlocked. This was particularly annoying when packing and unpacking the car. Also the deck is connected to the cabin next to us, with a privacy wall separating them. This is fine for adults, but we briefly lost our toddler and found her in the neighbors cabin! Fortunately no one was home ha ha. Last thing, there is no safe access to the river behind the cabin. This might be on purpose, but getting my kids down and back up the slippery slope full of thorn bushes was not fun. Lots of fun though once your down by the river.

Great location! Right at the edge of the boardwalk. Walked to shopping and food. Watched the parade from right out front of the resort. Although the cabins are close they are private with a nice deck off the river.

The hot tub was a little noisy while sitting on the deck and since we didn’t use the tub it would have been better if it wasn’t there. But if you want the hot tub then the noise probably wouldn’t concern you.

Close to town, nice hot tub. Pleasant staff. Deck was right off the river.

No blackout curtains in bedrooms, in fact in loft bedroom no curtains at all. Staff would come on our deck and not knock first, and zero curtains on back - so we could have been changing to go into hot tub. Would have appreciated more privacy.

I liked that we were in the cabin at the very end which made it quiet and private on one side of us. It was very quiet at night and we could see lots of stars in the night sky. The hot tub was sooooo nice to have after a day skiing, actually anytime was a good hot tub time! We could watch deer walking along the cliff above the river right outside our back porch. The XC skiing conditions are amazing. The people at the XC skiing information hut were very knowledgable and friendly. The quaint western themed town was right outside our door allowing us to walk around and shop easily. The book store in town is outstanding!! We brought precooked frozen casseroles for our own meals most of the time but went out to the Mexican restaurant, sorry I can't remember the name, the food and service was great. Can't wait to come back next year with another group of friends.

A lot of the stores were closed on Tuesday, Wed and Thursdays. I guess that's because most of the visitors to the town are there on the weekends? It would have been nice to have a full size coffee maker instead of the tiny hotel size. We booked for the first week in March, thank goodness the Methow Valley still had a good snow base. It was difficult waxing for the spring skiing conditions. We would have been better off using wax less skis or skate skis. Despite these spring conditions we had a very enjoyable skiing experience.
